Of course, these were only Lin Jin’s assumptions and many of them were just results of his excessive thinking. He didn’t know the Beast Deity Cult leader, but he had interacted with Patriarch Xue Pao a few times now. The man was a shrewd and cunning old fox, so much so that one couldn’t be sure when he was telling the truth or lying.
Lin Jin had to be wary of Patriarch Xue Pao.
He looked up at the black cloud cage and a thought came to mind.
Perhaps these black clouds weren’t used to defeat Daluo Temple but were laid to defeat him instead.
Humans were like that. Once suspicious, their thoughts would inadvertently run in that certain direction, and Lin Jin was no exception.
At present, he learned that every human in Daluo Temple had been massacred by the Beast Deity Cult’s immortals. There was no one to save. By scattering corpses everywhere, this was the Beast Deity Cult’s tactic to rile Lin Jin up.
Sure enough, Lin Jin was furious. But he also knew he should keep his calm in such a situation and think carefully.
After much consideration, Lin Jin decided not to go in. Even if this was just a double-bluff strategy, so be it.
However, he wouldn’t just walk away either.
Lin Jin had other ideas instead of just charging inside, and that was to change his target and destroy these black clouds.
After asking the enemy immortal earlier, Lin Jin learned something.
These black clouds were actually one part of the Beast Deity Cult’s magic treasure, the ‘Hell’s Cage’. The magic treasure was so mysterious that even the enemy immortals didn’t know much about it. Only their cult leader and vice leader had the authority to wield and activate it.
The body profound immortal Lin Jin had previously killed was the Beast Deity Cult’s vice leader.
The black clouds from before were activated by said vice leader, so it was no wonder the clouds dissipated the instant he was burned to death. Lin Jin wondered if the magic treasure that the body profound immortal used to control the clouds had been burned along with him.
And at the thought of that possibility, he felt it a pity.
Had he known, he would have tried to take away that magic treasure first so he would gain another lethal weapon. If he could control these black clouds, he could borrow the strength of immortals.
Lin Jin had tons of friends in the extraterritorial land. Inferno Monk, Miao Yan Zhenren, and Xuan Yue Zhenren, either two of these profound immortals could easily wipe out the Beast Deity Cult entirely.
However, he knew the chances were slim. He knew better than anyone how powerful his Sky Furnace was so no magic tool could possibly survive in that heat. It must have disintegrated into ashes.
After a thought, Lin Jin made his decision.
He wouldn’t enter the pagoda forest personally for fear of the potential dangers. But before he left, he would give the enemy some trouble.
He beckoned Jin Chi and Shang’er to rise into the sky with him so they would get an aerial view of Daluo Temple.
Then, he patted the Four Ocean Gourd. The gourd shook before flying out, rising about a thousand feet before enlarging in size.
“Fill a sea!” Lin Jin ordered.
The gourd popped open and water gushed out. Just like how he created a sea back in Arid Continent, Lin Jin planned to flood Daluo Temple.
There were several merits to this.
If the enemy had laid a trap, waiting for Lin Jin to fall for it, this would destroy the enemy’s trap and give them trouble.

If it wasn’t as Lin Jin had imagined and the cult leader and Patriarch Xue Pao were in the midst of using the Immortal Expiation Sutra to remove the immortal corpse, this flooding sea would halt their process. It would still be advantageous for Lin Jin.
The surrounding black clouds now functioned like a barrel so the water level would only rise until the entire Daluo Temple was flooded.
This was Jin Chi’s second time witnessing Lin Jin creating a sea out of nothing. He watched on with widened eyes because during the first time, he only arrived when the sea was already created. Now, he got to witness everything from the start and see how incredible this magic gourd was.
Shang’er couldn’t even speak. Supernatural abilities like creating a sea or moving mountains belonged only to immortals, and not even all immortals could do that.
The water level rose quickly, flooding the entire pagoda forest. Shortly after, all they saw was water as Daluo Temple was completely submerged underneath.
“Brother Lin, with their capabilities, they could remain underwater for a long time. There might not be any merit for doing this,” Jin Chi said after a brief hesitation.
Indeed, even if immortals were drowned in the sea, that wouldn’t deal much damage at all. Many mortal experts were adept at spells that could help them breathe without oxygen, much less immortals.
Immortals could even survive at least one year underwater.
Lin Jin smiled and turned his palm over, revealing a silver needle emitting purple lightning.
“What if I add this in?”
Having said that, he tossed the Purple Thunder Needle into the vast sea.
As the enemy had killed all of the monks in Daluo Temple, those left alive down there were only foes.
That being the case, he need not hold back.
Flooding Daluo Temple was only the first step. Despite the grand display, Lin Jin knew this water wouldn’t deal much damage to the enemy.
But things would be different if he added the Purple Thunder Needle.
This was an item only profound immortals could craft. Lin Jin had been lucky enough to have Miao Yan Zhenren exhaust several days’ worth of energy to craft this one needle.
So pray tell, how could a magic treasure that required so much of a profound immortal’s cultivation to craft be underestimated?
Once Lin Jin activated it, the purple thunder could deal massive damage in this large sea.
Everyone knew that water could conduct electricity.
And purple thunder wasn’t normal electricity.
The Purple Thunder Needle fell into the water, and at almost the same time, the vast seawater began to glow with a purple light. Then, they heard crackling sounds coming from below.
Lin Jin laughed before asking Jin Chi to bring him and Shang’er out of the black cloud cage.
This attack might not be enough to kill a profound immortal, but it would surely make them suffer for a few days. As for half immortals, truth be told, this wasn’t enough to kill them either.
However, if he was lucky, this could paralyze or even deal grave damage to the half immortals. If all three of the Beast Deity Cult’s half immortals were down there, this would be a severe lesson for them.
That was why Lin Jin wanted to leave the black clouds immediately. After all, he didn’t want to see the immortals throwing a tantrum. If they want to fight, they would have to do it outside.
Lin Jin was a mortal so he wouldn’t incur the immortal devouring beast’s wrath. But the same couldn’t be said about the immortals of the Beast Deity Cult. The instant they reveal themselves, the immortal devouring beast would come for them.
When that happened, even profound immortals had to die.
