The imperial capital of Bei’yuan Kingdom was more prosperous and luxurious than that of Qing’yu Kingdom. Sword Masters who came and went were also of much higher cultivation base.
Many of the people sitting in the luxurious carriages in the imperial capital exuded the auras of Core Elemental Realm, or even Earth Elemental Realm, so one could imagine that there must be a gathering of masters here.
And this was just a large kingdom on Guang’ling Realm’s Northern State—if one arrived at Zhong’zhou, it would be filled with Sword Deities walking the paths everywhere.
“Mu Yan, let’s go back together to the palace.” Fei Yan Chen suggested.
In the past half a year, they encountered more than a dozen waves of Hidden City killers ambushing them, and it was all thanks to Lou Mu Yan and her group, otherwise he really wouldn’t have been able to make it back.
“Let’s go to the Mercenary Union to hand in the missions first.” Lou Mu Yan thought for a bit and said: “You can return to the palace first, then pick us up after you’ve settled down.”
They’ve completed hundreds of missions in the past six months, and there were still more than thirty missions of rank 6 and 7 that hadn’t yet been handed in. She was going to rank up the mercenary rank first.
Recently, they had heard many rumours of the chaos among the Bei’yuan Kingdom’s imperial family. She noticed that although Fei Yan Chen hadn’t rushed back, but he had been deploying forces secretly. This time, he should be able to catch all the rebellious princes.
“Alright, then you can all go to this place to stay temporarily.” Fei Yan Chen took out a token and a map, handing them to Lou Mu Yan, then pointed to a red dot on the map and said: “This is my second mansion.”
“Alright!” Lou Mu Yan wasn’t argumentative either.
After Fei Yan Chen explained, he took the elderly man in gold and left quickly.
Lou Mu Yan discovered that ever since Fei Yan Chen appeared and left, there were already a lot of mental energies focused on them, but she ignored them as if she didn’t know.
She took out the map and quickly found the location of the Mercenary Union, then let Bing Ji drive the carriage there.
The Mercenary Union in Bei’yuan Kingdom had a large base, and there were also a lot of mercenaries entering and exiting.
After entering the gate of the Mercenary Union, Lou Mu Yan took the Mission Crystal directly to the special area on the third floor to hand in the missions.
After half a year of frenziedly accepting missions, Lou Mu Yan’s Mission Crystal had been upgraded from transparent to yellow, so there was no need to queue up below for submitting missions. There was a special receptionist in charge.
On the third floor, a beautiful female attendant of the Mercenary Union walked over with a smile.
“Young Miss, Young Sirs, are you here to accept missions or hand in missions?”
“We’re handing in missions.” Lou Mu Yan replied flatly.
The female attendant took Lou Mu Yan and her party to the third private room with a smile, “There’s no one in this private room, please enter.”
Lou Mu Yan nodded casually and led Mu’rong Qing brothers, Lei Huang, Bing Ji, and Wu Nuan into the room together.
A middle-aged man with a goat beard was sitting in the private room. When he saw someone enter, he smiled and pointed to the seat in front of him, saying: “Please sit.”
Then he ordered the female attendant: “Serve these distinguished guests some tea.”
“Yes!”
After sitting down, Lou Mu Yan maintained her calm expression and didn’t speak first. The middle-aged man suppressed the scrutiny in his eyes and asked with a smile: “Young Miss, you’re here to hand in missions?”
“All the missions that have yet to be handed in after accepting will all be handed in.” Lou Mu Yan took out the Mission Record Crystal, then took out a list of missions that had been accepted on it, and pushed more than thirty interspatial rings containing mission items onto the table.
The middle-aged man revealed slight surprise in his eyes, then immediately checked the missions and mission items.
The beautiful female servant made a cup of tea for Lou Mu Yan and the others. She waited patiently for the manager to confirm.
After about an incense stick of time, the middle-aged manager suppressed the shock in his heart and checked that all missions had been complete.
“Young Miss, all the missions you have accepted previously have been completed. We are now calculating the points.” The middle-aged man’s attitude was kinder.
Lou Mu Yan took a sip of tea and replied: “No worries.”
After thinking about it, she asked: “By the way, is the party badge design we handed in last time ready?”
Because the party badge had been too ugly before, they redesigned the party badge and submitted it.
The middle-aged man inspected it and said: “Your party badge has been remade, I will order someone to get it.”
The Mercenary Union had a special place for making party badges. After they were made, it would be very convenient for the Mercenary Union to pick them up using Teleportation Arrays.
“Alright, then I’ll trouble Manager.”
Soon, the manager handed Lou Mu Yan an interspatial ring with the party badges within.
She took one out and inspected it. There was a picture of a fiery red phoenix reaching nirvana, reborn from the flames, which was carved so lifelike that she was very satisfied.
Then she paid five million low-quality spiritual stones used to make the party badges.
After waiting for a little longer, all the points were calculated.
The individual mercenaries of Lou Mu Yan and her party successfully advanced to rank 7, and the Mu Feng Mercenary Party also jumped from rank 5 to rank 6 mercenary party.
“Congratulations to everyone for successfully advancing.” The middle-aged man said with a smile on his face.
“Manager is too polite.” Lou Mu Yan said with a faint smile, “We will leave you to it, and leave first.”
“Alright, take care.” The middle-aged man sent Lou Mu Yan and her party out before returning into the private room, then immediately reported the matter.
In a management office of the Mercenary Union Headquarters, there were three people who were recording the situation of the Mission Crystal.
“Look, the rank of the Mu Feng Mercenary Party actually reached rank 6.” One of the white-haired elderly man said in surprise after seeing a fluctuation.
Another burly man said: “Is it strange a mercenary party advanced to rank 6?”
It wasn’t surprising that the Mercenary Union had mercenary parties advancing to rank 6 every once in a while—unless there were some other special reasons.
“They were only a rank 1 mercenary party half a year ago.” The white-haired elderly man paused, then continued: “I’ve been paying attention to them ever since their crazily quick accepting and handing in of missions. I discovered that the number of their members hadn’t changed.”
“How many of them are there?” Another asked, a more scholarly, elegant man.
“Only six.” The white-haired elderly man replied: “The leader of the party is called Lou Mu Yan, and the deputy is called Mu’rong Qing. The several other members are named Mu’rong Yu, Bing Ji, Lei Nuo1, Wu Nuan.”
“I’ve never heard of the ‘Lou’ surname before. But why is Mu’rong Qing’s name so similar to that of the Young Lord of the Mu’rong Clan?” The elegant man pondered for a while and asked.
The white-haired elderly man chuckled: “I checked, and that Mu’rong Qing is precisely the Young Lord of the Mu’rong Clan. As for why he followed that girl name Lou Mu Yan to form a mercenary party to complete missions, I don’t know.”
“If that’s the case, they indeed deserve our attention.” The elegant man said: “I wonder what the background of that party leader named Lou Mu Yan is?”
“I can’t find any information about her background, which means that her background is either too deep for a Minister of our level to find out, or there’s another possibility that she’s from the lower interface and is an ascended Sword Master.”
The white-haired elderly man continued: “By the way, she’s only nineteen-years-old.”
“To become a Sword Master at Core Elemental Realm at only nineteen, such talent is indeed good. I wonder if she has any other specialties.” The elegant man tapped the table lightly and pondered deeply.
“According to the feedback in the past half a year, she may also be a grade 7 alchemist.” The white-haired elderly man deliberately enquired about the latest news of the Mu Feng Mercenary Party ever since he paid attention to them.
“If that’s the case, then it’s worthy of our attention. Report this matter to the Elders.” The elegant man looked up after a moment of thought and said cautiously.
The white-haired elderly man stroked his beard with a smile: “I was also thinking the same. If such talent isn’t from the younger generation of other major forces, then we could recruit her into the central hall of the Mercenary Union.”
“Mm, I’ll pass her news to the Elders now.”
1I don’t think this was a mistake. Lei Huang’s name literally translates to ‘Thunder Monarch’. Or ‘Thunder Emperor’. ‘Huang’ (皇) here means ‘Emperor/Monarch’. So it might be that they thought it would be too eye-catching for Lei Huang to have the character for ‘Emperor’ when writing his name. Also fun fact, the ‘Nuo’ (诺) means ‘promise’. Maybe a reference to the promises Lei Huang and Lou Mu Yan made to each other? XD Anyways I’m not 100% either considering how many typos the author’s made before, so we’ll see.
