There are only five Masters from the Grimm Monsters, two less than the last time, which is quite strange as I would have expected they would send more after what I had done last time.
“Be careful; something is not right,” General advised as we five masters begin to move. We nodded and moved toward the five Grimm Masters.
As we did, another strange thing had happened, of the five Grimm Monsters, two had gone toward the victor while the two had gone to marla, and the last one had gone to Hans. There were no Grimm Monsters for me.
Seeing that, I couldn’t help but become extremely alert and activate all my defenses; there is a high chance that Grimm Grandmaster itself might attack me.
I am not the only one sense that, as I could feel, the soul sense of the General is strengthened around me.
“Hehe, so you are human I am ordered to kill,” A booming voice rang out, cutting through the deafening clash of the millions of weapons, and Grimm Monster appeared out of invisibility; seeing it, my eyes couldn’t help but pop out in shock.
Not only me but every Master and Grandmaster and leader who knew what it is shocked seeing it appeared.
“I did not think that to deal with me, the Grimms would finally bring out the Violet Vidette in war,” I said as I controlled the shock in my heart.
In front of me is a Vidette, one of Grimm Monsters’ most terrifying cards that every human powerhouse fear. The Violet Videttes are the lowest level videttes of the three but still terrifying, each one of them just a step away from Grandmaster.
Forget their strength; these bastards have the phenomenal defense; they are said to be indestructible to anyone below that of the Grandmaster. There have been very few Master throughout history that has been able to destroy Violet Videttes.
The Grimm Monsters are said to be against nature, but these Videttes are even more. There are created through a ritual that only one in a hundred can survive after consuming the life force of ninety-nine others and drinking an alchemical solution that will increase their strength tremendously for the one last time.
From there, they could never be able to increase their strength again, even for a one-bit, but many Grimm Monsters did not mind that, seeing how hard it is to advance and how the alchemical solution they drink make them age slower and nearly indestructible anyone below the Grandmaster.
This is the first vidette that appeared in war; till now, no vidette of any grade had appeared in the war; I would be the first person to fight a vidette in this century. As these weapons of Grimm Monsters only come out in the war.
‘Dexter, come back; you are no match for this violet vidette,’ General’s voice rang out in my mind, ‘I will be fighting it, General,’ I said.
‘Don’t be a fool Dexter, you will not last in front of it even a minute; you have no idea what kind of terror they are,’ General said with a firmer voice than before.

‘Don’t worry about me, General; I have a legacy artifact that will not let me die,’ I said. I could directly reject his order, but that would be too impolite, not to mention I do not think I will be able to leave the battle even if I want to.
I could see Grimm Grandmaster soul sense tightening around me. It will not let me leave, and if General tries to help me, it will stop General.
‘Be careful and keep that legacy artifact in your hand; you are going to need it soon,’ General said with a sigh.
With no obstacle from the General, my rapier appeared in my hand as I waited for the violet vidette who was walking toward me with a relaxed face.
The violet vidette is a Rhinoman, which is holding a simple saber unlike the normal Grimm Monsters or humans; it is not wearing inheritance or bloodline armor, and its whole body is violet in color, and it looks like it is made of clay.
It is a side effect of the alchemical solution they drink during the ritual; it changes them from their very soul, destroys their inheritance, and seals their bloodline, leaving only the power of the vidette.
“I am surprised that you did not run away?” It asked as it stopped a hundred meters in front of me, “Why should I run away? You are not a Grandmaster,” I asked back.
“Hehe, I like your confidence; I hope you will last for at least a minute; otherwise, it would be no fun,” It said and walked toward me, not walked but came at an extremely fast speed, but its movements are so smooth that it felt like walking in front of me.
‘First Boost+Second Boost’
I immediately activated both boosts to their full power and, feeling the rush of power that would kill the Bearman I had fought on the battlefield last time, instantly, but in its eyes, all I saw was laugh, there is no surprise or alarm, just mirth.
CLANG!
My sword had just reached halfway when a giant saber fell on my rapier with such power that I could not imagine possible with such a casual move.
Puh!
The shock of the attack was strong enough that it made me vomit the blood instantly while I shot back like a rocket as strange volatile energy crashed into my armor.
‘Such strength,’ I said in horror as I tried to stabilize myself in the air. I had read about the vedette detailedly as I knew at some instance in the war, I would come across them and knew they would be strong opponents but had not expected they would be this strong; this strength is on a completely different level.
Just a casual attack from it instantly made the thoughts of me defeating it disappear, and thoughts of surviving appeared in my mind.
