Chapter 566: Becoming Passive

Translator: Atlas Studios  Editor: Atlas Studios

Just as both sides stood in their formations, Berserk Heavenlaw’s Magicians immediately launched their attacks… A dozen of lightnings were sent towards Wang Yu and Vainglory.

Wang Yu’s reaction was extraordinary as he spinned a few rounds and managed to avoid the lightnings easily.

Although Vainglory was not as capable as Wang Yu, he simply stood still under the protection of Fearless’ [Sacred Ray] and allowed the lightnings to hit him, and managed to escape unscath.

“F*ck…”

Seeing what happened, Berserk Heavenlaw’s Magicians retreated in shock and disbelief.

What even?! They understood that [Sacred Ray] was an extremely reputable skill of the Holy System and knew its attributes. However, who was that tall Pugilist?

The lightnings were thrown at him and yet he could dodge all of them in just a few steps? This did not make sense.

Although Lightning System’s spells were not target-type skills, and hence, could be dodged easily, their trajectory were the fastest among all skills. A dozen of lightnings had rained on the area. How could he have dodged all of them?

Even the top-notch expert, Nian Liuyun, had been injured by such attacks.

“You!! I think I have met you before!!” Seeing Wang Yu’s impressive move, Wild Thunderheart suddenly recalled. As he spoke, he looked at Wang Yu’s chest and as expected, Wild Thunderheart saw the black and white Yinyang Fish.

“It’s you!!” seeing Wang Yu’s Yinyang Fish Badge, Wild Thunderheart instantly remembered that this person had killed him in two punches before. Then he recalled the disagreements between Berserk Heavenlaw and the United Alliance which indirectly caused the Ironcliff Fortress to fall.

Although Berserk Thundergod did not blame Wild Thunderheart for causing it to happen, Wild Thunderheart had never been popular amongst people. After that incident, he was even more hated, causing Wild Thunderheart to be excluded.

Hence, Wild Thunderheart hated Wang Yu more than anyone in Berserk Heavenlaw.

“Your memory is quite good!” Wang Yu laughed.

“God damn it! Everyone, kill him!” Wild Thunderheart crazily rose his staff to gather a strong bolt of lightning and wrung it at him.

[Berserk Thunder] skill was a high-level monolithic spell of the Thunder System. Its attack style was similar to the [Lightning] skill but its attack strength was several times stronger. It was the skill with the strongest attack strength amongst all the occupations at level 35.

However, since Wang Yu could dodge a dozen lightnings, one bolt from the [Berserk Thunder] skill definitely could not hit him. He casually moved a step back and easily dodged the [Berserk Thunder] skill.

“Do you think you’re the only one who know spells?” Wang Yu said condescendingly. Behind him, Ming Du and Spring Halo also threw spells at the opposing troop.

Ming Du’s [Flaming Thunderstorm] was perversely mighty and powerful. Tens of flaming arrows covered the sky, scaring their opponent. In comparison, Spring Halo’s [Poison Nova] was way more low profile. A ball of green light from Spring Halo shone outwards to the surrounding.

Seeing that their opponents’ spells were coming, Berserk Heavenlaw’s front row of shield fighters split up. The shield formation divided into two. The shield fighters at the back lifted their shields high up to cover the top.

The remaining fighters placed their shields in front of them to block Spring Halo’s poison.

Ming Du’s [Flaming Thunderstorm] could inflict a lot of damage but Berserk Thunder City’s shield fighters interacted with Magicians so much that their shields were special compared to other main cities’ as they shield spells better than objects.

As Ming Du stood closer to the back, his spell’s range was limited. The flaming arrows were taken down by the shield fighters and turned into a ball of yellow light after landing on the Guardians’ shields then disappeared in a flash.

“Eh?!”

Seeing how their spells were blocked, the two of them were stunned.

Spring Halo’s [Poison Nova] possessed a weak attack strength but everyone knew that Ming Du’s spell inflicted double damage through the mixture of fire and thunder. Range spells’ instant explosion was way stronger than individual skills… When he executed a spell, very few people could survive.

Berserk Heavenlaw’s shield fighters lifted their shields and they suffered no damage at all… They were so resistant to spells?

Berserk Heavenlaw’s shield fighters were shocked themselves. Their shields were most effective against spells, especially those from the Thunder System. However, when their opponents’ spells hit them, their Hinder value were reduced so dramatically. This was something they themselves had not seen too…

Even more shocking was that the Hinder value of the few shields which were hit by the [Poison Nova] did not drop. Instead, they were eroded and their Durability decreased slowly…

Durability was an important attribute of shields. Seeing how their Durability was falling, the shield fighters were disheartened…

“Leader Wild Thunderheart, why don’t we retreat for now? We are suffering too much losses.” The shield fighters convinced in the guild chat. Equipment cost more than lives in the game. Even if they died several times, at most they would lose experience points. However if their equipments were destroyed, there was no way they could continue playing!

Wild Thunderheart said, “Everyone calm down. This lad is not simple. I have informed Leader Thundergod. Support troops are arriving soon.”

“Leader Wild Thunderheart, you seem to know that Pugilist. How did you guys meet?” Someone asked Wild Thunderheart. These guys were too scary. They even had cruel tactics to reduce equipments’ Durability. This was never seen before and hence, scared them so much.

“They are from Quan Zhen Sect…” Wild Thunderheart said.

“That Quan Zhen Sect?”

“Yes, them!”

“What! That bunch of bastards.”

To Berserk Heavenlaw, they were very familiar with Quan Zhen Sect. It was not because everyone heard of them. It was because every time Berserk Heavenlaw held a guild meeting, Quan Zhen Sect would be used as a negative example and criticised by everyone.

After so long, even the newbies had a deep impression of this evil guild.

Taking revenge against Quan Zhen Sect soon became their top priority… It was almost every Berserk Heavenlaw’s player’s motto to kill any Quan Zhen Sect member they see.

They finally met their hearsay arch enemy but Berserk Heavenlaw suddenly realised that instead of killing Quan Zhen Sect’s people, running away was a better option.

Thinking about this, Berserk Heavenlaw tightened their formation…

There was no other way. In face of Quan Zhen Sect, such ruthless people, they would definitely die faster if they separated. With shield fighters’ protection and a tighter formation, their chances of livelihood increased. Based on their exchange just now, it should be no problem to hang on till the support troops arrive.

Seeing how Berserk Heavenlaw tightened their formation, Fearless’ expression changed and said, “They are trying to buy time. Seems like they have called for help. Quickly end this battle!”

“Got it!”

Speaking, Ming Du and Spring Halo launched another attack…

As Berserk Heavenlaw’s people had outstanding experience dealing with Magicians, everyone knew to block or dodge. Ming Du and Spring Halo’s spells came to waste and Quan Zhen Sect was left to become passive.
