We only had one class today, which was PE, aka physical education, or my more agreeable term for it, aka a sweat fest.

I can't say that I was too thrilled about the entire concept, but hey, let's get it over with.

The male changing room was quite messy. Clothes were thrown everywhere instead of neatly folded.

Ichiyo approached me, already changed into his PE uniform, which was a white t-shirt and light blue knee-length pants.

"Hey guys, I heard that the PE class is going to be a mixed class with every year one."

I pause in the middle of removing my school shirt.

"That's interesting."

"That's interesting? I mean, Yuki, we're getting a chance to scope out all the hot girls from other classes. "

That was Kai Suzuki, a usually quiet kid in our class, so quiet that you rarely notice him unless he speaks, because he just has a way of blending into the walls. On certain occasions, he manages to shed his skin and chum it up with Ichiyo, and this is one of them.

I fully took off my school shirt and prepared to put on my PE t-shirt.

"You are correct, we do have some lookers in our year group. Do you guys know who the golden-haired girl is? I'm not sure which class she belongs to. "

I only saw her once, but for some reason I couldn't get her out of my head. Bleh, that sounds too cliché.

Ichiyo smirked and poked me with his elbow.

"Oh, you like Yuka Higashi from class 1-2?"

Yuka Higashi? So that's her name, I see.

"I wouldn't say that. I was just interested in who she was. "

After observing my physique, Ichiyo and Kai both said in unison.

"Dang, you're kind of buff."

To my surprise, Ichiyo put his arm around my neck.

"I didn't expect that. You give me that wimpy, pampered rich boy vibe. Who knew you were in shape?"

I nervously laughed, "Oh really?"

Well, I think I am slowly altering the boring image of myself that he has in his mind.

Ryoko walked into the changing room and said, "Class is about to start."

Ichiyo complained softly.

"Mann, who died and made him leader?"

As we were about to exit the room, Yujiro walked in. Ichiyo immediately left the changing room. I wonder if he is somewhat intimidated by Yujiro. I mean, I don't see him as a scary person, he is just someone who prefers extended alone time.

I then left the changing room and met up with the girls, who were surprisingly ready before us.

"Well hello here." Ichiyo said while rubbing his hands together.

Eiko had a disgusted look on her face as soon as she saw Ichiyo's actions.

"Ew, not like ever."

Ok, even I felt that one for him, but that's not how you approach females in the first place.

Minori had that same serious expression on her face.

I approached her in a cautious manner because I had no idea what was wrong with her this time or if that was just her natural face.

"Are you using the card well?"

"I have found a few uses for it, but I am still not thanking you."

"Well, it's not like I can retake it, right?"

"What do you want, Yuki? I find it surprising that we have these causal conversations in the first place when we have almost nothing in common to constitute a friendship besides little tit bits. "

"Some friendships are built upon two people not agreeing or having anything in common, so I don't see the validity of the point you're attempting to bring across on this fine Monday morning."

Minori glared at me, "That's strike three," and then proceeded to pinch me on my arm.

"Ouch."

I must admit that it actually hurt for some reason.

She kept a hold on my skin with her fingers.

"Are you going to stop sassing me?"

"Define sass because I am just matching the energy you put out towards me. Also, are you done pinching me now? My skin is starting to redden and I am pretty sure this counts as a physical assault. "

She released her fingers' grip on me and said, "I am done for now."

While rubbing the area of my arm that had an irritated sensation, I said, "That's a bit frightening, you don't say?"

She shifted her eyes to my arm again when I said that, causing me to jerk back a bit.

Say, Yuki, do you think that this mixed class might be weird?"

"Hmm, most likely, but who really knows?"

Minori replied, "Well, that's a long enough conversation with you. I don't want people to start thinking that we're dating or anything like that."

"Ok, well, I'll see you around."

How did she even come to that conclusion?

After leaving her, I went back into the boys' group.

Ichiyo, Kai, and Ryoko were having a conversation.

Ichiyo then asked a question that caught me off guard: "Dude, do you have something going on with Minori?"

"Huh?"

Me and Minori? Maybe when hell freezes over.

We barely formed a friendship, so a relationship is most definitely out of reach.

He repeated the question again.

"Do you have something going on with Minori?"

I looked at him with a calm expression.

"Where did you get that idea from?"

"Well, she only speaks to you, and anytime we get close to her, she shuts herself away. I am surprised she even paid for our drinks on Friday."

After recovering from that question, I smiled and said, "Just give her time, and I am sure that she'll come around."

Was I just giving fake reassurance, or would she actually warm up to the others? Oh well, can't take it back now, it's already in the air.

Ichiyo smiled when he heard those words.

"So you don't mind if I go after her, right?"

I was a bit taken aback by that unexpected statement of his. More importantly, when did he start developing feelings for her?

Wait, was I being dense? I just remembered the question he asked me previously and his pulling out the chair for Minori in the café. It is surprising how I blatantly ignored the signs right in front of my face

However, I don't think Minori is into exploring any type of romance. Maybe he would have a chance if he could transform himself into a book or something.

I flashed a nervous smile and replied, "Um, yeah, sure, you go right ahead, buddy."

Ichiyo smacked me on the shoulder.

"Thanks bro."

Hopefully, I will still have my place in heaven after that lie.
