Episode 270- When Eugene heard the crackling sound, she almost cursed under her breath

Neo swings lacked Mas power, however, they were fast and precise, being able to swing consecutively without a single pause. Because Neo had joined the fight, the number of times Eugene attacked lowered and the number of times she defended increased. There was nowhere to pause as one moment she had to defend against Mas powerful strike and the other moment she had to block Neo's quick attack. This state of stalemate went on until a small crack sounded out. 

The crack was heard by everyone surrounding the 4. When Eugene heard the crackling sound, she almost cursed under her breath while Neo and Mas did not let go of this opportunity. 

Mas put together all his strength into one swing and without hesitation struck Eugene whom had no choice but to defend. 

-CRACK-

Bits of Eugene's sword cracked and immediately broke apart in half, however, Mas sword was still incoming. With no choice, Eugene bent her back at a ninety-degree angle and tumbled backwards to avoid Mas' strike. 

Mas's sword hit the ground covered in dirt and made a huge dent on the ground, some dirt flying around creating a layer that blocked Eugene from Mas and Neo. 

"What will your choice be fellow student? Give up?" Neo pointed his sword at her, he had a small but calm smile. 

Eugene said nothing, wiped her sweat, lowered herself and got into a martial arts pose. With one hand she motioned for both Mas and Neo to come forward. Who did they she was? Even without a sword, she could fight. After all, she was a soldier. A soldier who has trained in all areas and was made to prepare for all scenarios. Just like now, when the first crack was heard, Eugene had already prepared for the big attack and was able to escape safety throwing away the wooden sword that was useless at Neo to prevent him from attacking her when she stepped back. 

Neo furrowed his eyebrows as he watched Eugene motion for the fight to continue going on. Naturally, he thought that Eugene would want to admit defeat and not to continue especially without a weapon. Both he and Mas had a mutual understanding. They turned towards each other and nodded. 

Mas went first holding a sword. Eugene watched Mas carefully and decided to strike first, this time she used her flash. Flash simple essence is that whenever you move forward you also move backwards creating this mirage-like effect. But of course, the person himself needs to be very fast for it to work. 

Mas and Neo had a shocked look on their faces because they did not expect Eugene to move this fast nor go behind Mas this quickly. 

"MAS!" Neo shouted to warn Mas as he saw Eugene doing something. 

Mas without any hesitation moved sideways to the ground without a care for his neat character/appearance. 

"Ugh." He rolled as his body hit against the ground. His hand held his neck that had been struck by with Eugene's hand. His eyes contained nothing but shock as he stared at Eugene and then slowly turned to Neo with a look. 

Of course, Neo immediately noticed that something was wrong with the way Mas was expressing himself, especially the hand that held his neck. Not to mention, he was not getting up. What Neo didn't know was that at this moment Mas vision was blurry. As if he could faint right now. His arms tingled with fear as he stared at Eugene. If her attack had succeeded there was no doubt that he would be unconscious right now. And this fact shocked him greatly. 

"Be careful. She's dangerous." Mas warned Eugene as he got back up on his feet. Of course with Mas's warning, Neo wasn't going to dive in without his guards up, hence when Eugene attacked him he only defended and not so much attacked even though he was with a sword. 

Was Eugene someone who would let go of this opportunity? No. Hence she attacked relentlessly without giving Neo the opportunity to attack as well as not allowing Mas the opportunity to attack her from behind. 

Just 20 minutes ago, Eugene was at a disadvantage, and just when her disadvantage increased, she took that opportunity to her advantage. Naturally, it wasn't just Mas nor Neo who was shocked but the instructor and the students whose body was chilled from the intense fight in front of them. 

"Agh!"

Eugene took advantage of Neo's one second of hesitation and punched him straight on his stomach. Without waiting or pausing, she jumped on his body holding his shoulders, slung her body to the side and locked Neo's neck as if she was going to break it. 

Mas who witnessed this understood what Eugene was going to do and naturally will not allow for her to commence that deadly attack. He immediately attacked Eugene not knowing that her big movement was prepared especially for Mas to attack her. As Mas approached Eugene from behind, she took a fall backwards as her thighs clutched onto Neo's head. Using his head as a propeller Eugene jumped mid-air and hung onto Mas instead. 

Everything happened so fast and before Mas could react, Eugene knocked Mas unconscious. As Mas fell, Eugene rolled her body to attack Neo when suddenly an unexpected person jumped out and landed behind Neo. 

Before Neo could notice the person sneaking up behind him, Hen had rendered Neo unconscious using the back of his sword.

"...." Eugene stared at Hen blankly, not expecting this development. 

"...." Everyone stared at Hen and Neo blankly, not expecting the sneaky attack and this underwhelming development. 

"I.. -cough- I announce, the winner is Eugene and Hen. Congratulations!" The macho instructor came up and grabbed both Eugene's and Hen's arms to raise it up in victory. The students who were initially blank from the underwhelming development just now turned to Eugene and stared at her raised arm.

They stared at the instructor with widened eyes! 'How… How dare he touch the daughter of the great noble!?' They were initially going to cheer for Eugene when they suddenly realized something, even more, bigger than her victory! They glared at the instructor's hand that was clearly too big for Eugene's wrist. 

Eugene naturally did not understand why everyone was looking at her weirdly and was confused why they were glaring at the instructor. 

"You have great skills, student Eugeneia. I should have known when you said you trained with the military. The military sure does not let you off with their training." The instructor's face had a big smile on his face as he complimented Eugene. 

"As expected of my junior. Of course, you would be good." 

Eugene turned to the instructor and stared at him with her eyebrows raised, "Junior?" 

The instructor glanced down as his mouth moved in an 'Ah' motion, "I am your military senior. Well, lieutenant. But I am currently on a leave." He smiled at Eugene, whose eyes kept enlarging and enlarging. 

Eugene immediately snatched her arm back and saluted at him. For the first time since arriving, she spoke with a loud voice, allowing everyone to clearly hear her voice,  "Greetings, Lieutenant."

"Now, now. There is no need for formality. I am currently on a break, and when I go back, my rank will probably drop down." He smiled at her. Eugene reluctantly put down her salute and moved backwards to keep a polite distance from the instructor. 

"Now that everyone's skill has been evaluated and you know who you should look up to, I hope everyone will try to become a better person with better skills." The instructor said with a smile when suddenly his face turned gloomy and with a serious face, he said, "We will reign over the knights with our skills. Knights? They are weaker compared to us!" He confidently stated as he clicked his tongue.

Eugene did not have any emotions as this was truly a normal mindset of a soldier. To beat the knights has always been their goal. This will never change and even though it's because of their inferiority complex it is what motives all the soldiers to become stronger. Stronger until everyone relied upon and held respect for them.

The students were confused at the instructor 180 change of face when one of the students began to cheer at the instructor's words.  This prompted everyone else to cheer as well once the instructor's words registered in their head. Of course, they will reign over the knights!

The training ended with a happy vibe and no longer was Eugene a strange noble anymore. Everyone came up to Eugene and began to question her, asking what she does to become this powerful! Eugene did not hide the truth and replied to them honestly about how she has been training since she turned three, again shocking everyone because at that age they were still running around and playing with dirt. This statement made everyone hold Eugene in a different light, holding her as someone who works hard to get to the level she is at now.. The respect they had for Eugene increased along with the motivation to work as hard as Eugene.
