Wiping the blood at the corner of his mouth, Lin Jin felt reassured after seeing the body profound immortal drenched in blood.
The enemy was just too powerful. Aside from his impressive agility, his body was harder than actual tempered steel. Lin Jin’s Dragonfire was useless against him. It only turned his body thoroughly red like scorching iron.
Even the Clear Wind Sword could barely scratch him. This enemy couldn’t be burned nor slain.
Lin Jin was apprehensive about taking another hit.
That one punch earlier was distressing enough for him. Had ninety percent of the attack’s force not been canceled and the blood ghost not been shielding him, he would have passed on to the netherworld by now.
Thus, Lin Jin decided to keep a safe distance and refrain from using any skills to probe his opponent. His subsequent attacks would all be lethal ones.
Now wasn’t the time to hesitate or he would be the one dead.
This was Lin Jin’s first time using the blood ghost and ghost worm combination on an profound immortal. Whether or not it would be effective, he couldn’t be sure, but at least it surely worked against half immortals. No half immortal could withstand this attack, and all would die an instant and tragic death.
Covered from head to toe in blood, the body profound immortal fell solemn and let out a roar. Flames burst forth from his body.
Clearly, Lin Jin wasn’t the only person skilled at using fire. This profound immortal was too.
However, despite the blood ghost’s dread of fire, it simply seeped under the body profound immortal’s skin, entering his organs. The ghost worms hidden inside the blood ghost had begun playing their role.
Argh!
He roared.
That instant, the body profound immortal felt countless worms gnawing at his body, a feeling so tragic that even he couldn’t endure.
“Vajra Body!”
His expression faltered and he shouted. Golden light glowed from his body. His initially steel-like body now seemed to turn into actual gold, showing similar luster and properties.
This profound immortal skill could turn the user’s entire physical body into gold for a short period of time, making it impenetrable to any attack.
The ghost worms’ attack clearly caused the body profound immortal great suffering and harm, so he had to resort to this skill in order to defend himself.
After turning into metal, even immortals couldn’t move, and such was the flaw of this Vajra Body.
Lin Jin could sense the ghost worms’ inability to advance their attacks and both them and the body profound immortal have now reached a strange balance.
The enemy couldn’t move, but Lin Jin could.
Lin Jin pointed forward and the Clear Wind Sword sliced down. Clang! They still couldn’t cut through.
“There must be a way.” Lin Jin fell dark. He must eliminate this body profound immortal today no matter the cost, simply because they had both now formed a grudge. If Lin Jin didn’t kill him today, the enemy would surely come for him later on.
What happened earlier bought Xiao Huo some time to recover. Deciding to go all out, Lin Jin invoked the Sky Furnace once more.
He had a feeling that the Vajra Body wouldn’t be perfect. It had to have some flaws.
Metal feared scorching flames. Perhaps it was rotten luck that Lin Jin didn’t manage to burn the enemy to death on the first attempt, so he decided to try again.
“Sky Furnace!”
Xiao Huo pounced over, turning into fire sparks that grew into a massive fire pillar, engulfing the golden body profound immortal inside him.
Burn!

Lin Jin didn’t mind losing the ghost worms now trapped inside the enemy body. If he could eliminate the body profound immortal with this, sacrificing a few ghost worms was worth It.
He had a feeling the Sky Furnace would work this time.
Rumble! Lin Jin had exhausted all his energy this time. If the body profound immortal still wouldn’t die, he had to plan an escape.
Suddenly, a thought came to mind and Lin Jin turned to the blood realm behind him.
“Shang’er, bring Goldy here!” Lin Jin shouted.
Shang’er responded at once, rushing out of the blood realm with Goldy in her arms.
The blood realm allowed those inside to leave safely but allowed no intruders in.
It was dangerous outside but Shang’er complied without hesitation. She clearly didn’t fear death.
During Lin Jin’s earlier diagnosis of Goldy, the rooster had been injured by an immortal so he was currently listless. Lin Jin had been too occupied earlier that he forgot about him until now.
While the Sky Furnace was lethal toward enemies, it was like a healing spring for Goldy.
The opportunity was lost earlier but Lin Jin wouldn’t repeat this same mistake. Moreover, he needed Goldy’s Golden Crow flames to buff the Sky Furnace’s power.
“Goldy, fly over there,” Lin Jin’s commanded. Shang’er immediately tossed Goldy up.
The smart bird knew what Lin Jin wanted him to do, so he enlarged mid-flight and his feathers turned into flames. Like a fire bird, Goldy dived headfirst into the Sky Furnace.
Just like pouring fuel into flames, the Sky Furnace’s firepower abruptly increased by a fold.
Loud rumbles thundered across the sky. Near the fire pillar, rocks have now melted while trees and grass have long since disintegrated into ashes.
Tragic screams rose everywhere around.
They came from the Grassy Continent soldiers who didn’t manage to escape in time. The Sky Furnace was burning too fiercely. Even if Lin Jin had been keeping it under control, the instant Goldy dived in and enhanced it with his Golden Crow flames, the Sky Furnace’s temperature had now reached a new peak.
The surroundings were now like the inside of a working furnace. Lin Jin could surely endure it, and so could those inside the blood realm, but the same could not be said about those on the outside.
Even at the corners of the black mist dome, they couldn’t escape the scorching heat. Some were simply burned to death.
Many such cases happened.
Some could only endure with the help of their pet beasts’ strength.
However, they couldn’t hold out much longer. Soon, about a hundred thousand of these soldiers would be burned alive.
When Lin Jin previously slaughtered several thousand Grassy Continent troops, he didn’t even bat an eyelid. But now, he wavered.
After learning that the Grassy Continent coalition was ordered by the Beast Deity Cult to invade Jade Dragon, the culprits here were the Beast Deity Cult and Patriarch Xue Pao.
Although these Grassy Continent soldiers deserved death as well, Lin Jin still felt it cruel to watch a hundred thousand people being burned alive.
They had destroyed many of Jade Dragon’s cities, so why not keep them as slaves to aid in rebuilding Jade Dragon?
That project would require tons of manpower.
With this in mind, Lin Jin patted the Four Ocean Gourd. Water streamed out like a sea gushing out. It formed a halo around the fire pillar to block off the heat.
It was still hot, but not to the extent of burning humans alive.
The hundred thousand soldiers immediately knelt down in gratitude after escaping their brush with death. Lin Jin returned his focus to the Sky Furnace.
