Zary felt his heat warming her up from behind, his strong solid body supporting her… his pleasant masculine scent filled her nostrils. And she breathed in a few more lungfuls of it as she remained in his embrace.
He did not say anything even after a few moments. She thought that he was going to whisper to her pleadingly not to send him back to the company, but surprisingly he did not. He just hugged her silently like that and this was… this was far worse for her than him saying anything. Oh god…
His grip on her waist tightened a little and Zary felt her heart squeeze. Damn it. What was going on with her? When did she… when did she develop such a soft spot for him?
The things he had done for her in the short while he was in her home – and also outside – suddenly flashed across her mind like slide show. In such a short time… Zary realized how he had already done so much for her. And she had truly enjoyed every single one of them. In fact, now that she thought about it, there were already quite a lot that had happened. And she had enjoyed herself, laughed and even got excited. Not to mention that experience in that public bathroom…
“Ma’am? Hello? Are you still there? We will be sending some people over to your home now to retrieve the product –” the officer continued to inform Zary.
“Actually, I’m not in my home that you delivered the product to right now…” Zary blurted out, cutting her off. “And yes, Sam is… my robot is with me right now. We’ve just gone travelling for a short vacation, so no one is at my billing address house right now.”
She felt Sam’s grip on her loosen up a bit.
“Oh… is that so?” Zary’s heart skipped a bit at the subtle doubtful tone in the woman’s voice. “May I know where exactly you are right now, ma’am?”
Zary fumbled and ended the call with some randomly thrown out excuse before quickly setting her phone into flight mode.
Then she turned around to Sam and grabbed at both his hands.
“We need to leave, now!” she told him urgently as she dragged him out of her house with much haste. She needed to make those words she had just said true! So even though it had started out as a lie, it would end up being the truth anyway.
Sam’s eyes glimmered as he looked at her and then he quickened his pace after her and the two of them ran together along the corridor as if they were suddenly in an action movie.
They even experienced that iconic elevator scene when Sam barely snuck his hand between the elevator’s door right before it closed to get it from going past their floor.
“We’re going to ride my bike, Sam.” Zary informed him as they stepped out the elevator.
“Let me be the one to drive, master.” Sam told her.
Zary was shocked. “You know how to drive?!”
He smiled at her, his golden eyes seemed to be burning. “I’m pretty good at it.”
When they reached where Zary’s bike was parked, Sam faced her while she panted, busy catching her breath from their running spree.
Zary bit her lower lip before placing her hand in his. Screw being cautious! She was a dying person! These thrills this man had brought in the very last days of her life… she was not going to let them slip away all because she was afraid of getting into an accident.
“Alright, show me what you’ve got.” Her smile was challenging. “But if you’re too slow, I’ll take over. Deal?”
A gleam of amusement flashed in his eyes before he moved and put the helmet on Zary’s head.
It was such a convenience that Zary always have two helmets because she sometimes had to drop her secretary or Karille along the way.
A while later, their big badass black bike sped out of the building. However, their clothes somehow ruined the coolness as the two of them were actually still in their pyjamas. Zary could not help but chuckle at the sight they must be making for others who are watching them.
So they stopped by a store once they were far enough from their building and bought new outfits for them both.
“Where are we heading to?” Sam asked as he climbed off the bike again.
Zary tilted her head.
“Anywhere?” she wondered. And he nodded at her with understanding, a smile spreading across his face.
Zary wondered why he had acted as though he understood what she actually wanted. But she did not bother to say anything and just climbed up behind him on the bike, wrapping her arms around his waist and enjoyed how wonderful it felt to be hugging a strong and toned abdomen such as Sam’s.
It did not take long before they were zipping along on the highway. Zary smiled. He really knows where he was headed for.
He began to speed up and Zary could not stop smiling even wider, loving how reckless he was right now.
He sped up as if they were in a car chase and instead of fear, it gave her so much thrill that her adrenaline was spiking. She could not explain the feeling, but as she sat there straddling the bike, tightening her grip on his waist while watching the streetlights whizz past them one after another… somehow, the feeling was completely different compared to when she was biking all by herself.
Before she realized it, she had tightened her grip on him again, leaning her head on his broad shoulders. Sam slowed down a little as they passed by a beautiful bridge. Zary felt his pace and she relaxed. She eased back and Sam went even slower.
Zary let go of Sam’s waist, but Sam did not stop her. Then she spread her hands out allowing herself to just feel the wind… and everything. And it was just… amazing…
An immeasurable amount of time later, they stopped by a certain building in the middle of nowhere.. It was a small building with a bright red “HOTEL” signage.
