This memory would frequently visit her as a dream in her past life. Never in her whole world would she think that she would meet a replica of her grandmother here. The cause of her suffering and someone she never wanted to meet again. But as fate hated people, the replica was Moniqua's mother…
Her past mother did not have the beauty of Moniqua nor red exotic hair! There was nothing in common, not to mention the demeanor in how they both represent themselves! So why on earth, was her deceased grandmother here!
Moniqua still at least treated 'Eugeneia' well, but with a mother like that… who knows what might happen in the future. It is better off for her to put her guards up against this new family of hers until she understands this world better.
"Haa…" 'Such a complicated new life'
-
On the day her mother came, Moniqua felt complicated. Her instincts told her, that day was not going to go as planned. And so when her daughters met her mother, she finally knew why she felt off that day. Eugeneia's reaction to seeing her mother was a mother's worst nightmare. Why? Why did she react the way she did? Was it because it wasn't someone she knew?
'Why?'
She couldn't help but frown upon thinking about that day. Her eldest daughter never once cried, which already wasn't normal, but when she cried, why did it sound like she was in so much pain? As if she saw something so traumatic? Was she really afraid of strangers? Or was it… her mother. But how could that be! It was the first time her mother had come back from the South continent in years!
'Haa…'
She signed. It was pointless to think about things she would never have the answer to. As long as she raised Eugeneia up well with a lot of care and love, in hopes to ease her and her fears.
"Eugeneia my precious daughter,I hope you would grow up healthy with no darkness in your heart."
That was her honest wish for her daughter. Signing while gently stroking Eugeneia's back, she quickly went back to work.
"....."
'What was this lady thinking about?'
Eugeneia was observing Moniqua while laying down on her stomach. At this angle, she was able to see all of Moniqua's facial expressions.
'Now that I think about it… Her mother was wearing a traditional Chinese Hanfu. Very different from what everyone from this estate wears."
"....ai…"
A sudden sound muffled 2 meters away from the two. Moniqua's hands momentarily ceased writing and so did Eungene's wandering thoughts. They both turned their heads to look over at the nearby crib, expecting the worst-case scenario, but it was only Euria shifting to a more comfortable position.
'Thank goodness'
Both Moniqua and Eugene breathe out in deep relief…
Moniqua made sure to keep her voice as soft as possible but enough for the people outside to hear.
The slowly creaked open and Louis came in holding Aernest. With Ramon trailing behind Louis quietly closing the door behind him.
"Father asked me to look after the children and asked if Mother could go up to his study"
Louis and Ramon were flushed red as they had come here right after Sword training with Levis. Before coming to Moniqua's study, they had changed and picked up the sleeping Aernest.
Louis gently walked to where Euria was sleeping and put Aernest next to Euria before heading over to where his mother and Eugeneia was at.
"Alright, let me go see your father. I'll be back in a few."
Before she left she put Eugeneia in Louis' arms. Louis was mature for his own age so she had full confidence in leaving Louis with all the kids.
"Brother, Euria is sleeping in an adorable way!"
Ramon whispered looking at Euria's weird sleep. Without having to explain how Euria slept, Eugene had already figured out. When Euria sleeps, she has big saliva bubbles coming out of her lips, moving in rhythm to her breathing.
"Don't make it a habit and spoil her too much Ramon"
Louis holding Eugeneia warned before going to a small coffee table by Moniqua's bookcase area to sit. It was the first time Louis ever held Eugene, and after taking a seat, did he notice that Eugeneia was awake and staring at him.
When his grandmother visited the estate, he was curious as to why Eugeneia had that sort of reaction. So he went on to read books about newborns but found nothing in detail. The book did describe newborns as moody. Which he perceives as, newborns are unexpected creatures you will never understand their behaviors.
'He really is a duplicate of his father'
'Long lashes, plumped lips, high nose bridge… in other words worldly looking?'
It was Eugene's first time being up close to Louis, and so she took her time and carefully observed him.
'What a tiny creature..'
Eugeneia's observing him did not go unnoticed by him, so he in turn took his time to observe his younger sister who was famous throughout the country. Curiously, he poked Eugeneia's tiny hands with his index finger.
"...."
Eugene did not know what her uncaring 'brother' was doing poking her palms, but she saw it as a great moment to start practicing the art of body movements, and therefore gripped his index finger that was poking her.
Grip
Ungrip
It seems like her body was fine! So the cause of her not being able to make body movements all along was because Euria was crushing her body every day! She silently cursed Euria in her mind and didn't realize the person she was using as practice material turning stiff.. His pupils dilated for less than a second before turning back to normal.
