"Perennial Blademaster…" Repeating the name of the subclass Riekan had just mentioned, Valyr swiftly searched through all of the memories in his mind, wondering if he had seen the subclass in action before to see if it was worth the shift. Unfortunately, even after being silent for a couple minutes, no memory regarding the subclass could be found.

With that, he looked at the man before him and opened his mouth, asking what was considered a natural follow-up to Riekan's earlier words. "What grade is the subclass?"

Though Valyr had many ways to obtain higher-rarity subclasses in the future, as well as the fact that changing to another subclass always applied its additional stats retroactively, he did not want to use the scroll on himself to get the subclass, only to find out that the subclass he was planning to get in the first place was far better in terms of skills and rarity.

In response to Valyr's question, Riekan scratched his head for a bit before wryly smiling. "It's been a long time since I created the subclass, so I have mostly forgotten the specifics."

"Fortunately for you, I think you could use an identification skill on the scroll to find that out," he added soon after, removing the slight disappointment Valyr felt from his words.

With Riekan's statement in mind, a light blue haze appeared around Valyr's eyes once more as he brought the scroll out of the bag, activating [Analysis] as a screen appeared in front of him a few seconds later.

Ding!

[Subclass Change Scroll]

Rarity: Legendary

A scroll that contains a greater power, allowing those who use it to obtain or change their subclass to the subclass attached on the scroll.

The subclass attached to the scroll is the [Perennial Blademaster] subclass, a subclass that focuses on achieving the pinnacle of the blade. This subclass is a Growth type subclass, starting off at the Rare grade, with its limit being the Legendary grade.

Reading through the description of the scroll, Valyr could not help but raise his eyebrows in slight surprise, not expecting that the subclass Riekan would offer to the village was a Growth type subclass.

For something to be considered Growth type, that something would have to have the ability to ascend at least two rarities beyond its initial rarity, such as the case for the Perennial Blademaster subclass, which reached the Legendary grade from the Rare grade. Of course, aside from subclasses, there were also Growth type classes, skills, items, and equipment, though the chances of one obtaining something like that would be next to none if one didn't know where to start looking.

Though, aside from Growth type items, there were also Pseudo-Growth type items, which also had the ability to ascend past its initial rarity, but only one grade. A good example of this would be Valyr's True Tideblood Spear, which was originally a wooden spear at Common grade. Then again, it wasn't a true Pseudo-Growth type item.

Nevertheless, after finding out that the Perennial Blademaster subclass had the potential to reach Legendary grade later down the line, all thoughts of using the scroll on himself instantly disappeared from Valyr's mind. Of course, the subclass was by no means subpar in his eyes, but when compared to the subclass he had in mind…

It was akin to comparing a stone to a diamond.

After informing Riekan of the subclass he had given him the responsibility to give being Growth type, as well as its final rarity, Valyr closed the screen in front of him before stowing away the scroll in his bag once more. While doing so, Riekan thanked Valyr for jogging his memory regarding the subclass, only to mutter to himself not long after that if he tried making the subclass again, he could have given it the power to reach Mythic grade.

Unsurprisingly, Valyr's interest was instantly piqued when he heard those words. After all, a Mythic grade subclass was incredibly difficult to obtain, unlike a Mythic grade class, which more or less relied on obtaining certain skills and advancements.

Aside from the fact that one would have to undergo through a series of quests, as well as meet stringent requirements just to be able to obtain a subclass of that rarity, it was incredibly hard to find even in core cities and kingdoms, let alone in a barren place like the outskirts of Astarto Village.

Unfortunately, just as Riekan had uttered those words and seemingly had the intent to do so, he swiftly decided otherwise, discarding the thought from his mind as Valyr let out an inward sigh in slight disappointment. In his mind, if the Perennial Blademaster subclass had the possibility of reaching Mythic grade, he would have used the scroll on himself and unhesitatingly changed his weapon of choice.

Sadly, that did not happen.

Tossing all thoughts of what-ifs aside, silence enveloped the two once more as it felt like there was nothing else to talk about. Of course, a bit of banter was done in order to avoid silence completely, with Riekan asking Valyr how life in Astarto Village was.

While responding to the question, a thought could not help but surface in Valyr's mind sometime later, thinking that it made a lot of sense. Eventually, once he had finished answering Riekan's question, he opened his mouth to ask the question that had just popped up. "Now that I think about it, the rewards I've gotten from the dungeon so far are incredibly disproportionate compared to the amount of effort I've put into clearing it."

"Although I thank you for the fact that you helped me learn [Basic Crimson Flame Manipulation] without me having met all the requirements, don't you think I should get more aside from a scroll I wouldn't even use myself?"

"Well…" Listening to Valyr's question, Riekan pondered over it for a bit. "That is true…"

"You still have the three Dungeon Key Fragments you've saved, right?" he asked, to which Valyr nodded in response, rummaging the three glass-looking shards out of his bag before giving it to Riekan.

Nodding back, Riekan opened his mouth as he received the shards. "How about this? In exchange for the three Dungeon Key Fragments you've saved, you can have all of the items from the four remaining pedestals in the previous room."

Hearing Riekan's words, Valyr's eyes widened in slight surprise as a hint of excitement could be felt from it. Though, not long after, this excitement swiftly died down as he recalled the reasons why he didn't choose the four items in the first place.

Naturally, Riekan could not help but find it somewhat weird that Valyr was not all that excited to be able to obtain those items from the pedestals. After all, all those items would serve to give him a great boost in power later down the line.

And it was at that moment did Riekan understand why.

Bitterly smiling as he looked at Valyr, Riekan thought about rewards that Valyr could use the very instant he left the dungeon. Of course, it did not take long for his mind to shift towards the Uncommon+ grade skill on one of the pedestals, opening his mouth to tell Valyr about it.

Though, just as soon as he opened it, he closed it not long after, wondering if such a skill would even help Valyr out. Eventually, another skill at a similar grade to the one on the pedestal came to Riekan's mind, opening up a screen before him as he figured out what rewards to give Valyr.

Ding!

Hearing a notification sound resound in his mind, Valyr's eyes could not help but slightly widen as he read through it, only to look at Riekan, who looked at him with a knowing smile. "I just realized giving you most of the items on the pedestal would be counterintuitive. After all, you don't have the strength necessary to keep them."

"With that, I thought about giving you the Uncommon+ grade skill on the pedestal, but after pondering over it for a bit, I thought about what a minuscule increase to your HP and MP regeneration rate would do to help you."

"In the end, I've settled on giving you this Uncommon grade passive skill. Surely this would help you out, right?" Riekan looked back at Valyr and asked.

In response, a wide smile appeared on Valyr's face as he nodded. "Though I don't really have any plans to fight anytime soon after leaving the dungeon…"

"This will definitely help me out when I do."

[You have obtained the passive skill 'Intermediate Combat Mastery'.]
