Old Tian was praying to the gods, begging. Everyone else watched the cocoon with great enthusiasm but suddenly, a strange thing happened.
The cocoon began to change color.
Yes, they saw it right, it was changing color.
It turned red for a moment, then green, then black, and finally blue. With every change, the cocoon was trembling as if something inside was wailing and struggling.
Old Tian’s face was covered in sweat by now. Unable to handle any more, his vision went black and he fell to the ground, unconscious.
“Quick! Pinch his philtrum!” He Qing shouted.
Ye Yuzhou nodded. As a Friar Association’s expert, he didn’t have to resort to such lowly techniques to wake an unconscious person.
“Don’t worry, I just have to jab his Ling Hui acupoint with my spirit energy finger and he’ll wake up immediately. No need to panic, everyone.” Ye Yuzhou moved quickly, displaying his accomplished skills.
With a jab of his fingers, a tiny burst of spirit energy sparked and Old Tian regained consciousness at once.
“Don’t worry, Old Tian. I won’t let you faint,” Ye Yuzhou announced.
Old Tian glanced despairingly at the damaged cocoon. “Old Ye, why did you wake me up? Let me faint. Let me faint.”
Ye Yuzhou felt awkward.
Looks like Old Tian wasn’t willing to face reality. They were now out of ideas mainly because Curator’s evaluation report only wrote this much. There was no continuation after that so they were at a loss of what to do.
Black Crow came over and patted Old Tian on his shoulder. “Old Tian, we’re all of the same Visitation Hall so we won’t just watch you die. I’ll give you one of Black Falcon’s feathers later. Hold onto it and tell those who mean you harm that if you died, I, Black Crow, will definitely pursue them and eliminate them all, leaving no one alive. I don’t think they’ll have the guts to keep harassing you.”
Looking helpless, Old Tian thought, ‘What’s the use of killing them when I’m already dead?’ But Black Crow meant well so Old Tian wouldn’t say this out loud.
Admittedly, while the Visitation Hall was filled with experts, for a case like Old Tian’s, distant aid couldn’t be of assistance. If Old Tian’s pet beast died, the odds would no doubt be against him when he returned.
Staring at the cocoon that was beginning to ooze pus, Old Tian heaved a long sigh, seeming to have resigned himself to this reality.
“Everyone, I, Tiao Bao, am just an insignificant character. I have no talent, no support, and I don’t have any achievements after being alive for more than fifty years. Still, I was lucky enough to have entered this Visitation Hall and got to know Curator and each one of you, thus, I’m satisfied enough. Now that I’m facing a crisis, I’ll be very grateful if I can make it out alive, but if I can’t, I won’t blame my fate. I can only blame myself for committing too many crimes in the earlier stages of my life. This is my karma and you don’t have to take revenge for me. I’m very grateful for all the help you have given me thus far.”
Old Tian got up and bowed at each of the visitors.
As if he was saying goodbye.
Even toward the little lass, He Qing, Old Tian bowed deeply in respect.
There was a saying that humans would come to realize many things before their imminent death. It was the same for Tian Bao. He had thought it through. What was the use of denial now that things had come to this?
The others felt uneasy seeing Old Tian behave this way.
He Qing pored over the evaluation report once again, hoping to find some clues. But to her dismay, the report truly never mentioned a situation like this.
Jiang Ziqi and Ye Yuzhou exchanged a glance as they thought of one possibility.
Perhaps it was really them who shot themselves in the foot.
In Curator’s evaluation report, he mentioned requiring the injection of one Rank 4 pet beast’s blood, and he probably meant only one type. Yet, they had been too anxious earlier that they injected the blood of three different Rank 4 pet beasts. This did more harm than good.
In a sense, they were the ones who ended up harming Old Tian’s tyrannosaurus.
Imagine the guilt they felt.
However, the roar of a dinosaur suddenly pierced through this silence.
That seemingly dried-up cocoon suddenly burst open.

In an instant, blood and flesh splattered out as a huge creature emerged from within.
It was an extremely weird-looking tyrannosaurus covered in brightly colored scales. There were at least four different colors. From his head to tail, layers of bone spikes grew unevenly on his spine. It was a harrowing sight and the creature looked brutal.
And the tyrannosaurus’ teeth…
Even figures such as Ye Yuzhou, Black Crow, and Madam Ghost Child had never seen anything like it. The beast had several rows of teeth.
“What kind of monster is this?” Ye Yuzhou’s eyes widened. His soaring cloud flood dragon became unsettled. Besides him, even the black falcon and babyface spider were restless.
If this were only a Rank 3 pet beast, the others wouldn’t have reacted this way.
Meaning to say, this mutant tyrannosaurus was now Rank 4.
Old Tian could feel it strongly.
After all, he and his pet beast were bound by a blood contract.
He could sense his pet beast’s energy again, growing stronger and stronger, to the point that he couldn’t have imagined it before.
Rank 4!
He was really a Rank 4!
Old Tian was shaking with excitement as blood rushed up to his head. Putting aside the fact that his tyrannosaurus seemed to have undergone cosmetic surgery, this aura of a Rank 4 was genuine.
As long as it was a Rank 4, what’s wrong with looking a little strange?
It didn’t matter.
This had been an intense roller coaster ride for Old Tian. His vision blacked out again and Old Tian fainted once more, albeit with a smile this time.
Black Crow and Ye Yuzhou woke him up again.
When he regained consciousness, Old Tian bowed gratefully at them once more. In this short timing, he had already thanked them twice.
“Curator’s evaluation report is awesome after all. To think the few of us managed to evolve a Rank 3 to Rank 4. We couldn’t have been able to do it without Curator’s evaluation report.” Ye Yuzhou sang praises for Curator, not daring to take credit for this incident.
Everyone agreed with him.
It was a given as they acted according to the evaluation report. None of them understood the mystery behind such tactics and why the addition of a Rank 4 pet beast’s blood could complete the evolution.
It was beyond their comprehension and they couldn’t even figure out the slightest bit of clue.
It was the same even for someone like Ye Yuzhou. In terms of beast appraising, his capabilities could be on par with a Rank 1 beast appraiser, but it was simply comparing heaven and earth when compared to Curator.
“The evolution was a success and that’s good, that’s good. Old Tian, I’m sure you’ll be able to deal with your problems once you return now,” Black Crow commented.
Old Tian kept nodding his head. “Of course!”
Thus, the initially obsequious Old Tian who had been too afraid of speaking loudly suddenly seemed tougher.
Hints of murderous aura even overflowed from his being.
After a thought, Ye Yuzhou warned him, “Old Tian, now that your pet beast evolved and his strength increased immensely, your crisis is no longer a threat. So I’d just like to remind you that Curator isn’t fond of murderers!”
Old Tian’s heart jolted at this. That sense of ecstasy immediately disappeared.
But he knew that Ye Yuzhou only meant well.
“I know this, Old Ye. Don’t worry, even if those guys had betrayed me, we still used to be sworn brothers once. If they’re willing to repent, I’ll definitely forgive them. Even if they insist on being stubborn, I’ll give them a chance. I won’t kill.”
Upon hearing this, Ye Yuzhou nodded. “That would be best. That would be best.”
