A special exercise? You have to be kidding me. I couldn't believe my ears.
I get that it's special and all, but at least give us a heads up so we can mentally prepare ourselves.
I looked at Minori, who seemed a bit nervous, as if she hadn't prepared herself for the possibility of it being a class clash.
The entire first-year population started to murmur amongst each other.
The male teacher then laughed.
"I was only kidding about PE class, but allow me to tell you what the special exercise is." We're all here as an ice breaker to allow students from different classrooms to fully interact with each other, so I'll go first. My name is Makino Kejii and I am the homeroom instructor for class 1-2."
A joke? That's an odd joke. I don't see myself laughing, and I appreciate a good joke.
I could see class 1-4 looking relieved as he said that. Well, it looks like we'll live to see another day.
Class 1-1 seemed disappointed. I get it. They were hungry for blood, and they basically got blue-balled.
Mr. Makino then returned to his class group, which was class 1-2.
Everybody was reluctant to mingle, but after some time, they finally did
The conversations they seemed to engage in looked both forced and relaxed at the same time.
Yuudai Hori, the student from class 1-3, approached me and randomly asked this one question.
"Are you an ass or a titty man?"
I see that he asked the age-old question that scores of countless men have had. The answer can determine what type of person you truly are, or so they say.
After clearing my throat and ensuring that no females were present to hear my eagerly anticipated response,
"I stand on the grounds of neutrality most of the time, but I prefer a well-shaped one over a large one."
Yuudai paused, then shook my hand.
"I see we're on the same wave length, Yuki."
I flashed a nervous smile.
"Is that so?"
"The environment of the school is both hostile and friendly. With the most recent class clash behind us and the results being withheld. How did you think you guys did?"
Hmm, an odd topic to bring up to somebody you just met.
I deeply exhaled.
"Yeah, it's quite a lot to take in."
"You guys think you can pull it together?"
Pull what together? Is he attempting to probe for something? What could it be? What is the current standing of unity in class 1-4?
I replied, "Who knows?"
Then I left the student, who was bewildered at my answer.
Yuudia Hori just walked up and boldly asked me to divulge class information. He must have been banking on me having loose lips.
Which makes me wonder if the rest of class 1-3 are doing the same thing with various classes and if my classmates were stupid enough to tell them anything. Just who is the leader of class 1-3? I know for a fact that it isn't him. Maybe it is and he's just a hands-on type of person.
I began walking over to Miss Aiko, who was still having a conversation with her fellow teachers.
I noticed Minori was surrounded by three male students from various classes
She seemed annoyed. At least, more than usual.
I decided to make a detour and check in with her.
I am slowly approaching her now.
"You appear to be making friends now. That's a sight to behold."
Minori, with the same old expression on her face, asked, "Is this what it looks like in your eyes?"
One of the male students interjected, "Hey, we're trying to have a conversation here."
A conversation? It looks more like you're trying to talk to a brick wall.
Minori harshly glared at the student.
"I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to force a conversation with me, as you can see it's heading in a non-existent direction."
The three students just turned around and walked away in defeat or fright. I'll be honest here and say it was probably a mixture of both.
"Well, that's a bit scary for a pretty girl such as yourself."
Minori turned her glare towards me now.

"I was being nice when I said that."
"If that is your nice, I would love to see your mean."
Minori tilted her head slightly to the left.
"Don't test me."
Is she a tsundere or something?
"That sounds like a physical threat instead of a verbal one."
She took her name tag off of her T-shirt and then placed it in her pocket.
"It all depends on your next statement."
Yup, she's definitely a tsundere. Now that my recent curiosity has been satisfied, I can now die in peace.
Ichiyo saw that Minori and I were talking to each other again.
He pulled me to the side.
"I knew that you guys were probably dating."
I put my hand on his shoulder and said, "Everything isn't what it appears to be. We're just friends and friends talk. Don't let jealousy cloud your sound judgement. "
Minori is like that one friend who is the polar opposite, yet we still happen to make it work.
Ichiyo shook his head.
"Whatever you say, but you guys look rather too close."
I wiped my hands on my pants now due to the sweat from the sun's heat. I decided to change the topic because it was heading in the wrong direction based on his speculation.
"Did you make any new friends?"
Ichiyo wiped the sweat off of his forehead.
"Yeah, I met some cool people from classes 1-3 and 1-2."
"Anything noticeable about them and did you tell them anything about our class?"
Ichiyo had a puzzled expression, "Noticeable? and why would I speak about our class to the enemy? "
I observed the crowd of students a bit more, then said, "Never mind, it was just a random question."
Ichiyo isn't the sharpest tool in the class, but he at least has the brain power to identify who his enemies are, which is good enough for me right now, but I do have this nagging feeling that he said something unintentionally important about us to another class.
I continued, "Is there any reason why class 1-1 is avoiding interactions with any other class?"
"Oh, their class leader forbids it."
"Who is their leader?"
Ichiyo shrugged and said, "I heard that it was Yusuf Machi, and other people are telling me it's Asai Amaya."
Whoever the leader is must be aware of class 1-3's attempts to gather information on other classes and just outright ban any conversations. That's one way to do it.
After that statement, Ichiyo left me in order to mingle some more with other students.
I was standing alone when Asuka approached me.
I instantly asked, "Are you here to snoop around for information as well?"
She laughed a bit and replied, "I know you're far too sharp to fall for that after all."
I observed her class a bit more and asked, "Why does your class look so divided?"
Asuka looked in the same direction as me and replied, "I'll give you a piece of information if you give me a piece as well."
"Are you proposing a trade?"
She placed her hands behind her back and smiled, "Exactly, so you may have some information regarding your class that I want to know, and I'll answer your question."
I sighed, "What do you want to know?"
"Nice of you to be so easy to work with."
I shifted my eyes to another class and replied, "You know I can also lie, right?"
"Same here, but at the end of the day, it's a matter of whose lie is more believable, right?" Asuka side-eyed me.
That's correct. It seems that I may have to proceed with caution when it comes to Asuka Itou. She seems a bit too dangerous.
I gave a half smile and said, "Alright, shoot."
Asuka turned to me and prepared to ask me a burning question.
