Chapter 250: Eugene’s Dull Eyes

Episode 243- Eugene's dull eyes

Eugene watched speechlessly as Levis let go of her arms. Everybody watched as Elsm tried to get closer to Euria, only to be pushed back as if Euria was locked in an invisible confinement. Elsm's eyes had a hint of frustration and a look of horror in them, which left Eugene perplexed about what Euria was about to do. 

She had a feeling, a massive feeling that if Euria opened her eyes, something big was going to happen to Elsm, no-. To Elsm and Euria. Eugene clenched her fists tight. There was a big feeling, a huge feeling in her that was telling her to stop Euria no matter the cost. But there was also a huge part in her that was telling her that it was impossible to stop Euria because it was too late. 

Duke Rodriguez had the same feeling and ordered everyone to back off. And not five minutes later, Euria's pulsating rainbow light got bigger and bigger. It slowly moved from Euria to Elsm who was trying to escape but couldn't as Euria's light surrounded her from all sides. 

Eugene bit her lips, and brought her palm out, "Lock her feet." Her blood quickly shot out and headed straight towards Elsm whose focus was only on Euria. 

It was too late when Elsm noticed that she wasn't able to move. She glanced towards her feet and her eyes shot immediately to Eugene with a face showing intense anger, "EUGENENIA!!" 

Euria's light engulfed Elsm completely with the help of Eugene, and what happened after that sent goosebumps and spine chilling sensation to everyone in the vicinity. The screams of Elsm was high pitched, a scream no one wanted to hear a second time as it was a scream of absolute agony, as if her entire insides were being pulled out from within her body. It was horrible to hear and brought intense fear out of everybody. 

Levis had moved in front of Eugene ages ago, hence Eugene had no choice but to peek at Euria from behind Levis. 

Euria's light lasted a long time, and when Elsm's scream ceased, the lights on both Euria and Elsm disappeared little by little. Euria descended slowly to the ground, walked passed Elsm who had fallen and appeared to be unconscious. Her walk however was slow, and she swayed from side to side as if she was struggling to stay awake, as if she wanted to say something no matter what before she fell unconscious. She walked staggerly towards Levis and Eugene, with her eyes locked on Eugene.

Euria lifted one of her arms towards Eugene who immediately rushed to Euria. 

"Eugeneia!" Levis called her back but she didn't care. She kept running towards Euria when all of a sudden her heart skipped a bit. On the corner of her eyes, she saw Elsm's finger twitching. A straight line of light appeared behind Elsm and gave her a sense of deja vu at the moment. The light did not belong to Euria and everybody who saw that straight line of light instinctively felt that. 

Euria's focus was only on Eugene and she seemed as if she did not realize what was happening behind her at all. She didn't even notice Eugene's panicked expression and her panicked runs, as if she wanted to grab her away from something.

Eugene's scream of terror, calling Euria's name, was the only thing that brought Euria to a halt. But it was too late. 

Eugene was so shocked she stopped running instinctively. All of her body mechanisms stopped working to the point that couldn't even breathe. 

"EURIA!!" Levis's shouted out loud, his shout woke everybody who froze up. 

Eugene took a step forward and began running, "EURIA!!!" Her eyes locked on Elsm's hand that had pierced through to Euria's stomach from behind. 

Elsm's face was not one without exhaustion. She was breathing heavily and her eyes met with Eugene. The moment they met eyes, all forms of exhaustion disappeared from Elsm's face as her lips began to curve into a spine-chilling smile. Her smiling lips were dark because they were covered in black gun powder. It could be the shadow, but Elsm's smile seemed to curve all the way to her eyes as she held Euria.

-Cough-

Blood sprew out from Euria's mouth as she stared at Eugene, Levis, and Duke Rodriguez heading her way in shock. Just before Eugene could reach Euria, a wave of blood headed her way to attack her, only to be hit by Euria's invisible shield. The impact of the two powers clashing caused Eugene to fly back again and land in Levis's arms. 

Eugene's heartbeat was beating fast because of this deja vu-like scene. Ever since the straight white light had appeared from behind Elsm, everything that happened after went exactly the way it did in her dream with only one thing missing, Aernest. It was a deja vu-like scene, however, she still felt that something was wrong and off with the situation as a whole.

Eugene shook her head hard. Her shoulders were held back by Levis's as she struggled to leave his clutches, "LET GO!" She screamed and tried to wiggle out of his grasp only to be held tighter. Her screams were ear piercing, a scream no one has heard of from Eugene before. 

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! LET GO!" She punched, kicked, did everything she could to let Levis let go of her, but it was impossible. 

"Euria. Euria!" There was terror and horror in Eugene's voice as she tried to reach over to grab Euria, but that was also impossible. 

Elsm pulled her hands off of Euria stomach, and only then did Eugene saw Elsm face. It wasn't that she was smiling. Her face was ugly and scrunched up, appearing to be in great sadness.

The moment Eugene saw this, she felt something in her brain snap. It would've been better if Elsm had been smiling. It would've been better if Elsm had been laughing. But she wasn't. And she appeared to be in great sadness?

"I will kill you." Eugene stared straight at Elsm. There was no emotion behind her voice, and no emotions on her face, as if she was just an empty shell. 

"You really have change-"

Elsm wasn't able to finish her next sentence and what happened next shocked both her and Levis. 

Eugene enhanced herself with speed and arrived by Elsm's side within a second. She grabbed Euria who had been held by Elsm and threw her to Levis. And before anyone could react, Elsm had gone far away, flying like a piece of rag. 

-CRASH-

No one could see what Eugene did and only knew that the enemy wasn't in front of Eugene anymore. What they could hear and see though, was trees toppling over as if someone was cutting down trees. 

Eugene turned behind and watched Euria for a moment. She grabbed her dagger from inside her jacket and dug the dagger deep into her hand, allowing a pool of blood to leave her palms to Levis's horror. 

"EUGENE!" It was his first time seeing Eugene using her Occul, in fact, he didn't know what Eugene was doing and could only stare at her in horror. But instead of a face full of pain, he only met Eugene's dull eyes. This caused his heart to drop to the ground as her eyes reminded him of when Eugene was firstborn, and the eyes of the child whom he encountered 7 years ago. Beyond her rage, her eyes showed no expression and she looked as if she wasn't looking at the world. 

Elsm rushed towards Eugene with sheer anger on her face. Her eyes caught Eugene's bloody palm and her eyes trembled for a second before she ceased running, "... You." Her voice trembled in speechlessness. 

"Kill Exitium." Immediately after Eugene said that word, something gushed out of her. Her vision was entirely red, her eardrums were unable to hear anything any longer, and she could taste iron in her mouth. 

Elsm's eyes immediately trembled and she erected a shield. However, inside her heart, she knew that the shield was not enough due to what Euria did to her earlier on. 

"EUGENEIA!!!" Levis left Euria in Duke Rodriguez's arms as he rushed to Eugene but it was too late. He felt as if his heart had been gouged out and cut into small pieces by what he saw. As he grabbed Eugene and hugged her to himself, he felt nothing but horror and pain.

Her body was covered in massive amounts of blood. No, massive amounts of blood flowed out of Eugene's cut palm, her eyes, her ears, her mouth, and all her wounds. Her blood did not fall to the ground but flowed to the sky as if it was some kind of sacrifice. Some flew straight towards the light, some flew elsewhere, and a huge amount flew straight at Elsm. 

"EUGENEIA STOP IT! STOP IT THIS INSTANT!" Levis shook Eugene to snap her out of her thoughts, however, no matter what he did, blood still continued to flow out of Eugene as if she was donating blood.
