On the second floor there were men in orange jump suits waiting for me. They were black, Arab, white, and Mexican all covered in tattoos with a single distinction. Each of them had a series of numbers tattooed on their chest even if it went over other tattoos. They were all numbers with 4 digits, and a few were only one digit off another and I couldn’t sense them. Red lightning scattered off their bodies and one roared as bladed tentacle grew along his body.
I drew my zanpakuto and threw an aura sphere with my off hand. Each of them flashed forward with werewolf speed. The ends of their tentacles opened with snake maws ready to petrify me even as acid dripped from the snakes’ fangs. My mind focused on channeling the wind for my first two air strikes. After that I wouldn’t have time to concentrate on anything more than slashing and punching. For the start of that fight, I held my cloak back for when I needed it.
My first slash was horizontal thin exploding with a barely held back air current. The windows around the building exploded as the slash landed bisecting the men too slow to dodge. My second strike cut the remaining test subjects in half before I began to slash and stab.
Limbs flew around the room and each cut pissed me off a little more. I didn’t know the story of these guys, but they had been used and discarded to slow me down. Whoever made the drug didn’t need them anymore and this was the most cost-effective way to get rid of them.
The monstrous men’s tentacles filled the room deafening me with their hissing as I cut them. More of them grew from the stumps of those I sliced off until they numbered well into the thousands. At the speed of the prisoners and me soon to be burned out body I was losing stamina and receiving nicks. They were boxing me in while those on the ground slowly put themselves back together. My back hit a corner and there was nowhere else to dodge. There was only one more move I could make. I ducked under a flurry of striking snakes and felt my qi push beneath my feet.
“Like this,” my zanpakuto said before I vanished at ludicrous speeds. I hit a steel beam and it bend in half nearly collapsing part of the floor above before I stopped. When I turned to look at the path, I had traveled with my impromptu flash step there was a trail of gore in my wake.
“Normally a human body wouldn’t be protected by spiritual pressure very well but your qi acts as a great medium. Can you feel your spiritual pressure radiating from your spiritual power? It’s mixed in with your qi, but you should be able to feel the difference.” I nodded slowly.
There was something mixed in with my qi that hadn’t been there before I gained my zanpakuto. I barely felt it, but it was there. Once aware it opened new doors for me. More of the snakes attacked but they couldn’t cut deep enough to hurt me, and their acid didn’t do them much good. Like with my qi my spiritual power was finite. My body was already nearing its limits so, I raised my blade and slashed.
An air slash cut through the remaining monsters this time striking something important. I felt something pop and several of them bloated before violently exploding. Several of the test subjects flew out the building before I cut another one down and backed away before it too exploded. It was faint but there was a tiny flicker of youki within each of them regulating their power. It had less youki in it than a gnat but once I noticed it their weak spots were obvious.
I moved on to each one cutting their youki cores and letting them explode. Sometimes they took friends with them when they blew.
Once I figured out how to kill them the rest was easy. I dispatched all of them in my path and climbed higher. Other stronger test subjects faired no better. Their cores were just as noticeable when I knew where to look. Each core was no larger than a plastic bead but once found they could be destroyed.
After dispatching the last one I climbed up the last stairs. It was there that I saw Kuyo and the man in the trench coat. Neither looked surprised to see me and frantic to escape from the guy slaughtering their men. I could only conclude they were mentally deficient. Then again, they were on the equivalent of gene therapeutics with an added blend of meth to spice things up. It took a monster’s natural instincts and dialed them up well beyond 11. I flicked the blood from my zanpakuto at their feet splattering it all over the floor.
Kuyo spoke while I tapped my foot. “Humans to my left, humans in front of me, and humans in my building. Your kind are virulent you even invaded a school only for monsters. Were your own schools not enough?” Kuyo said.
I paced back and forth waiting for him to take the drug so I could get rid of him, take a shower, and fuck my wife. We were married she said so and that was the story I was sticking with. I had innocent blood on my hands even if they did something to deserve becoming test subjects. No one should be subjected to becoming fodder. It was against everything I stood for, if they had to be used like that then they should have been disposed of later. Being a prisoner in my own body was something I hadn’t really contemplated until I saw it for myself.
“Are you even paying attention to me?”
“No take the drug and be destroyed or don’t and be destroyed it makes no difference to me. Even if I have to reduce this place to a smoking crater, I will destroy the both of you.” I pointed to the kitsune. “You will be destroyed for burning my farm and allowing these pieces of trash to do this in our school.” I pointed to the man in a trench coat who smiled. He exposed that he was wearing a Kato mask. “What you did to those men,” I stopped my pacing it wasn’t enough to contain what I was feeling. “Run to furthest corners of the earth and keep running or face obliteration.” I said.

“Charming but why would I leave when I’m nearly done here. Kuyo here is more than kind enough to help me finish testing the final product. I thought you would appreciate seeing the human trials in action. We thought giving them a product of the later stages might fix them, but it wasn’t enough. Curing them isn’t an option anymore thanks to you.”
I forced myself to calm down and embrace the universe. The only way to access the full force of my power was to not only calm down but to calm my thoughts. Only a clear focused mind could wield something as powerful as an all-purpose solid aura manifestation.
My dark green high collared aura cloak appeared around me, and I felt my power rise with it. The aura cloak had increased in power again when I wasn’t looking. My new spiritual awareness had caused its color to darken, and it felt more solid than before. My spiritual pressure radiated from me like a physical force shattering the glass around me. I managed to clear my thoughts somehow, but the rage continued to bubble underneath. I knew what I needed to do and there was no sense in holding back now.
I decided to offer them an olive branch. A token gesture to say I had given them a way out of this. When we wrote the paper, I would report that I gave them a chance. “This is your last chance to surrender. If you put your hands on the ground right now and give up this foolishness, I will give you reasonable terms of surrender. Show me that you’ve seen the error of your ways and I’ll let you leave with your life, but your drugs stay here.”
“Impossible we’ve already shipped out the current model. And we promised the church our soon to be finished product.”
I clenched my fist with rage, and I felt my spiritual pressure increase. Somehow my cloak remained despite the fact that all I wanted was to destroy. The metal pillars holding up the building creaked and groaned as more pressure leaked from my spiritual power.
“Go ahead and take the drug and show this mere superhuman what a super monster can do.” The trench cloak wearing man said.
Kuyo looked between me and the trench coat wearing human beside him. A fox tail pierced the trench coat wearing man’s torso before the man’s body erupted in flames.
“If there was any glass left on this floor, I would recommend looking into a window to see your reflection. You don’t look very human to me. Is this your true form?” Kuyo said while staring at the drug in his hand.
“Yes, this is my truest state of being.” I said.
“Did you require a drug or other technology to reach this state?” Kuyo asked.
“No through training I eventually reached this state. As I train more it will become more pronounced.” I said.
“So, you’re more like a witch or wizard than a human. Some might call you a different classification of wizard and be done with it. Your garden was against school regulations and many students complained about attacks from monster plants. We normally require such places to be fenced in and to have signs warning students of the dangers. Your farm looks like a normal human farm from a distance. I thought it was a joke until I tried to eat a grape.” Kuyo said.
“They are one of my most aggressive crops.” We stared off from one another. “The headmaster ordered me to bring you in if you comply, I’ll ask for mercy on your behalf.” I said.
“You haven’t dropped your battle form. We both know this can only end in a fight and you don’t have your plant kaiju to help you now.”
Kuyo tossed the pill in his mouth as I flash stepped across the room. Aura sphere appeared in my left hand aimed for his head. Suddenly I felt a massive increase in his youki before it condenses into a single tiny point. Kuyo caught my aura sphere in his hand and our fight morphed into a battle of strength.
