[ Black Lotus Cult - Demon Prison Cave ]

[ Xie Dongyi's POV ]

Every day, I felt alone and isolated in this damned place.

People I used to call friends would look at me in disgust as I walked by them.

Just because of my low-grade spiritual roots I have to suffer.

Why do I have to suffer because of something out of my control?

( ~ Slap ~ )

The sound of slapping and the sudden spike of pain caused me to look up as I found myself face to face with Lin Huang, one of the children who had a much more powerful spiritual root.

" You worthless piece of trash dare to ignore me!" Lin Huang screamed as he hit me.

" I already told you if you want to be a part of my group then you had to be the dummy. What dummy strikes back; huh ?!"

Lin Huang's words seemed so illogical that I blurted out.

" Then what did you want me to do, you imbecile ?"

" Imbecile; Imbecile!" Lin Huang shouted before striking his staff onto my knees causing me to flinch Lin Huang struck my arms causing me to scream out in pain.

" Huh, say it again !" Lin Huang shouted before he struck the weeping Xie Dongyi.

" Cry like a loser, you trash!" Lin Huang said before spitting on Xie Dongyi as he went away.

Xie Dongyi gazed upon Lin Huang's back as he thought.

Just you wait you bastard, I'll give this pain back a hundred times over.

( ~ Knock ~ )

A somewhat injured Xie Dongyi knocked on Ye Mo's door.

A few minutes later, the door opened revealing a sweaty Ye Mo.

" What do you want ?"

" I thought about it and I will do it as long as you keep your end of the bargain."

Ye Mo smirked and clasped Xie Dongyi's shoulder.

" I give you my word. Wait, for me outside in a few hours. Prepare a dagger to go with it." Ye Mo ordered before closing the door he turned to his bed where a blonde-haired girl in skimpy clothing was waiting for him.

" Where were we ?"

[ POV Change ]

Walking through the path in the bamboo forest, illuminated by the twin moons in the sky I couldn't help but sigh.

Alexander's journals and other books were confusing.

The otherworldly man had written down a lot of information that I still couldn't understand.

Hearing the patter of feet, I stopped as I found myself face to face with the androgynous boy; Xie Dongyi.

" Brother, I need to tell you something. Ye Mo and his goons are waiting in ambush for you."

" You might be a little late," I said causing Xie Dongyi to look at me in shock.

" You can come out," I said as Ye Mo and a few others emerged from behind the bamboo trees.

Each had a weapon in hand.

" You bastard, I show you why you should've never messed with me !" Ye Mo shouted while pointing his spear toward me.

" Oh, if I apologize then will you let me go ?" I asked causing everyone to be taken aback.

Ye Mo smirked before spitting on his feet.

" Lick it and I will let you go."

I smiled and nodded.

" But first, give me your sword."

I unbuckled my saber and threw them to Ye Mo.

Onto my knees, I crawled towards Ye Mo, and just as I was within arms reach, I immediately grabbed a handful of sand and threw them at Ye Mo's face.

" ahhhhhhhh!" Ye Mo screamed as I quickly grabbed my saber and sliced off the head of Ye Mo's spear.

Twisting on the heels of my feet, I slammed the flat part of my saber towards a metallic spiked ball thrown towards me.

Feeling a presence behind me, I pushed on the ground with every bit of strength.

" Seven Star Saber Art: Crescent Moon "

Even if it was rough around the edges, I had successfully performed the first stance of my martial art technique as my body twisted into a backflip resulting in my effortless dodge of one of Ye Mo's goons.

Landing on the ground, my technique would have to follow up with a horizontal slash but since I didn't want to kill, I just attacked by slamming my handle into the goon's face and knocking his teeth out.

Placing my saber vertically between my chest and my face, I stared at Ye Mo and his 4 goons who were looking at me with anger in their eyes.

Technically speaking, they had the numbers advantage along with powerful spiritual roots so why was I beating them so soundly?

I am sure this was what these idiots were thinking. Thank whatever deity was out there for giving me Alexander's scrolls and journals. With Alexander's notes on the Seven Star Saber technique and the Thunder hummingbird technique, I outclassed everyone in both physical and fighting prowess for now at least.

" Ahhh !" Suddenly Xie Dongyi lunged toward me with a dagger flashing from his cloak.

Ye Mo smirked as his plan of having Xie Dongyi betray the red-haired bastard worked.

My eyes widened as Xie Dongyi's came closer and closer.

There was no time to think, there was no time to form a plan as I instinctively out of my sense of survival perform the first stance of the Thunder hummingbird technique.

" Thunder Hummingbird Art: First Circle."

Lashing out with my foot onto Xie Dongyi, I kicked him into the Bamboo forest while my kick turned into a sweeping motion followed by an upward slash.

( ~ Sling ~ )

Blood spurted out as my saber slashed through Ye Mo's shoulder cutting off his arm.

Dodging Ye Mo's body, I turned towards his goons who gulped at seeing Ye Mo screaming on the ground bloodied up with no right arm.

They quickly threw their weapons onto the ground and ran away.

Ye Mo meanwhile looked at me in fear as he held onto his shoulder which was missing a limb.

Fighting through the mind-numbing pain, Ye Mo ran off.

I meanwhile released a breath I was holding as I flinched when I felt the pain of my torn muscles.

The strength and speed of the Thunder hummingbird technique were still something my body wasn't used to.

Releasing my saber, I looked at Ye Mo's dismembered limb.

This was for the best, that bastard wouldn't try to find trouble with me but what about Yue Fei and the servants?

How will they act? It's not like I killed them so I should receive a light punishment.

Remembering Xie Dongyi, I immediately looked towards the broken bamboo trees but what followed after wasn't more bamboo rather it was a deep ditch.

A sense of dread filled my heart as I limped toward the ditch.

With the light provided by the lanterns on the path, I saw Xie Dongyi lying inside the ditch with his skull cracked open as blood piled up beside his head.

Oh no!

I thought as I jumped down.
