Hun!
I was thinking about the threats this place represented when I sensed the threat. From the ground, a think dark pink energy beam is coming toward me fast.
My eyes couldn’t widen up in surprise seeing the beam, not because it was powerful but because I did not sense the monster before it had attacked me.
The beam had reached me and was about to hit me when it suddenly froze in the air. I looked at the dense pink beam, which seemed to have illusionary qualities in it, which made me even more curious, and I twirled my fingers, bringing it even close to me.
My eyes glowed slightly as I activated my ocular abilities to look at the beam clearly; a minute later, I deactivated all my abilities and took out the crystal. As I touched the crystal beam, the runes on it lit up, and it sucked the beam inside.
“You sneaky little thing, come here,” I said, and a second later, a gemmed eyes rabbit monster not bigger than my hand came flying toward me before stopping in front of me.
“You are very powerful, don’t you,” I said to it, and its meta-scan appeared in front of my eyes and a minute later, all the life in it disappeared, and it appeared in my core.
This monster was just a Grandmaster class, but it was able to launch a sneak attack on me. A Grandmaster would have been powerless against the attack. Seeing that, I finally begin to take the monster of this ruin seriously as Lady Redhorn had held me to.
The ruin is dangerous, but the powerful High Grandmaster, Lady Redhorn with powerful, will resist the effect of the imprints for a day or two easily with various methods.
The one that had forced her to retreat was an attack; she had said she never saw her assailant. She just knew it was the attack of the level of High-Grandmaster, and it was very wise of her to retreat the moment she hit with attack; if she had stayed for even a few said, she would have been dead meat.
“Guys, be careful,” I informed Ashlyn and Nero and also became cautious myself, spreading my soul sense as far as I could.
Though, currently, I could only spread it to half distance. It is not suppression; this ruin did not have any. It is the soul cleansing method that I am constantly circulating; it restricts the range of my soul sense, which I don’t like, but am forced to accept.
The soul cleansing method is a must in this ruin, and for it, I am even willing to sacrifice half of the range of my soul sense, which will help me detect the danger faster.
Three hours passed by, and in these three hours, I was attacked by numerous times, but all of them were exclusively the Grandmaster. I had sensed the presence of the High-Grandmaster class monster, but it had disappeared before I could certain its position.
As I flew disappointed, expressions couldn’t help but appear on my face; I had crossed hundreds of miles but saw no signs of thing that gave us intense reading.
Even though the ruin is big, I should have sensed it by now; given how big the reaction had been that our sensors from the huge distance were able to catch it but now, even after coming to the ruins, I sense it, not even a slightest residual aura of it.
“Have you guys sensed anything yet?” I asked two of them.

Chew Chew, “No, father, everything is blank here,” Nero replied, which disappointed me even further, but I did not let it eat into me.
I refuse to believe such an intense reaction that could be a sense that a pyramid from the mainland could hide in its own world. I will sense it; even if I find a residue of it, it will be enough; with the help of Ashlyn and Nero, I will reach it there.
Another two hours passed, and I was pretty sure that a High-Grandmaster was following me. It is maintaining a great distance that even my soul sense could not reach and is using a very powerful hiding method, more powerful than what little Grandmasters are using.
I have decoded the hiding method of these Grandmasters, and I have to say, it is ingenious and simple.
These bastards are simply melding in the law that is present in every part of the world and which makes them very difficult to see, even when they are standing right in front of me. It is how a chameleon hides by changing its colors to its environment.
“Father, I sensed it!”
I was once again fruitlessly trying to ascertain the direction of the monster when suddenly Nero spoke and hearing his words, I forgot all my worries about the monster in an instant.
“Really? How far it is? Can you guess the direction?” I asked excitedly, as finally, after all these hours, I had got good news. “It is very far, father, but I could sense its direction,” Nero said and moved toward the left while gloating at Ashlyn, who had also changed her direction.
“Nero, how are you sensing it?” I asked, interrupting his gloating session. “Oh, I just melded myself into the law, like how these little monsters were doing and sensed through it,” He answered, and I couldn’t help but shake my head at that.
Even having rule-bending power, I could not achieve that; he is talking about melding into the law; it is not easy, even for the monster born here.
From what I observe, this skill is only available to the Grandmasters here, and even not all Grandmasters can do it. I have seen some trying and utterly failing.
“You have done a good job, Nero; I am proud of you,” I praised, “It is nothing special, father,” Nero replied while literally shaking in joy by my praise.
Saying he loved praises would be an understatement; he lives for them. If there are two things he loves more than food, then it would be praise and gloating Ashlyn. I tried to change his behavior as it is not healthy, but it was futile; he was far too gone to be fixed.
With Nero sensing the source, I increased my speed even further but also became more cautious when I sensed the monster was still following me.
I have to say the monster is quite patient; I have come across patient monsters before, but they would barely follow me for an hour before attacking, but this one is following me for more than three hours and does not seem to be in the mood to attack.
Though I understand it could attack at any moment, if the monster thought it could kill me, it would attack, and so, I am prepared.
Hun!
About two hours passed when I sensed a feeling of intense danger, and a moment later, I saw it materializing a few hundred meters away from me. In the range of my soul sense, without me even sensing its presence.
It is much smaller than I had expected the monster of its level would be, but its aura is powerful enough that I immediately summoned my totem artifact.
I will not take any risk against this dangerous enemy.
