Episode 258- Pointing finger at Eugene at the entrance to the academy

"Shh. Don't talk. You don't want to anger the nobles." 

From the tone that was used to respond to the girl who had asked, Eugene suspected that they weren't friends and were strangers. 

Eugene moved her gaze away to observe the whole area. The area was crowded with people in line.  A crowd of young students amounted to about 100 students. 

'And these are only first years.' Eugene sighed. 

"But-" The girl protested, her voice hinted that she was incredibly confused and curious over why she couldn't talk when the other girl pushed her away. 

"Stay away from me! I don't want to get in trouble!" 

"Ah!"

The girl who was pushed to the side had her luggage on the floor hence she tripped over it and was just about to fall when Eugene reflectively grabbed her and pulled her to her embrace to negate the impact.

"Ah?" The girl turned to Eugene, whose face was covered with a gigantic hat. The girl lowered herself to look at Eugene's face and smiled, "Thank you very much!"

"No problem," Eugene responded before letting go of her. That's when she realized that she had left a red mark on the girls' wrists.

'... Am I that strong?' She couldn't help but wonder. Eugene reached for the girl's wrist again who was staring at Eugene with big eyes. She lightly touched her wrists and asked her, 

"My apologies for hurting you, does it hurt?" She asked her. 

"Oh?" The girl stared at her red wrists, "No! No! It doesn't hurt!" 

Eugene knew that the girl was lying so she added some strength, however, the girl didn't flinch and only blinked innocently. 

Eugene sighed before she crouched down and opened her luggage. She took out a cooling balm, closed her luggage, and stood up. Everyone was staring at them at this point because of the loud noises they were making. Not to mention, Eugene had opened her luggage in the middle of the crowd, which incited their curiosity. 

The people in front turned to them and looked at them with a curious gaze, while the people behind Eugene were staring at Eugene and the girl with a pale and horrifying look. It was truly horrifying to them alright? 

One girl shoved a girl into Eugene's arm. While the girl who was shoved dared speak to speak with the blessed twin. Not to mention, the blessed twin didn't do anything and helped the girl. She even kneeled down in front of the girl. Because of this 5-minute ordeal, everyone behind Eugene felt as if they'd lived a hundred lives due to the various emotions they were going through.

Eugene opened the lid of the cooling balm, got a big amount of the balm before rubbing it on the girl's wrists. The girl didn't say anything and only watched as Eugene applied the balm on her. After Eugene finished rubbing the balm in, she closed the lid of the balm and passed it to the girl. 

"Here, take this." Eugene had no idea that when he handed the girl the balm, everyone whose attention turned to the balm would gasp in surprise and in horror.

"Thank… Thank you. You are very kind." The girl thanked Eugene and asked, "What is your name? My name is Camille, Cami for short." She smiled as she introduced herself.

Eugene opened her mouth and was about to respond when the girl who pushed Camille grabbed Camille and forcefully turned Camille around. 

"You! Do you know what this is?!?" She practically screamed, silencing the whole area at once. 

"This… This bottle. This design! This is one of the most expensive healing balms that exists in Xenperia! How dare you use such a big amount?! Not to mention, just freely handing it over to her!!" 

Eugene closed her mouth and didn't say anything. 

Camille frowned and pushed the girl's hands-off, "You are being very rude right now." She said as she backed off from the girl and stepped back to Eugene's side. 

The girl paused for a second before fake laughing, "Oh I know. It must. It must definitely be fake! How dare you bring a copycat item on your first day of school! Are you not embarrassed?! I am embarrassed for you!" The girl pointed her finger at Eugene. 

Unbeknownst to her, only she was thinking that way. No one thought that Eugene had brought a copycat item to brag about it in front of people. 

The commoners were embarrassed that the girl was openly shouting and pointing fingers. It was because they didn't want the nobles to think negatively of them which was why they didn't dare speak in the first place. As for what the nobles were thinking, though they didn't know who Eugene was, they knew from her posture that she was a very high-ranking aristocrat and didn't think that Eugene's balms were fake. As for the people behind… there were no words that needed to be said. They had already died a thousand deaths when the girl pointed her fingers at Eugene. 

"Hey!" Camile furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at the girl with dissatisfaction on her face. 

"Why? Why are you so silent? Because what I'm saying-" The girl stepped up and pulled Eugene's hat off, "Is right?!"

Eugene's hat was thrown away, and the girl was able to see who Eugene was clearly. Eugene was tall hence she glanced down. Her grey eyes and grey hair are visible to the world at the moment. 

At this moment, both nobles and commoners, everyone sucked their breaths in. Everyone's heart dropped to the pits of their stomach and they didn't dare breathe. The reason was that people with grey hair only belonged to the Veria family. Not to mention, the color of Eugene's eyes. They knew who she was immediately. 

The Veria family has a law, and that any offspring with grey hair and grey eyes will automatically become the heir. However, that wasn't the case 10 years ago. And that was because the Veria family already had an heir who was born with grey hair and grey eyes. Hence, when Eugeneia, Veria was born with grey hair and grey eyes, she shocked the world. So even though it was the first time the aristocratic or even commoner children had seen Eugene, they already knew who she was. However, at this moment, they were unable to admire Eugene's doll-like face and could only focus on the fact that someone had offended the Great Noble, the highest-ranking aristocrat of Xenperia. 

Camille and the girl stared at Eugene in shock. Camille was in pure shock because it was the first time she'd ever seen grey hair, whilst the girl who had yanked Eugene's hat off of her and shouted rudely at her stared at Eugene in complete horror. 

No one knew what Eugene was thinking as her face was blank. For a long time, the atmosphere remained unchanged, with Eugene staring at the girl with an uninterested expression and the girl trembling in her place. After a while, a teacher came and asked everyone to move forward. And it was only then when Eugene moved her gaze away and motioned for Camille to move forward. They passed by the rude girl without turning back. The people from behind Eugene glared at the rude girl and passed by her. A teacher would discover the rude girl standing still in her place a long time later, and she would only move when the teacher took her away.

When it was Eugene's turn to be allocated to a dorm room, the teacher in charge of allocating the room froze in shock. The reason why the teacher froze was that all the great nobles had their private estate inside the academy's ground. Well, only the Great Nobles of Xenperia and high ranking nobles from other countries had housing in the academy. Which was why he was shocked when Eugene was here instead of at the Veria house. 

There was a rule in the academy and that was that all first-years must share a dorm room. This means that first-years are not allowed to have their own separate room. The teacher was in so much shock that he blurted out in front of the other students, 

"Would you like a private room, esteemed Miss?"

The commoners didn't care too much about the words of the teacher and didn't find any fault in what the teacher said but the nobles did. And that was because Eugene was getting special treatment and they saw that there was a clear division between them and Eugene. They disliked this however didn't dare say anything let alone display it on their faces. 

The teacher's careless words would later become a brand that distinguished Eugene from the rest of the nobles because she was "different."
