My father knitted his brows. “What are you talking about, Little Ran? I don’t quite understand what you mean. Drugged?”
I looked up at Jiang Yu.
I could tell that Jiang Yu had been deliberating for a long time, but she couldn’t find a suitable explanation. So, she resorted to pushing the blame onto me.
“Sis, how could you say that? We drank quite a bit last night with CEO Huang, and I was fine. How could something happen to you?”
I calmed myself down and got up to approach her. “Accident? If I killed you and told the police that it was an accident, do you think anyone would believe me?”
Jiang Yu pretended to be like an innocent white lotus. She frowned and said seriously, “Sister, you can’t compare the two.”
Before she could continue, Jiang Yu’s tears welled up. Her voice choked. “I know you’ve never liked me, but it wasn’t my doing. I won’t admit it, no matter what.”
My dad instantly became agitated.
“Jiang Ran, don’t be too aggressive. Your sister isn’t that kind of person. How could she harm her own family? You can’t slander her with such words!”
What a slander.
It seemed like I had to drive Jiang Yu out of Tian Sheng on that day.
“I was just discharged from the hospital. The doctor detected some hallucinogenic drugs in my blood and told me to call the police…”
Jiang Yu’s expression froze.
I changed the topic. “Dad, do you have proof that I’m slandering her? You don’t, but I do!”
“Come to think of it, Jiang Yu has caused such a grave impact on the company this time. How could she still stay? She was originally parachuted into the company, hence it’s not too late to revert the situation. If you don’t agree, then we can only hold a corporate election with the shareholders.”
As soon as I finished speaking, the room instantly went dead silent.
“I hope you can give me a satisfactory answer.”
I left without looking back as I felt little nostalgia for everything there. The only thing I felt was indignation.
After a long day, it was already dark when I returned to the Chilly Mountain Villa. When I passed by the study, I smelled a pungent odor. A strong smell of tobacco filled the entire space.
The faint silhouette in the study was Fu Hansheng.
From the looks of it, he had something on his mind.
I knocked on the door and asked politely, “President Fu, are you in a bad mood?”
He never smoked. At least, I never saw him do it.
He glanced up and smothered the cigarette butt in the ashtray. His dark pupils revealed a mysterious emotion. The light from the computer screen reflected off his face, making him look exceptionally sinister.
I was terrified.
Wasn’t that akin to a sheep walking into a tiger’s den? I had brought it upon myself. Why did I provoke him for no reason?
“Come here.”
He didn’t move from his seat while he instructed me. It was smooth.
I was dumbfounded for a moment before slowly inching forwards. I smiled apologetically and said, “If you have any instructions for me, just tell me. You don’t have to be so courteous to me. Haha.”
Just when I got closer to him, he suddenly reached out and pulled me into his arms. He locked his hands around my waist and I couldn’t move.
“Fu Hansheng!” I smacked his hand, but he was unmoved.
I stopped struggling.
“Has smoking made you drunk? The person you’re hugging right now is Jiang Ran, the person you hate the most,” I kindly reminded him.
Only when I got close up to him did I realize his nose was like a sculpture. He was handsome to the point of perfection. His eyelashes were curly and perky, which made him seem even more feminine than a woman.
“How do you retrieve a password that you have forgotten?” He asked out of the blue. I was instantly stunned and stared at him with a puzzled look.
I followed his gaze and saw that he was logging into his email. The browser stopped at the log-in page. Evidently, he had tried many times, but to no avail.
He had stopped using the cell phone number that was linked to that account. If he wanted to change it now, he could only think of the password or lodge a complaint.
He frowned, looking anxious.
“Uh, you can contact customer service for help. I haven’t done that before, so I’m not sure,” I replied. Then, I reached out to pry off his iron-like arms, but he still firmly restrained me.
I glanced at him. “You’re hugging me just because of a password? Why do you suddenly want to log into your email? You don’t even use this account, so why do you care about it?”
“Can I retrieve them?”
“Huh?”
He stared at me with his dark eyes. They were so enigmatic that my heart pounded frantically. What was wrong with this guy?
Puzzled, I asked, “Can you be clearer?”
He frowned. “There are a lot of things in there that are very precious to me. If I lose them, can I still find them? Whatever. If I lose things in the past, so be it.”
I couldn’t make sense of it. He was so unclear.
When he threw me away, I almost lost my balance and fell back onto him.
I gritted my teeth. That person must have done it on purpose!
When I returned to my room, I received a call from Qiao Qiao. Her tone was a little excited as she excitedly reported something to me.
“Weren’t you looking for the photographer’s contact information the last time? Qi Min successfully contacted him. Do you have time to meet him?”

I frowned. “Didn’t you say there was no news last time?”
Qiaoqiao was exasperated and scolded me.
“We don’t even know when the marriage between you and Fu Hansheng will end tragically. Since it hasn’t happened yet, you might as well go out and interact more with other people! The fact that this person took photos of you secretly six years ago means that he has some feelings for you. Such devotion is rare in this world!”
I rolled my eyes. I was speechless. “Pfft! Pfft! Are you cursing me to become an abandoned wife of a rich family?”
“Even so, you’d still be a young and beautiful divorced woman. If worse comes to worst, I will support you. Oh, right, he sent you a WeChat message. Remember to add him..”
