Having Noel guide me on physics and chemistry, a thought-- longing came to mind.

"Noel, can I request something?" I took my eyes away from my book and faced him.

"Yeah?"

"Is there any site I could perhaps use to practice large scale magic?"

I remember back in the castle, there was an empty plot inside the inner courtyard that I would frequent. Destroy, reconstruct. These were the two things I did to that plot of land. As  long as I made sure the surroundings return to normalcy after practice, nobody had any complaints-- except the empress and a few other princes from hearsay.

"And here I thought you were going to ask me for a basic science skill book I.." Noel looked rather tired.

I digress. It's unfortunate Noel had to remodel my understanding of the world. Despite acquiring a certain amount of this world's common sense, at this-- as Noel says-- I would be unable to suitably pass the semester examination.

"Perhaps that is something to be considered.. really considered."

"We'll see about that. I think you wouldn't have any big issues with biology since you already have the basics down. For chemistry.. just remember it's different from alchemy. Some of the concepts you talked about apply to chemistry but remove the magic aspect. Physics-- we might have to consider getting the skill book."

I nodded to his words. Biology was for the sake of understanding Noel's inner workings, for the better. Until I have a clear picture of what I could do to confirm Javiel's theory on converting another individual into a demon lord, I will continue to indulge in this knowledge.

I have, however, hit a roadblock. A large amount of the information did not seem to help in the regard. Things like nutrition, genetics and digestion relate little to none of Javiel's theory.

Regarding chemistry, I could apply concepts I've read about in alchemy. What I read was much more shallow than the ones thought here, however, the concept of particles and the interaction of it to other particles remains the same.

Physics remains a mystery. I now deem it this category of science, this world's special magic as it is the root of many technologies we see today. From the lights in the house to the phone I use to search up information regarding must-try tea from all around the world.

"A space to carry out large scale magic-- I think I have one idea.." Noel said. "I don't think it's possible for you to use magic anywhere here without causing a commotion so.. how about Bleu's domain?"

"Would she allow that?"

"I think so?"

"Then I'll believe that."

I raised my hand into the air, authorizing my stagnant mana to pulsate through me. How long have I felt this free--

"Hell-scape," donning my finger to the surface of the dilapidated island overgrown with flora and beasts, I said.

The ground rumbled, bright red seeping from between the cracks. Soon, lava poured out at the prelude, the rumbling grew louder and then came forth pillars of flames rupturing through the ground. Ash and soot filled the air, dying the world in grey and red.

The screams and shrieks of the dying echoed.

"Bleu, what is this place?" Noel who stood behind me asked. I turned to face them.

"Let's just say this is one of my failed projects," Bleu has a habit of gesturing often with her fingers.

"Failed projects huh.. how about that large sea snake thing in the sea?"

I traced Noel's sights to see a large creature-- a leviathan perhaps-- curled up in one corner of the sea. It seems a barrier had been erected around the place, despite the infinite reach of the sea, the Leviathan is unable to escape.

"Oh. That's my subordinate. I was planning to build a fish tank in my world to fit that guy inside. Since it helped me a lot last time, I thought to spare it."

"Spare it.. what exactly happened here," Noel held his forehead.

"So, what other large-scale magic do you want to try?" Bleu then turned her attention to me and asked.

Currently, we were standing on an invisible platform in the sky, a thin glass membrane that would sparkle at every step we took.

"I was thinking of just exhausting my magic power."

"Wait. Liliath, come to think of it, don't you need to chant? I remember the first time you used healing magic on me, you sung an aria of sorts?"

"About that-- during the time, I thought perhaps I should at least cover up my true abilities. It was due to a misunderstanding. Chants are for conditioning purposes, it helps prepare ourselves to evoke a spell. Depending on the proficiency of mages, they would sometimes skip this step if they have mastered a spell to a subconscious level. Chants are also there for the sake of original magic-- also conditioning purposes."

In fact, chants were misconceptions of magic, explained by one of the heroes that contributed widely to the advancement of magic.

"There's a lot of world history you need to learn, Noel," Bleu said.

"What do you mean?"

"In Liliath's world, there are a bunch of other types of magic like rune magic, magic circuits, spirit magic-- blah blah."

"So it isn't just some simple world huh.."

"There's a lot of confusion and dismissed methods of creating magic, thus many systems were developed and would be applied depending on the situation."

I suppose if Noel is interested, I could be the one to teach him about my world. That would be nice.

Thinking that my role as a student and Noel as the teacher would be reversed, I giggled.

Facing the now hellish island, I prepared my next magic.

"Abyss."

It was a magic I have wanted to try at a much larger scale but hadn't had the chance to do so till now.

Slowly, as if an invisible tip of a spear was vertically struck against the ground-- eroding everything in its path. A large hole bored into the centre of the island-- continuing through the layers of earth.

"Ohh-- that's dangerous. It could've broken through the barrier."

"Barrier?" Noel asked.

"Yup. There's a limit to the vertical height and depth of this domain you see-- it's like a square box. Not that I really know what would happen if the box had a hole in it."

"..."

"Come on. Liliath would probably never use this kind of magic in your world," Bleu had probably read Noel's thoughts. And it was true. I wouldn't want to destroy the balance of peace in Noel's world. "Look, even Liliath thought about not using this sort of magic in your world."

As Noel and Bleu continued to watch out for me, I continued using magic on the island and eventually came to my limits.

With cold sweat covering my body and on the verge of falling, Noel came and held me. Pleasant.

"Don't be too hard on her, Noel. She wanted to exhaust herself on purpose," Bleu said.

"Alright, I get it." Sometimes I wish to know the contents of their conversion. It's a mystery whenever Bleu replies to Noel's thoughts where the context of the conversion would otherwise be lost to someone like me.

"Oh. Actually, Noel was just about to tell you to not push yourself too hard."

"Something like that. So are you good?" Noel asked, helping me to sit on the ground.

"I'm satisfied."

"Me too. I've been thinking about how I should deal with this island for a while now," Blelu said with a smile.

"Noel, allow me to lie on the floor."

"Okay? Bleu--"

"One pillow right up!"

"Thanks-- uwa!?"

The pillow squarely hit him in the face. His reaction was cute.

"It's revenge," Bleu triumphed.

"Yeah, yeah.."

Noel laid me down on the pillow. In this position, he was looking down at me with a wryly smile. Being held like this doesn't feel so bad does it?

He touched my forehead and played with my hair as I laid there.

Smiling, I shifted my head on the pillow to see the island where it once stood one last time. Fortunately, there wasn't a need to repair anything thus I didn't need to spare any energy reconstructing the damage.

--The small continent that had been wiped out completely.

"Good night Noel."

I closed my eyes and let my consciousness sink.

When I awoke, I was no longer in Bleu's domain, back to the real world. From Noel's explanation, it seemed that I had left early. Noel and Bleu got the chance to talk to each other in my absence before he returned.

I wonder what they talked about?
