Chapter 45 – That’s The Original Deal
‘It’s slower…’
She had been paying more attention as the magic power absorbed by the Elemental Cube had increased recently. She was trying not to waste her magic in vain, and she was struggling to maintain a certain level of her magic, but she happened to run to Ashia and used the magic which she had never planned to use.
‘I should have killed her that day…’
It was an ill-fated relationship—a dirty, ill-fated relationship that made people cheap and petty. A thin line was drawn on Lisa’s forehead.
First, she had to replenish her magic. She didn’t even know if the Elemental Cube was alright.
Aileen held out a small potion bottle in front of her as she murmured. “Lisa, drink this.”
Lisa stopped thinking and stared blankly at the potion bottle. “Is that… a potion?”
“Yes, I went out for a while and bought it.”
Lisa looked up at Aileen confusedly. “Was it… because of me?”
“Yes, I’m worried about you, Lisa.”
“…”
The question didn’t disappear from Lisa’s face. However, Aileen didn’t care about her reaction and opened the lid of the potion bottle before handing it to her.
“…”
She looked at the potion bottle she handed her. It wasn’t pleasant; her kindness was a bit annoying as well. Before she could even ask her why, Aileen opened her mouth first as if she knew what Lisa was thinking inside her head.
“Because you’re a friend.”
“…”
Lisa’s eyes widened a little as she looked at Aileen. Aileen got up from bed with a light smile and walked to the table. “I guess I have dragged you around too much. I think that’s why Lisa’s stamina couldn’t stand it…”
Carefully bringing the potion in her hand to her mouth, she glanced at Aileen and said, “… Thank… you….”
A soft smile appeared on Aileen’s lips at the sound of her whisper.
Knock, knock.
Just then, someone knocked on the bedroom door. Aileen and Lisa’s heads turned in the direction of the door. It opened and an employee of the mansion came in and reported the news.
“What? Who did you say it was?” Lisa asked the employee again with a puzzled expression.
“He said that he was an escort knight sent by the Crown Prince. He said that the Magic Tower’s Master might need an escort.”
’What nonsense is this again? I asked for a place to connect the Grand Duke and the Imperial Princess, but he sent me an escort instead?’

She went down from the bed and shook her head. As she staggered for a moment, Aileen anxiously said as she held her arm, “Lisa is resting. I will go and meet him.”
“…No, I can’t make the Imperial Princess do such a thing.”
Lisa shook her head, released Aileen’s hand, and walked towards the door. She left the room and headed to the parlor. As soon as she entered the parlor, the first thing that caught her eye was the man wearing a white uniform looking up at the painting on the wall.
Did they send a paladin from the Temple?
He was taller than average, while his wide shoulder blades were engraved with colorful patterns, and a pure white uniform embroidered with gold thread.
Was it because of that? He somehow felt sacred even though he had a menacing physique. Feeling her presence, the said paladin turned towards her.
‘Oh…’
His pure white uniform and harsh eyes didn’t seem to match. Lisa’s breath was stuck in her throat at that gaze. She was planning to threaten him as soon as she met him, but she instead fell for the elegant appearance of the paladin she saw.
’Have I ever been so enchanted by a man?’
The paladin greeted her with courtesy. “it’s nice meeting you. I am a member of the Temple Knights, Theros Kadrian, who will be your escort knight. I am commanded to take responsibility for your safety during your stay in the Karhan Empire.”
His face looked more beautiful up close. Lisa’s eyes fluttered at his manly features and voice.. “…Sir… Theros Kadrian.”
“…”
“Theros… Theros.”
’Come to think of it, I think I’ve heard that name somewhere…’
Theros’ forehead narrowed as he looked down at Lisa murmuring his name. “…You can call me Kadrian.”
Lisa could feel the displeasure at Theros’ tone. “Ah… You don’t seem to like being called by your first name.”
“Yes.”
“There are people like that. Alright then, Sir Kadrian.” Lisa held out her hand in front of him.
“For now, I want to go up and rest because I am not feeling well.”
He looked down at Lisa’s hand that had reached out in front of him. “Before that.”
“Yes?”
Theros tilted his head and looked at the sofa. Following his gaze, Lisa’s head turned.
“I think there are guests who came before me.”
“…”
Their eyes turned to the sofa on the other side of the parlor. On the sofa, there was a man who was watching them with his legs crossed arrogantly, then he shook his head and spoke slowly. “Very well. I was just about to get bored.”
He looked at Lisa and gestured as if telling her to sit down on the sofa. Seeing his face, Lisa hurriedly turned away with wide eyes.
