It was a silent night in the apartment.

This time, 4 of us sat around the kitchen table. Usually Prune would be left out but she decided to join in on our evening discussion-- or what Liliath would prefer to call it: a small tea party.

After the incident, Liliath came into the apartment and attended to Prune, assisting her in cleaning up herself and wearing new clothes-- I have no idea what happened then. I probably slept after dwelling in all that guilt.

Even now, there’s this really weird feeling in my chest. It’s like this weird satisfaction from both being able to save Prune in time and actually killing someone-- Why? Is killing fun? A demon lord’s normal instincts?

The other half of the equation was guilt, fear and disgust.

How could I feel so high after killing someone? It makes absolutely no sense-- morally. That guy deserved it right? Right? RIGHT?

I couldn’t come out of the apartment for the whole day, the horns just wouldn’t go away no matter how I tried. I couldn’t put it away. I couldn’t calm down.

The soiled clothes and cloth used to clean up the mess was now spinning in the washing machine. There’s that very faint hum in the background.

The couch was moved closer to the veranda and the sliding door was opened to aerate the place.

Going into perverted territory, Prune’s hymen wasn’t broken for all I know. I guess that’s the fortunate thing. But this would serve as a trauma for the rest of her life. I don’t know exactly how well she’s coping with it. And as I’ve said so many times before, it’s a lie to say I wasn’t worried.

But what position am I in to really support Prune anyways? I have Liliath, and I’m pretty sure the fact that Liliath and I are already a couple is what deters her away.

Nine dealt with the side of the heroes and wasn’t updated on the situation here until Nataline returned to the orphanage crying because Prune was kidnapped.

Nataline and Miss Familia reported the missing Prune to the knights on duty, I guess we can expect a ‘wanted’ poster of a silver haired girl on the guild some time soon-- just kidding. I have no clue how they were going to find someone without an actual image of the person to begin with.

Just like me, Prune hadn’t shown herself outside after the assault and just couped up in her room.

I learnt from Nine the three individuals we saved were Aoki Kaito, Takata Sayu, and Her Highness Alytia Erudite. Because my brain was filled with water, I had to learn that I am to refer to the two heroes as Aoki-sama and Takata-sama. By their surname, not first name.

I know it’s common sense for someone who loves light novels, just that it becomes confusing how surnames are written first in Japanese names. I wouldn’t want to make the mistake of referring to other Japanese by their first name even though the ‘first name’ in order is the surname. UGh..

Would you look at that, we also saved Her Highness Alytia Erudite, Siesta’s elder sister. Dunno what happened but Nine said it was a heartwarming scene of mutual forgiveness and reconciliation. He didn’t go on to explain too much about the specifics.

Lunch and dinner were takeaways brought by either Nine and Liliath.

That’s enough of the specifics, now back to the current state of affairs.

“I’m sorry. I should’ve.. stayed calm,” Prune said.

What she was referring to here was the fact that I added an SOS widget. Press that and everyone would be notified of an emergency. If Prune did that in the beginning, maybe she could’ve avoided being half-raped.

“It’s pointless apologizing isn’t it..” I sighed. I don’t know why, whenever I look at Prune, I’d feel annoyed, mad even. Was it because she forced me into killing someone? No clue.

Though, I'm surprised I wasn’t aroused by her naked body in the slightest. Period, full stop. I’m pretty sure I’m not human anymore.

“Well, it’s a first.. I’m just glad you didn’t actually fall,” I muttered.

“Noel, Prune, Nine,” Liliath placed three cups on the table. She then sat down beside Prune.

“Thanks.”

“I wonder what tea this is,” Nine stared right into his cup.

“How should we proceed with this?” I muttered.

“Hm? How to proceed? Just drink right?”

“No, I mean, how should we deal with Prune’s sudden disappearance. Do we just say we found her again or something?”

“Wouldn’t that be the best course of action?” Liliath replied.

“Sorry..” Prune said again and lowered her head.

She wasn’t even looking at her tea, her hands were placed on her thigh.

Oh, I think I get why Liliath gets mad at me for saying sorry all the time now. It is actually annoying. It’s like having this guilt because you're inciting the other party to apologize to you when you just want them to just stop apologizing and accept it.

“Noel, you’re still mad right?” Nine asked after a sip of his tea.

“I don’t think so.”

“Noel, is it that hard to admit?” Liliath asked, passing me the tea she had just drank from.

“I’m I really?” I received it. Looks like it’s a fresh minty one this time. Liliath stroked Prune’s back and whispered something into her ear. She’s definitely using magic to block out the sound. I’m normally able to pick up faint whispers.

Prune nodded and finally took up her tea cup after some hesitation.

“So what happened to the heroes after that? They returned to the castle? And how about the other heroes in the dungeon that don’t know about their condition?” I asked.

“Takata-chan and Aoki-san went to the castle together with both the princesses. They have this communication talisman to contact the other side is what they said.”

“Okay..”

It’s weird how talismans are a thing. The magic concept behind it is circuit magic,  different from innate magic and rune magic.

“In short, we bring Prune to the orphanage tomorrow to let Nataline-san and the other’s know you were alright,” Nine said. “Any objections?”

Thinking about, thought it may be suspicious.. no. The two heroes and second princess suddenly appearing in the make-shift drawing room is weird enough. If we were to suddenly announce that Prune was safe, it isn’t half as bad as what happened today.

“No objections.”

“I too am in agreement.”

“Prune?” Nine called out.

“N-No problems with that..” she said, stuttering.

The three of us nodded. It was weird how there was a fourth participant, Prune this time around.

“You know, I kind of get the feeling that we’re forgetting something,” Nine said, placing a finger to his chin.

“Are you raising a flag there? I think today is bad enough..”

Something we forgot.. I somehow get the sense that we did forget something. I just don’t know what...

“There there..” Liliath jumped off her seat and consoled me by patting my head.

I let loose a sigh. “It’s alright Liliath.”

“It’s big..” she grabbed my horn.

“Don’t say something misleading please..”

“I’m not implying that. Your head is by nature dirty, I was referring to these,” Liliath said and manifested her horns. Her’s is still bigger though.

“So are the males the dominant ones or the females in terms of horn size?” Nine asked.

“The males.”

“Oh yeah, speaking of which..” I actually wanted to ask about Liliath’s demon wings but realized how we’re actually pushing Prune aside. She had been sitting there quietly without trying to start a conversation.

I felt guilt from two different planes sandwiched against me.

I killed someone.

And I also forced someone to participate in this isekai adventurer.

In the end, is it my fault? I’m overthinking things.. It’s pointless to blame. It’s self sabotage. If I wanted, I should change things.

“Prune, do you have anywhere you’d like to visit?”
“Visit?”

“Tomorrow, it’s my turn to take a break. There’s still a lot of other places we can visit if you want..” Why am I even suggesting this?

“She’s pretty hooked on the orphanage. If there’s a place she would want to spend her time it would be with the kids,” Nine said.

“No.. I only wanted to accompany Nataline-san, that’s all..”

Right, Nataline is pregnant. Huh, I guess Prune does still possess that motherly part about her.

“Do you not detest the frog?” Liliath queried.

“Oh, that frog: NOT a Princess. You should’ve seen what I did to it last time,” Nine giggled. Okay.. not cute. Hm? Nine’s male persona has changed quite a bit ever since he made his mind to be more male.. or was there something I’m not getting like his relationship with Bleu?

“Ah, that thing.. I’ll just ignore it.”

“It is rather annoying, is it not? I wonder where it came from..” Liliath looked to the ceiling.

“Maybe it’s a hidden quest of sorts,” I said, “Maybe it needs a princess to kiss it to awaken it’s inner prince.”

“But it’s name is already Princess,” Nine said.

“True,” Prune replied.

“Then we need a prince to kiss it? It’s not a female frog with a sexy guy voice right?”

“I’m certain it’s a male, I appraised it thoroughly.”

“Great, we just need to find a prince and...”
