Chapter 482: Divorce?

“Into the court.” the Princess Consort said with determination.

Shao realized that something was wrong, though there was no sound of argument arising from the room.

However, she would always be with Princess Consort whenever she went. Shao followed her…

When the Princess Consort married into the Lord Ling’s Mansion, Shao was the only one around. And now, Shao was the only maid she took with her out of the mansion.

Zhou Huailing did not ask anyone to stop her, so the Princess Consort had a very smooth journey on the way to the court.

When Xie Yan informed Zhou Huailing about this matter, the Princess Consort was already out of the mansion for a long while.

Zhou Huailing asked with disbelief. “Are you sure?”

“Yes. She has been out of the mansion for a long while.” Xie Yan answered. He was, after all, worried. The Princess Consort was a stubborn lady, different from the other ordinary girls. What was more, the Princess Consort was General Liu’s daughter and General Liu was holding large military forces, which were very beneficial for Lord Ling. If they broke up because of these matters, Lord Ling would be faced with a disadvantageous situation. So he said, “Lord, maybe you should catch up with her to see what is happening.”

Zhou Huailing struck the teacup onto the table and said, “No!” He had thought that the Princess Consort was a sensible lady, but she turned out ot be so stupid instead.

“Just let her do it. She is stuck with some ideas. She will regret it when she comes to the court. She won’t divorce me!” Zhou Huailing said with disbelief on his face. “She is General Liu’s daughter, but she is already married to me. Who else would dare to marry her after she divorces me!”

“…”

“She will understand the whole thing when she gives it some more thoughts. She may keep a position as Princess Concubine if we stay married, and I even promised her son a position of heir. She will have nothing when she divorces me.”

“…”

“She is not a dumb woman and she can understand some things.”

“…”

“Xie Yan, don’t get so startled. She will probably have a conversation with Father who might not approve of her proposal!” Zhou Huailing said and shook his head at Xie Yan. Xie Yan was way too young. He had been making a fuss over such a minor thing.

Xie Yan was not suitable to accompany him for major achievements. Luckily, he had hired some other strategists at the mansion.

He waved his hands at Xie Yan. “Anyway, stop being startled. Leave this alone now.”

Xie Yan wanted to say something more, but he eventually gave up.

He found that Lord Ling was getting more and more distant from him, and he did not want to make himself look too annoying. So he nodded and left.

In the court.

At the imperial study. The Princess Consort had no intention of giving up. This time, she was determined to get divorced.

The King did feel a little bit regretful to have not persuaded Ling not to do such a thing. He was not aware of his own Princess Consort, and he had overestimated himself. Now he was in a very awkward position.

“Princess Consort, are you sure about this?” The King added. “You should have talked with Ling first before getting so irrational.”

Before the Princess Consort answered, he added. “I will give you one month for consideration. If you still want to get divorced after one month, then I will approve of that directly.”
