According to Euria, these children were still strong and are getting stronger every day. These were children who had been training since they were young and were carefully selected by Kal. For some time, Euria's bodyguard taught these children the Veria household swordsmanship as well as martial arts to make them even stronger. And combined with what they already knew and the strong physical abilities they had, they were becoming incredibly strong.
Though they were still considered young teens, they were nevertheless mature for their own age. They have been through a lot and will not shy away from the responsibilities they have as Euria's mini helpers.
Planning what to do, and thinking of how to get reinforcements was another reason why Eugene could not sleep well last night. Because just when she was about to sleep, she would remember another problem and would contemplate on that. And because of this, she read Euria's letter and found out where they could get reinforcements. And with these reinforcements, she was confident that their chance of retrieving Euria would increase.
"But… how will I fight them alone?" Asked Ron hesitantly, snapping Eugene out of her thoughts.
Eugene answered immediately, "We inform the Great Nobles about their escape plan to Lelips and have them send in reinforcements."
"..." Ron hesitated for a minute before continuing, "I know I told you to tell your father Euria's location but, you're really going to tell him? Do you not mind getting caught?"
Eugene shook her head, "Getting caught isn't important. The most important thing is to get Euria as quickly as possible which was why I left in the first place. The closer we are to the organization, the faster we can get her back."
When Ron saw how serious Eugene was, he shut his mouth immediately. Ron thought very deeply over Eugene's plan and agreed,
"Alright. Let's do this then." Though the only problem with this plan was that he would have to go to Lelips by himself. He should be fine though… right?
Eugene noticed his hesitant face for a second and said, "We can hire the mercenaries to protect you and bring you to your destination."
Ron contemplated Eugene's words. Though he was worried about the security leaks, he nodded, "Alright." He couldn't go to Lelips alone anyway.
At the same time
One person was staring at her own reflection on the cup of tea on the table. There was a golden hue in the rich tea swirling around which blended with her reflection when she stirred her cup of tea. She only stopped when she saw the daisy flower in her tea drowning.
The window beside the person was opened slightly, this allowed petals of flowers to ride with the gentle breeze of wind and head inside her room. It was a beautiful sight and a relaxing atmosphere to be in. Just that no one in the room enjoyed the atmosphere and was only sitting here for the sake of it.
"You look very relaxed, Miss." a charming voice belonging to a male spoke out from opposite the female.
Euria glanced up at the man and didn't say anything. She brought her cold cup of tea to her lips and took small sips.
"Miss loves tea just like Master said." When the word 'Master' came out of his lips, Euria stopped sipping her tea and set her cup down.
Her lips curved up as she stared at Darius, "Why are you under elder again?" Her tone sounded very sarcastic, making Darius' eyes turn dark despite his face remaining untouched.
Before he could respond, Euria exclaimed with widened eyes, "Oh! It's because of your sister!"
The moment his sister was mentioned, Darius reflectively threw his dagger at her face only for it to disintegrate and crumble as if it was the most useless thing in the world.
Euria's lips curved into a sneer as she stared at Darius's dark face. After a few seconds of silence, she spoke seriously, "If you want to save her, don't give your sister what was given to you."
Darius's eyes twitched slightly and he frowned, "...."
"That thing will save your sister for 2 years at most before her life gets completely sucked up." Euria began to sip on her tea again as she stared at Darius's ever-changing face.
"If you want to make things up so that I let you go, it's best you st-"
"I'm not leaving."
Before Darius could finish his sentence, Euria intervened.
Darius shut his mouth and his face suddenly hardened in realization. His eyes narrowed down at her and looked at her suspiciously.
"Everyone will die. Your sister will too." She said softly as she stirred her tea. She glanced out the window and continued, "That's why I have to go…" She sighed lazily.
Darius was wary, "Why are you telling me this?" There was no reason the person in front of him should be telling him this.
"Because I know you want to save your sister." She said as plainly as possible. This sister Euria was talking about was someone who would fall victim to the leader of Exitium and get her life sucked stolen away. However, before her life gets sucked out, she will be cured and this was the basis of Darius's and the leader's trust. Darius's sister will then live for another two years before suddenly passing away. And who did the leader of Exitium blame it on? The leader would blame it on Eugene who has the same power as the leader. And because of this, Eugene would always be targeted and get severely hurt by Darius.
"... How do I believe you?" his eyebrows were furrowed as he asked.
"Because I'm a good person," Euria stated simply.
"... Excuse me?" Darius could not believe his ears. Was the person sitting in front of him truly saying that she was a good person when she literally mascaraed all of the children that came after they arrived in Herrow? Even before finding out that one of his comrades went behind his back and ordered another attack, Euria had already moved to kill before the truth came out. Not to mention, she went on another killing spree when the Duchess' injury was mentioned.
Euria shrugged, "Even though I am a bad person, as long as I am on the side of my family, I will automatically become a good person."
Darius was quiet when he heard Euria's words. He felt a little bit speechless and a little bit shocked at Euria's shamelessness. But even though he felt this way, there was something inside him that made him think that she was not lying to him. Maybe it was because there was confidence in her eyes when she mentioned her family? Nevertheless, it made his determination waver slightly.
The room was silent for a while when he asked, "... And how will you save my sister?"
His sister has a chronic illness that made her incredibly sick. Her sickness did not allow her to experience a life without pain nor made she able to experience the world. And according to the physicians he brought from all over the world, she didn't have many years left to live and told them to give up on finding a cure. This happened around 3 years ago when he didn't join the organization yet. It was only a few months later when he joined the organization because they invited him to join. He wasn't a good man, which is why he didn't care what organization he joined as long as they were able to cure his sister.
Naturally, he has doubts about this organization. And even though he was already given a red liquid that would supposedly cure his sister, he was hesitant to use it. Don't even mention Euria's warning as he was now more skeptical than ever.
"Life needs to be exchanged with life. If you want to heal your sister, you must give up a portion of your life. That is the condition of the universe and the law of the world for using such powers."
Darius was speechless, "Give up… life?" He needs to give up his life to save his sister? But what if his sister isn't cured?
Euria pursed her lips, "A portion of your life." He skipped a very important part there.
"And in what way is this method not as dangerous as Master's method?" Darius furrowed his eyebrows and he asked.
"The method is the same, just the intention is different."
Darius stared at her very seriously. What she said just now, oddly resonated with him.
"A good person will always have good intentions. However, a bad person will always have bad intentions. Do you understand what I'm saying?"
"...." Euria's words hit him deep in his core.
He hesitated for a moment and asked, "And what was elder's intention when elder made me ingest the red potion?" When he met elder for the first time, he was made to swear loyalty and was also made to swallow a red potion.. He didn't think much of the red potion until he was given something similar for his sister's cure.
