The main character, Yu Isshiki, is a freshman in college.
He has a girlfriend, Karen Mitsumoto, who is also a freshman at the same university and in the same club.
One day, however, Yu finds out that Karen is having an affair with Tetsuya Kamokura, a handsome guy who is her senior.
In desperation and disappointment, Yuu calls Kamokura’s girlfriend, Touko Sakurajima, and tells her that he is having an affair with Karen.
“I want you to have an affair with me.”
He tells her
However, Touko
“If the affair is real, I won’t tolerate it to that extent. I will dump them when they are most in love with me and declare in front of them that I will spend the night with someone else.”
This method of retaliation is presented in the following way.
Thus, Yu and Touko decided to join forces to get back at each other’s unfaithful boyfriends and girlfriends.
Touko is a beautiful girl known as “Miss Campus in the Shadows,” and in high school she was known as the “Goddess of the Library.
Yu, Touko, and Kamokura are also from the same high school.
Yu has admired Touko since their high school days.
For Yu, there are two purposes.
The first was “to get back at Karen for betraying him and cheating on him”.
The second was to retaliate against Tetsuya Kamokura, who is his senior and cuckolded his girlfriend, by doubling down on his treachery.
In order to do so, he must be chosen as the “partner with whom she spends the night for the last time,” as Touko puts it.
Touko insists that she must first “get conclusive evidence of their affair”.
The two ask for help from each other’s best friends, Yota Ishida and Kazumi Kano, and through Touko’s trickery, they finally witness Karen spending the night at Kamokura’s apartment.
Once the affair between Kamokura and Karen is confirmed, the date for “dumping the unfaithful partner and declaring that she will spend the night with another partner” is set for Christmas Eve.
Yu must win back Karen’s feelings, which are on the verge of falling apart, before then.
So, Touko tells Yu of her plan to have Kamokura cancel the trip. They have planned to have an affair.
The plan is that Kamokura will disappoint Karen by canceling the trip, which she was looking forward to, and Yu will comfort her.
The plan succeeds brilliantly.
Next, Touko determines that “Karen has a strong desire for self-expression and approval,” and from this point of view, she advises Yu to “increase the popularity of the girls around her.
She thought that this would make Karen’s shock at losing Yu a bigger one.
She therefore took various measures, such as gathering the core girls in the circle and encouraging Yu to interact with them.
Their attempts were successful, and the girls in the circle began to appreciate Yu more and more.
As a result, Karen again began to show interest in Yu.
On the other hand, Touko had a complex about whether she was not attractive as a person or pretty as a girl.
So, she asked Yuu to tell her what a pretty girl is in the eyes of boys.
Yu only had a few common things to say the first time, which disappointed Touko.
However, he takes her out on a one-day date, saying, “I want another chance.
Yu takes a picture of “a scene he saw and thought she was attractive” and gives it to her to show her how attractive she is.
This date also brought them closer psychologically.
Then Christmas Eve.
The entire circle will have a party.
At this party, the “best couple” is voted for, and the winning couple receives a hotel room at a Bayside hotel.
The best couple is Tetsuya Kamokura, the most handsome guy in the circle, and Touko, the “Miss Campus in the Shadows.
However, due to a scheme by Kazumi, the host, the hotel room ticket was awarded to Touko personally.
In front of everyone, Touko calls Yuu and declares that she and Kamokura are breaking up, and Yuu is breaking up with Karen.
When Kamokura asks why, Yu says, “Because you were cheating on me with my girlfriend Karen!
Karen initially denies it, saying “that’s not true,” but when confronted with one piece of evidence after another, she turns the tables and leaves the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Kamokura also insists that he will not leave Touko, but he cannot answer the last question from Touko, and Touko leaves the restaurant with Yu.
Yu and Touko enter a Bayside hotel.
Yuu is very nervous, but Touko doesn’t seem to be in a hurry.
So Yuu asks Touko, “You’re going out with me, right?” The two mutually agree to be in a relationship.
“I’ll stay here like this until midnight.”
Yu and Touko spent time at the hotel doing nothing, just as Touko said.
Just before midnight, however, she says that her father has come to pick her up and she has to leave.
According to Touko
Se said, “All I have to do is make Kamokura and Karen think that I spent the night with Yu. I have no intention of actually doing anything.”
She tells Yu. And
“I have no intention of having a sexual relationship until marriage. I had no physical relations with Kamokura either.”
And left the room.
It was there that Yu learned for the first time that he had “gotten back at Kamokura more than he had ever imagined”.
