There was no movement inside the coffin.
However, Madam Ghost Child thought his words sounded oddly familiar.
Back in the Visitation Hall, Curator seemed to have told her babyface spider the same thing.
“As expected of Curator’s disciple. Even their manner of speech is similar,” Madam Ghost Child suddenly said.
Since there was no movement inside, Lin Jin had no choice but to say, “If you won’t come out, I’ll just have to pull you out.”
Having said that, he dove his arm inside the coffin.
This was a mind-numbing scene. Black Crow had seen something similar before so he felt alright but Evil Scholar was getting goosebumps.
Although he had never seen the creature before, he knew that Coffin Man’s pet beast was an absolute deviant even among uncommon beasts. That thing was a monster.
Yet, Appraiser Lin seemed unafraid as he reached over to grab it.
What courage! What spirit!
Evil Scholar was instantly convinced. If it were him, he would never do such a thing.
Even the white cat in Lin Jin’s arms was frightened, its fur standing up on end. It stopped licking the pill and stared apprehensively into the coffin with fear in its eyes. That thing inside was scaring it.
Lin Jin caressed the cat’s neck with one hand while grabbing one of the zombie cthulhu’s tentacles with another, wanting to pull him out.
Yet, this zombie cthulhu was a stubborn one. He wouldn’t budge no matter how Lin Jin tugged at him.
This must be an issue of character.
Lin Jin didn’t want to force him. He already observed what he needed to learn. This zombie cthulhu was truly one of the strangest beasts in this world. Even to Lin Jin, the creature was too unsightly. It was no wonder he was so introverted and disliked meeting people.
He was too ugly.
However, his strength was not to be doubted. Compared to Madam Ghost Child’s babyface spider, the zombie cthulhu was only slightly inferior. His greatest weapon was how he could reach up to a hundred feet after extending his tentacles. These tentacles were incredibly sturdy like steel whip chains that could effortlessly shatter huge rocks.
In addition, the zombie cthulhu had another extraordinary skill but it hadn’t made a full recovery yet so he couldn’t do it now.
Lin Jin had previously appraised him through his blood. But now, after physically touching and seeing him, he gained new information. Strictly speaking, this zombie cthulhu was in a serious condition. The symbiosis had been cut off mainly to save Coffin Man but it, in turn, had worsened the zombie cthulhu’s condition.
Not only that but the zombie cthulhu was also disabled. A few of his tentacles seemed to have been forcefully ripped off, just like a human having his arm tore away.
For so many years, this guy must have suffered great hardships and pain.
Lin Jin patted him on his head before flicking out a wave of needles, piercing them into several of the zombie cthulhu’s main acupoints.
This was to ease his pain.
Every time he attacked, brandishing his steel-like tentacles, the zombie cthulhu would end up tearing his wounds open, harming his opponent as well as himself. In the battle with the old dragon, he had gained new injuries.
Although the zombie cthulhu never said anything, Lin Jin could tell through appraisal.
After administering the needles, the zombie cthulhu visibly relaxed. Lin Jin patted him.
“Wait a moment. I’ll let the white cat evolve first and treat you later.”
His tone sounded like that of an old-time friend’s. No one in the room dared to speak. Then, Evil Scholar came to realize that Lin Jin had just mentioned he would help the white cat evolve.

Immediately, Evil Scholar was thrilled.
The white cat was currently a Rank 3. If it evolved, would that make it Rank 4?
Compared to Rank 3, a Rank 4 wasn’t simply just a one-level improvement. In this world, only a scarce number of beasts could ever achieve Rank 4.
Taking a deep breath, Evil Scholar filled himself with anticipation, thinking if his white cat became Rank 4, his ranking in the villainous experts’ community would definitely increase.
Now, he dared not make any disturbance. He didn’t even dare to fart.
The white cat had finally licked off the entire spirit gathering pill. Lin Jin knew it was almost ready so he administered acupuncture to activate the white cat’s veins.
The next instant, it visibly enlarged, growing quickly to the size of a leopard. Then, the fur on its body fell away as its bones lengthened with emerald light glowing in its eyes.
Meow!
It let out a cry and a shadow emerged from the white cat. It looked like a ferocious beast and continued to shape-shift mysteriously. After this shadow appeared, many beasts inside the royal capital curled up in fright.
The shadow continued to shape-shift but the only thing that never changed was its large mouth.
This mouth was like a black hole that would devour everything.
As they listened to the crisp sounds of the white cat’s bones transforming, watching as new fur grew and how its size changed, Black Crow uttered involuntarily, “This is rebirth!”
Every pet beast would experience rebirth when they entered Rank 3, but it might not happen when they entered Rank 4. The white cat had clearly experienced it before, but this time, being able to experience it again meant that its evolution was being facilitated by an incredibly skillful individual.
Black Crow recalled how hard it had been back then when his black falcon evolved into Rank 4.
Despite calling it hard, it was still rather simple. Back then, to obtain a chance for his black falcon to evolve, Black Crow had to compete with ten other experts. It was a slaughter festival, all so to please the Rank 4 beast appraiser enough to help his black falcon evolve.
Besides this, Black Crow remembered the process clearly as well. The black falcon had had to suffer near-death experiences for three days and nights, wailing in agony, but even so, he never experienced rebirth one more time. Also, Black Crow had had to use one year to gather various valuable ingredients, spending a fortune just so the black falcon could evolve.
But now, Scholar’s cat had already evolved into Rank 4.
And the process had been incredibly relaxing and simple.
This was thanks to having an expert facilitate the process. Could this mean that Appraiser Lin was even more skilled than that Rank 4 beast appraiser?
It must be Curator’s exceptional teachings.
Black Crow shook his head. There wasn’t a single Rank 4 beast appraiser in Jade Dragon Kingdom. If there was, this nation would have reached peak intermediate status.
The other three were staring on with heated gazes.
Evil Scholar was so excited, rubbing his hands together, unable to contain himself. The other two had Rank 4 pet beasts too but they watched on with great curiosity.
They had never seen such an evolution method before.
Madam Ghost Child and Coffin Man’s pet beasts were already Rank 4 for quite some time now. Still, their pet beasts’ evolution processes had been soul-stirring experiences. Aside from the countless treasures they had to gather, all those preparations and care were far too extensive compared to Lin Jin’s effortless attempt.
This Appraiser Lin helped the white cat evolve as if it were only something trivial.
“Done!”
Lin Jin lifted his hand, making a sweeping motion. The silver needles on the white cat were pulled out, flying back toward him, flickering in silver light. It was a delightful sight.
Perhaps only Curator’s faction possessed such skills. The group watched with fascination, thinking how incredible this acupuncture skill was. It could kill, treat, and even help pet beasts evolve. How mysterious.
Meanwhile, without needing Lin Jin to announce it, everyone here knew that the white cat had already evolved.
A Rank 4 pet beast’s aura couldn’t possibly lie.
