Slowly opening my eyes, I found myself staring at the cloudy blue sky above.
I tried to twitch my fingers, and could feel a sense of numbness in them. A pleasant wind brushed past my face, sending dirt particles and some small dried leaves and grass drifting above my face.
Heav took in a deep breath, filling my lungs to their maximum air capacity before releasing it all.
The unpleasant yet somewhat pleasant sensation of half-grown grass rubbing my face and exposed skin, making it itch was weirdly extraordinary. I could feel everything so clearly that I was starting to doubt my own senses.
'When did I get so sensitive?'
"Ugh."
I got up, with a groan escaping my mouth, not because I was feeling pain somewhere, but because it was hard to stand up with the current numbness.
Phefter letting out another sigh, I dusted the dirt off from my clothes and rubbed my face with the sleeves of my suit. Looking around, I can see a forest just half a mile away.
I turned around to check my surroundings and finally realized where I was.
'The capital city of Crisedia!'
I couldn't help but exclaim as I saw the huge city walls, even bigger buildings, and the big and extravagant royal palace at the end of this unending city.
The city seemed closer to the dense forest, and I could see two paths that led to different parts of the nation. There was another path, but it was covered with grass, indicating that few people used this route. This was the path that led to the huge forest.
"So this is Malta forest, huh."
After dusting off everything from my body, I checked my inventory and everything seemed fine in it. I checked my status window, and again everything looked normal, except for the fact that I had gained a bit of experience. One more thing…..

'Nice… My heroic stat grew, although the old coachman wasn't really that helpless of a man.'
I suddenly felt like a busybody for even trying to help a monster like him. He played all helpless and almost got me killed in the process.
'Oh wait, wasn't he trying to make me run away. Maybe because he wanted to take care of them alone when no one was witnessing? Ah, so it's like that.'
Suddenly realizing that I couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed.
Since the old man was kind enough to deliver me to the place I wanted to go, I could say that I owed him one, or two, since he saved my life, so I didn't have to lose a level.

Reaching the huge city gate, made out of some kind of red-ish metal that had some elegant carving, I joined in the fray of hundreds of people going in and out of the city. What was surprising was the fact that as much as the Human species NPCs were here, there were also a lot of non-humans mixed in.
On the other hand, most of the players had the human race, not because they loved being human so much, but because they lacked the skill and luck to change their race to something else. Since it was still the early phases of the game, there were very limited race options, including the goblin race.
Not many wanted to turn into a goblin, and so most players were waiting till they encountered a quest that gives them a good race, or till some other races become available for selection openly.
In [Mayhem], a fortune was only given to those who looked for it, and hence, for months all I did was fortune-hunting, although it didn't pay off much.
If someone knew that I had a legendary class and was saying that the fortune-hunting didn't pay off, I am sure I would be chased by many players just because of the indignation that they would feel.
"Put your hand on the crystal."
As my turn came, the guard in metal armour from top to bottom asked me to put my hand on the crystal ball placed on the table just in front of me.
It was a crystal ball that showed people's basic status, their name, job, and class. This was to check if someone was a criminal or not. All criminals would receive jobs like a thief, bandits, murderers, and so on until their infamy was high.
Infamy was a system where people who killed other players and NPCs out of a duel would receive a temporary penalty from the system. The chances of their items being dropped after being killed increases exponentially and they would receive temporary criminal jobs, making them unable to get past any city gate. Of course, there must be a way around it too, but I didn't know it since I wasn't a criminal myself.
Nervous that they didn't find out about the legendary class, I placed my hand on the transparent crystal ball, as well as prepared my legs to run as soon as they found out I had a legendary class.
"Shura, An Alchemist. You may pass."
The guard in chained armour said, and the guy sitting beside the desk noted down my name.
'Well, that was easy.'
So my legendary class won't reveal itself everywhere easily, which is a good thing.
Entering the royal capital of Crisedia, what would greet you first was the market area of the capital. It was bustling with noisy people as players and NPCs alike sold and bought items, some of them being in heated negotiations.
I didn't plan to stay in the market for long so I decided to move along deeper inside the city.
But as I was walking, a vendor's shouting garnered my attention. It was a tanned, middle-aged man with a white scarf tied to his head as if he was from the times of Arabian nights.
"Buy the medicine for regrets! Buy the medicine for regrets! Just 10 gold per bottle."
He kept shouting, even though he had enough customers at his stall who kept buying something or the other.
Curious, I went towards him. The supposed 'medicine for regrets' was in porcelain bottles with a wooden cap.
"Can I have a look?"
I asked and the vendor immediately gave me a hostile look.
"Pay up if you want to buy the stuff. There is no window shopping here. I've got enough customers to deal with."
His way of talking indeed seemed like he had earned more than enough, and hence he didn't care if a single customer returned without buying.
[Night Alchemist's Appraisal has been activated. Items below the epic level can't escape your discerning eyes.]
[Medicine of Regretype - Consumablrade - Norma type of alcoholic beverage that is very potent. It comes with severe side effects of addiction and symptoms of body weakening.]
'So this is how it works. Interesting.'
I smiled mischievously as I went beside the vendor and put my left on his shoulder as I whispered in his ears.
"Well, you do realize you're doing illegal business by selling alcohol without the approval of the council of merchants, right?"
The vendor visibly looked a bit agitated as he immediately composed himself, and said in a loud voice, as if he had been wronged.
"What are you talking about? Can't you see this is a medicine stall?''
"Yeah, and there's no better medicine than alcohol for regrets. I would not be so loud if I were you. You know? I am an alchemist and I can see through each of your so-called medicines in an instant. Now tell me, do you really want to cause a scene? Or I suggest that we handle it quietly like the grown-ups we are."

Looking at the 1000 additional gold coins in my inventory, I couldn't help but feel a bit giddy inside me, this appraisal skill was best to con some conmen.
Right now, I am going to Morris' Alchemy house. It was something recommended by the crook who was selling the medicine for regrets. I had asked him if he knew any recipes, as he did have some medicines on the stall. He said he was just a normal vendor and he would even sell sand if it was marketable enough.
He recommended going to Marris' Alchemy house, currently one of the biggest stores for medicines and recipes in the royal capital of crisedia.
Reaching the place after around from people, I felt dumb for not realizing it sooner. One of the huge and tall buildings, made out of white and blue themed wood and metal, and pillars and floorings made out of white marble. It was truly a sight to behold.
Going inside, I could see sign boards indicating where to go for a certain thing, which was a very logical thing, otherwise, people would get lost every second.
As I checked the various signboards, I found the one leading towards the venoms and antidotes section.
I walked towards the area which held poisons and antidotes without being aware of the pair of eyes that had been scrutinising me ever since I entered the building.
