The principal's mouth opened and closed, unsure if the swordsmanship course was what Eugene would really want to do. Though he knows that this student is a Paladin and someone who has a basic knowledge of training, that was all he knew. He didn't know her accomplishments or her abilities hence he hesitated. He hesitated because he didn't want her to regret choosing this course.
The principal's eyes lurked on Eugene's face and stared at her serious expression before he carefully turned away and accidentally caught sight of her fingers.
Though they were sitting at a meter distance away he was able to catch the subtle bumps on Eugene's finger. What else could it be other than calluses. His eyes moved back to Eugene's determined gaze and with seriousness responded to her hopes,
"Alright. You may take on another subject, however, I have a condition." His eyes were filled with seriousness.
"You are to not give up no matter how brutal the subject is physically to you." His words made Eugene raise a brow but she nodded that she understood.
As Eugene left, she couldn't help but snicker. However brutal it was, it wouldn't be as brutal as training with real knights or real soldiers. As she thought of that, she understood that the principal was somewhat looking down on her age or gender. Maybe even her skills.
Eugene walked back to her dorm and decided to call it a day. It was very convenient to be in Class S as she could call it a day, every day, any time of the week. Eugene did light stretches before heading to the shower room and taking a cold shower. After she got out and changed into comfortable clothes she headed to the kitchen and stared at the big pot sitting on the stove. Her hands moved beside the pot and took the items beside the pot.
She was lucky there were apples in addition to bananas, hence she ate that for lunch. She waited two hours for Camille before deciding that she was no longer able to wait and decided to head to the canteen after changing into a suitable outfit. Her walk to the canteen was normal however the moment she stepped into the canteen her eyes were widened due to the 'war' that was currently playing in front of her.
A fight had broken out in the middle of the canteen. Food was being thrown here and there, flying everywhere. Naturally, Eugene was shocked. She came here to eat, not to witness her precious food being thrown around like a water festival.
Eugene was frozen just like other students who were watching the fight until she saw something from the corner of her eyes. She instinctively rushed towards the middle of the canteen after catching sight of something reflective.
"I SAID-" Just before the boy could finish his word Eugene had already arrived from across the canteen and was clutching his shoulders.
"ARGH-" The boy winced and immediately dropped the fork he was holding.
The arrival of a girl, specifically the girl who has been the talk of the town since the first day naturally shocked everyone and turned the canteen into a room of a dead sea. No one saw her movement and only wondered why she was in the middle of a fight. Only the people close by, specifically the group of students who were fighting saw that the boy they were fighting with dropped a fork out of nowhere. Chills ran down their spine understanding that if Eugene had not interfered, something bad could've occurred.
Eugene took back her arm and stepped back. Her eyes stared at the boy's face who had gone red from shame and embarrassment. Eugene moved her eyes to the group behind the boy and then back to the group in front of the boy.
"Clean it up before the teacher arrives." She spit coldly before stepping away and leaving to queue up to get her food. She left as fast as her arrival, leaving the group of students fighting unable to come back to reality.
The canteen was still as silent as the dead sea even when the groups of students fighting had cleaned up and left. The reason was obvious because Eugene who is the talk of the town was eating at the canteen calmly.
No one dared look at what she was eating or the amount she was eating and could only eat their food in silence. Though no one said anything regarding the incident at the canteen, everyone knew that it was all thanks to Eugene that the fight that occurred resolved peacefully without anyone getting in trouble.
The canteen stayed silent even when Eugene left the canteen. When Eugene left, it was time for classes to begin hence the canteen continued to stay silent until dinner time.
Eugene still had nothing to do hence she walked to Camille's class and followed her to all her classes throughout the day. This continued until the sun was down and the moon was up.
Naturally, Eugene was wrecked when she got back to the dorm. It was a feeling she never had even when she was fighting against the people of Exitium. Eugene noted to herself mentally that she would never follow Camille to her classes ever again. She would rather do light stretches at their dorm than follow her to those boring classes. She could also catch up on the books Louis bought her during her one-month hiatus when she was all depressed.
And just like that, the day ended.
.
.
.
The singing birds was a natural alarm that woke Eugene up from her deep consciousness. Eugene's eyes opened slightly as she glanced towards the window. Though a new day has begun, the sun hasn't gone up yet. After two seconds, her alarm rang, indicating for Eugene to get up. There was no hesitation in Eugene's movement as she got up and lightly freshened up.
Instead of wearing her school uniform, Eugene wore her training uniform and walked out of her room once she was ready. Camille had already prepared leftovers from last night's dinner so Eugene quickly ate her breakfast and left the dorm.
It didn't take her long to arrive at her destination. As she glanced up, she saw a sign that indicated a training hall and she walked forward without hesitation. Though it said 'training hall' it was outdoors. This was where Eugene was going to train for her swordsmanship studies.
Eugene's footstep wasn't light and people had already taken notice of her the moment she stepped into the training hall. Though the training hall was dark, there were lights from torches, allowing the students who had arrived before Eugene to see who the person who arrived was. Before Eugene's arrival, they weren't fully awake yet however, after Eugene's arrival, everyone immediately sobered up and froze.
'Silver hair?'
Who else had silver hair in the first year if not Eugeneia Veria?
Naturally, everyone thought Eugene had walked to the wrong class or that they were still dreaming, but no matter how many times they pinched themselves or slapped themselves mentally, they could still see Eugene in her training clothes leaning against a tree.
There were students who wanted to walk up to her and ask if she was in the right class but no one dared take a step as they were afraid of Eugene. The reason why they were afraid was that everyone who attended this class was all commoners. All the noble boys who wanted to study swordsmanship would choose knighthood instead of swordsmanship. Hence there were truly only commoners here. And would a commoner dare question a noble? No!
Hence even when a clear picture of the place they were standing at began to be clear with the arrival of Mr.Sun no one dare utter a word. It was also now when some students who thought they were dreaming realize that the Eugene they were seeing is not a dream but a person of reality. Even when more students arrived the chain of reaction was the same. These reactions of I'm dreaming-no-it's-a-reality repeated until the arrival of the swordsmanship teacher.
The teacher glanced around his frozen students when his eyes met Eugene's. He was someone with an appearance of someone in their 30's. Rough eyes, rough body, and short dark hair. Someone who wouldn't be popular with Xenperian women due to the tough persona he has.
He glanced at Eugene from head to toe to check her training gear before moving his eyes away.
Eugene was also staring at the instructor since the moment he laid his eyes on her and from what she could tell, he was not exactly happy that she was here today. Nevertheless, he did not express his dislike to her and was nonchalant.
Just a minute later, Eugene's guess was completely wrong. The rough-looking man did dislike that she was here!
