Chapter 643: A Profound Immortal’s Needle

Having lived for thousands of years, Mr. Qi had met countless experts in his life and one truth remained constant – doctors who could diagnose the illness may not be able to treat it, but those who could, definitely knew the illness.

No one expected Lin Jin to be able to tell Mr. Qi’s true identity, as well as the fact that he was severely injured.

This gave Mr. Qi a ray of hope, despite his acceptance of the fact that he wouldn’t make a full recovery.

Miao Yan Zhenren got excited too, as Mr. Qi’s injury was their sect’s greatest issue at the moment. After all, they would most likely never come across a being on Mr. Qi’s level. In terms of seniority and worth, this Qirin topped the chart. Thus, whoever could Mr. Qi’s old injuries would become their Mystery Dao Sect’s greatest benefactor.

The two of them stared straight at Lin Jin, awaiting his answer.

The next instant, Lin Jin’s lips moved to utter the words, “There is!”

Simple and clear.

Even so, hearing it thrilled Miao Yan Zhenren and Mr. Qi to no end. Due to their status and high level of cultivation, they couldn’t reveal their emotions that readily. However, a person’s eyes could never lie.

“How can it be treated?” Miao Yan Zhenren asked.

If Lin Jin proposed an idea now, he would have it verified at once. If it required any sort of treasure, he would find a way to obtain it.

Lin Jin didn’t continue.

He was going by a script he prepared. There was more than one way to treat Mr. Qi, and every solution was written in detail inside the museum. If Lin Jin wanted to, he could just read it all out.

However, he knew that the more valuable something was, the more reluctant he should be when it came to giving it away.

Mr. Qi’s injury had persisted for thousands of years, and it had worsened too. At this point, if they hadn’t come across Lin Jin, Mr. Qi’s cultivation would surely plummet in about ten years.

By sacrificing his cultivation, he was just buying precious time. If his cultivation plummeted further, he might be reduced back to a normal beast.

By then, he would be unable to maintain Transfiguration and even lose his spiritual intelligence. What difference was there between existing in such a state compared to death?

If Mr. Qi had a solution, they wouldn’t have waited until now. In other words, even profound immortals couldn’t come up with the solutions the museum provided.

What could be classified as priceless?

Sometimes, a treatment method was considered one, and Lin Jin possessed three of them.

Although unethical, it made sense for one to hoard rare commodities. For the sake of protecting himself, Lin Jin wasn’t foolish enough to offer the treatment method that readily.

With Lin Jin refusing to speak, Miao Yan Zhenren felt it was inappropriate to raise the question twice. Despite Mr. Qi’s anxiousness, he managed to hold himself back. Still, kept his eyes on Lin Jin instead.

After a long while, Lin Jin broke the silence.

“I will need time. To heal Mr. Qi’s injury, we require some precious materials.”

“That won’t be a problem,” Miao Yan Zhenren answered quickly.

“Also, there’s one more important thing.” Something came to Lin Jin’s mind while he was thinking, and it was his Psyche-Refining Needle.

One of the most crucial steps in treating Mr. Qi was to use the Psyche-Refining Needle to mend the damaged areas inside his body. So far, only Lin Jin’s Psyche-Refining Needle could handle the task adequately.

However, Psyche-Refining Needle was divided into grades.

The strongest needle Lin Jin had in his possession right now was the Thunderfire Needle which he hand-crafted. Even the Thunderfire Needle was insufficient when it came to treating someone like Mr. Qi.

Lin Jin needed something of a higher grade. A ‘Purple Thunder Needle’.

However, this needle was at the top of its class, as purple thunder was correspondingly the purest form of lightning. The immortals regarded purple as the greatest class, and such a practice was observed in human countries as well.

To craft this needle, they required divine purple lightning.

The average immortal couldn’t possibly craft one. Only profound immortals stood a chance.

For treating Mr. Qi’s injuries, although the Thunderfire Needle wasn’t good enough, it wasn’t completely useless. If Lin Jin had no other choice but to use it, the process would be more time-consuming. Still, since Lin Jin had the opportunity to obtain one ‘Purple Thunder Needle’, why did he have to hold back?

After exaggerating the situation a little, Lin Jin said, “Mr. Qi’s rank is unusually high, and because of his thunder Qirin bloodline, a Purple Thunder Needle is best-suited for mending his damaged foundation”

Lin Jin did not insist that it was necessary, only that it was best-suited for the role.

“Due to my limited cultivation, I can’t craft a Purple Thunder Needle. It’s quite a pity really.” Lin Jin sighed and shook his head, as if he couldn’t do the job without this item.

Now that Mr. Qi’s cultivation was at an all-time low, Miao Yan Zhenren had the highest cultivation among them. No matter how they saw it, he had to be the one to make the effort.

Sensing Mr. Qi’s gaze on him, Miao Yan Zhenren decisively said, “If it’s about crafting a magic treasure, you don’t have to worry about it. Allow me to help in the crafting process.”

That was the promise Lin Jin had been waiting for.

“It would be really great to have the help of a profound immortal. Though, I came in such a hurry that I didn’t bring enough materials with me…”

Before Lin Jin could finish his sentence, Miao Yan Zhenren responded, “Worry not. I’ll provide all the materials needed.”

That was settled then.

Lin Jin nodded. “I will be counting on you then, Zhenren.”

“Sure, sure!”

Lin Jin copied down the instructions for crafting the Purple Thunder Needle, courtesy of the museum. After checking it three times to ensure everything was correct, he handed it to Miao Yan Zhenren.

“We just have to craft it according to these instructions.” Lin Jin passed the papers to Miao Yan Zhenren, and the latter accepted it. After a glance, his brows furrowed and his chest tightened.

Good, heavens! This Purple Thunder Needle needed a considerable amount of materials to craft, and most of them were valuable treasures. Fortunately, their sect was large enough to be able to afford these materials; had it been a smaller sect, Lin Jin would have been asking for the impossible. Still, their sect was no longer as prosperous as before, so even if they had some valuables, it wasn’t much.

Oh, how painful this price was.

Still, no matter how hefty the sum was, it was worth it if they were able to treat Mr. Qi.

After reading the material list, Miao Yan Zhenren silently chanted a formula to steady his mind. After he felt more at peace, he went on to read the needle’s crafting method.

“Huh!” Miao Yan Zhenren’s eyes lit up at once.

This crafting method had no issues. More than that, it was so detailed to that even alternatives were provided for each step.

Capable of recognizing quality, Miao Yan Zhenren knew this method wasn’t created by any average person.

He was very impressed by what he read.

“Taoist Lin, this crafting method was taught by your master, wasn’t it?”
