It was the final battle. Intricately twisted pillars stood around us like broken bones sticking out from flesh. Stained glass with a grotesque mosaic that had probably taken a skilled artisan to make laid shattered at our feet. Paintings and tapestries, likely old enough to be considered artifacts, were ripped and tattered, blown off the walls and scattered to the raging wind. What used to be a magnificent dark lord's castle was now reduced to no better than rubble.

"...well? Are they about finished, hero? I tire waiting for your lot to resolve your love squabble," the Demon King asked, lazing languidly upon his black throne of bones. It looks cool, but it's probably really uncomfortable to sit on.

"...really, I have no words of apology. I'm very sorry," I replied, watching the scene of carnage with a deep sense of regret.

My name is Tooru Aikawa. I was summoned to this world by the human king to defeat the Demon King. I always dreamed of going on my own Isekai adventure, becoming super OP and having a beauty on each arm. Naturally, there was no reason to refuse!

So, I set off on a journey to the Demon King's castle. The king didn't send me off alone, but assigned members to my party to fight alongside me.

The king's own daughter, princess Victoria Celadon. A blonde haired, blue eyed beauty. She's noble, dignified and elegant, but she's sensitive about her slender body. When we first met, she was apprehensive towards my skills and would often throw insults or violence towards me, but lately she has softened up and shows me a smile every now and then. She is contracted to the spirit of a fire dragon and fights gallantly with fire and sword.

Sophia Brantley, the one and only Saintess of the Church of Light. Her hair is an unworldly silver and crystal clear blue eyes. She was picked up by the church as an orphan and quickly became enshrined as the holy Saintess once they discovered the magnitude of her holy power. Thanks to that, she has been lonely ever since, wishing not to be worshiped but to have a friend. She often initiates skinship, though it embarrasses me to be in such close contact with her generous assets. She has been kind to me ever since we met, but for some reason the others in my party seem a little wary of her. I wonder why?

Alicia Magus. Descended from a long line of sorcerers and rumored to have a fairy ancestor, she's a skilled wielder of magic. Not just skilled, but a genius. The spirits flit around her like dancing lights whenever they see her and they grant her their strength when she calls on them. Her hair is a unique shade of slate blue and her eyes are red like rubies. Her clan was obliterated by the Demon King when she was young, and she is the last descendant of the Magus family. She generally doesn't show much emotion due to training when she was young so the spirits wouldn't go out of control. Others say it's hard to get a good read on her thoughts, but is it really so? She feels like an open book to me sometimes. She has such a lovely smile, it's a shame she doesn't show it that often.

Last but not least, Diana. She has long black hair, golden eyes and a stylish body. She wasn't with us when we started our journey. In fact, our relationship started off a little roughly. Diana was one of the Four Great Generals of the Demon King's Army. As a vampire and necromancer, she could enthrall normal humans and even monsters. When we were up against her, it was always difficult because our hands would be tied if she took any hostages or attacked us with her thralls in town while our guard was down. But after she was left for dead by another general, I couldn't leave her alone and took her in. To be honest, she doesn't get along well with the others but she is sweet with me. Sometimes I find her in my bed waiting for me at night, but the other girls always come and take her away before anything can happen. As thanks for saving her on the brink of death, Diana offered to guide us to and through the Demon King's castle. The quickest way to save the world would be to take out the boss, so I agreed to follow her lead. The other girls made a fuss about Diana's possible betrayal, but I trust the look in her eyes. They were surely full of sincerity.

With that, we followed Diana through her guidance and made it to the castle. Though there were some mishaps, we were all able to make it safely to the Demon King's throne room. We even went through all the motions and dialogue.

*Start flashback*

"It seems some rats have sneaked into my castle. Why don't you come out of hiding and face me proudly?" (Demon King)

"Heh. Seems like it won't be that easy, huh?" (Me)

"You underestimate me, puny mortals. But, I will acknowledge you as brave fools." (Demon King)

"The foolish one here is you, Demon King! No longer will we humans put up with your tyranny! I, Tooru Aikawa, the hero of humans, won't allow it!" (Me)

"The god of light can no longer overlook your sins. Prepare to be annihilated, ufufu." (Sophia)

"...I will get revenge for my clan." (Alicia)

"If it's for Darling, I'll do anything!  No hard feelings alright, Demon King?" (Diana)

"Yes! We'll defeat you, end this oppression and return to my kingdom triumphantly… And th-then, the hero and I will m-m-marry and live happily ever after!" (Victoria)

"""...hah?""" (All the girls)

*End flashback*

It was going so well up until that point.

"Darling is going to be together forever with me!"

CLATTERCLATTERCLATTERCLATTER Whoosh! Whoosh!

A dark, formless energy gathered behind Diana. Soon, the formless blob began taking on the shape of a thousand moaning souls and began to slowly fill the area. The noises made from their mouths sounded like incessant clattering of teeth. Her blackened fingers grew into sharp claws, dripping some ominous liquid as she attacked the others with high speed.

"Together with a monster!? Don't kid yourself! Everyone knows the princess and the hero ends up together in all the stories!"

TING! SHWING! FOOM! KA-BOOM!!

Victoria parries the attacks with her silver great sword, impressive considering her size. The force from her cuts travels and slices through pillars and walls, contributing more rubble to the pile. The seal on her hand grows a vibrant red as a massive fireball is conjured and sent hurling into the fray.

"...He promised… to restore my clan!"

WOOOOONG! KSH! PHEWWW PHEWWW PHEWWW! Crumble crumble.

Alicia throws up a transparent blue shield to protect her from the carnage. Then, magic circles appear in the air in quick succession, some layered multiple times. Using the highest located circles, swirling bolts of blue energies appear behind her at once. The energies quickly shoot out in the form of arrows, sharply turning in zigzags and chasing any fleeing opponents. The spirits rush toward the lower magic circles and enter into them. The ground rises as lumpy clay figures emerge from the ground, glowing magic circles on their body like veins. The golems, powered by the spirits, rush toward their prey like feral children.

"Hah. You're all deluding yourselves. Only the holiest of maidens deserve to stand by the one chosen by god!"

Cling ka-clang cling… Aaaaaahhh~ FA-WHOOSH!

There was a faint sound of bells and chorus in the air as the area around Sophia glowed with light and sparkles with golden dust. She bent her head in reverence before swinging her golden staff in a wide arc, a huge pulse of light coming from it and cleanly slicing through a whole wall.

It's chaos.

But to be honest, it didn't feel that bad being fought over by four gorgeous beauties. It did feel a bit rude to keep the Demon King waiting though.

"Ummm, girls?" I interrupted, trying to make peace. It was a little nerve-wracking to be confessing my feelings at this moment, but the situation wouldn't improve if I didn't speak up now, so I gathered my courage. "You don't have to fight. I… Towards all of you, I li–"

"Sir Tooru–

"Mr. Tooru–

"Tooru–

"Darling–

""""Shut up for a minute.""""

Hiiii, so scary. I've never seen them look at me with such intense eyes.

"Haha. Women," the Demon King commented amusedly and left it at that. It was unpleasant hearing him mock my circumstances, but I didn't really have a leg to stand on at the moment.

"My lord. Shall I prepare some 'pop corn'? I've heard it is quite a treat to have when watching entertainment."

"Whoa!? When did you get there!??!"

A little imp demon with leathery bat wings was settled reverently at the Demon King's side. His skin was a deep red, he had two horns coming out of his bald head and a pointed tail swayed contentedly behind him.

"Me? Raimon is always here, waiting at my lord's side so I may serve him." The little imp Raimon nodded proudly at his own statement.

"'Popped-corn?' Fumu, sounds interesting. Prepare some at once." The Demon King waved his hand and Raimon quickly stood at attention.

"Yes! Right away, my lord!" Raimon chirped before disappearing instantly. Meanwhile, I was feeling sulky.

"It's 'popcorn,' not 'popped corn.' Also it's pretty rude to find amusement in someone else's plight."

"Is it not the consequences of your own actions? I find it pretty rude to lead on a number of mates at the same time," the Demon King returned, smirking.

"That's… true. But it's not like I meant to leave them all hanging in the end."

"Oh hoh. Desiring a beauty for both of your arms, and each of your legs. A greedy hero, aren't you? Kuhahaha! Typical of humans!" The Demon King seemed to get a kick out of that as he began laughing. I was gradually losing my patience.

"What. Don't tell me a powerful, good looking guy like you doesn't have any ladies throwing themselves at your feet. I'm sure you go through them like wet tissues." I scowled, definitely not feeling jealous that the Demon King, who had immense power and authority on top of dashing good looks also had luck with the ladies. Long silky red hair, eyes a deep, almost black red, wicked looking eyebrows and horns, and even a clearly defined sixpack. Truly different from the normal little me, black hair and eyes, who was just an average Japanese loser.

"I won't say there aren't any who approach me with those intentions, but… No. I can't say I would." The Demon King met eyes with me, and for the first time I felt a true sincerity from him. "For you see, once we decide on a true mate, us demons pair for life."

I coughed, tearing my eyes away before this got any weirder. "Th-thats ridiculous. Don't you guys live for centuries?"

"Haha. That, we do."

Living a monogamous life for hundreds of years? That sounds crazy. I don't have much (or any) dating experience myself, but I don't think I could ever handle that.

"My lord! I have returned with the 'popped-corn' you have asked for!" Raimon once again appeared from nowhere, popping into existence with a burst of smoke.

"Hoh. Just in time. Looks like it's finally wrapping up."

At the Demon King's words, I turned my full attention back towards my (potential) girlfriends. The room was even worse for wear now. The walls and pillars were totaled, making the room look more like an open-aired open-ceiling space. Uwah, I know we were probably gonna wreck it fighting the Demon King anyways, but I still feel kinda bad. I hope he doesn't charge us for repairs.

The girls seem to have mostly run out of energy. Their clothes were tattered, showing brief yet tantalizing glimpses of skin. Their breaths were ragged from effort, but their eyes still glowed with fierce determination. To witness the strength of their feelings for me like this, I feel flattered.

"Huff. Ladies, how about we end this already? It'd be rude to keep Mr. Tooru waiting," Sophia smiled sweetly. Even now, her image of a pure, gentle Saintess did not break. It was pretty admirable.

"I guess this is something we can all agree on." Princess Victoria spit out a mouthful of blood and readied her sword.

"...I won't give him up." Alicia glowered coldly at her rivals, first clenched tightly until her knuckles turned white on her magic tome.

"Darling… the one Darling will be with is me!" Diana said emotionally, throwing her face into her hands.

"Everyone…" My heart felt so full and fuzzy at this moment. Knowing they cared so much about me, cherished me to this extent… As I thought, I couldn't choose just one. Memories of our time came rushing back to me.

Holding Victoria's hand for the first time when I had a huge setback. I couldn't protect them, but my power surges and I got revenge. I was feeling blank, hopeless, but she saved me. She desperately held onto my hand with her own that was trembling. "Let's definitely defeat the Demon King and then go back to our kingdom. Our home!" I could only nod in gratitude.

Sophia gazed distantly at the blue sky, the view on top of the holy tower. Then, she turned towards me with a brilliant smile, blinding me with the beautiful sight. "Ufufu. For all my life, I've dedicated myself to the god of light. I always thought it was useless to wish for anything more, but you've shown me hope. I know we still have the mission to defeat the Demon King and that that day is yet far off… but I hope when the time comes, you will say 'yes.'"

Stargazing with Alicia on a lonely night. She confided in me about the time when she lost her family. I promised I would do whatever in my power to help restore her clan. Alicia then quietly leaned on my shoulder, saying, "...it's a promise."

Diana… Although she honestly sucked at cooking, would always try to feed me things she made, saying it was her expression of love. I suffered getting them down, but I ate every last bite. If it was her expression of love, then I wanted to accept all of it.

"Girls…" I stepped forward, emotional. "As I thought, I can't–"

"Because Darling is… Darling is!! Ahhh! I can't hold back much longer!" Diana's fingers dragged along her face, revealing an infatuated blush. Her eyes were heated, her breathing was rough and there were torrents of sticky drool running down her mouth.

Hm? That doesn't sound right.

"Haaaaaaah!!!! Darling just looks SOOOOOO delicious! I can't wait to eat him up!"

Eat, like, in "that'' way, right? The sexual way, right? Right????

She shook her head left and right, eyes closed as if savoring her imagination.

"He doesn't have much muscle on him now, but his smell– it's so tantalizing! How would it feel like to bite into his flesh, rip it from the bone, drink in his fragrant juices, all the while feeding on his feelings of fear and betrayal! How sweet would the body of an otherworlder taste?? Ah, I can't! My stomach is growling just thinking about it!"

Ehhhhhh!!?????

As if unable to stand, Alicia also stepped into the fray.

"You can't! Tooru promised… to help me rebuild my clan! Otherworld hero as materials… is the best!"

"What, that clan of crazy magicians who practiced forbidden homunculus magic and experimented on humans? Good riddance! To use such a fragrant meal as ingredients for something you can't even eat later! Ridiculous!"

Homunculus… Human experimentation!? S-scary!

"Not forbidden…! Kingdom approved research!"

"You want to use Sir Tooru as the base for a homunculus!? Out of the question!"

Finally, my savior…?

"The hero is MUCH too dangerous to be kept unsupervised! For the sake of the kingdom, we must bring him back and shackle him down! To use him as a one-time good… think of the future, you short-sighted idiots!"

I silently looked towards Sophia with dead-looking eyes. My hopes are definitely not high.

"Ufufu, don't worry Mr. Tooru. I would never hurt you like that." She smiled gracefully, resting a hand on her cheek.

…Sophia!

"How could I damage the body of the soon-to-be mortal vessel of the great god of light? Ah, do not fear. You will still retain your ego! Just, you will be sharing your physical shell with the holy spirit. As a hero, your body is much more durable than others! I know you can handle it."

…I knew it. I definitely wasn't fooled for a moment. Definitely! *Sniffle*

"Is there a greater honor than to dedicate your entire being to our almighty and divine savior!? No, there is not! Surely you understand, Mr. Tooru! All you have to do is say yes, and I will smite down these heretical harlots that dare covet the body promised to god!" Sophia once again turned towards her rivals, the golden metal ornament at the top of her staff glowing again with a powerful sparkling light.

"God or whatever, I'm not letting anyone get a piece of Darling! He's MY meal!" Diana snarled, eyes turning completely black and blackened veins popped up against her pale skin, giving her a ghastly look.

"..." Alicia didn't say anything, just prepared more magic circles and golems (are those really just made out of clay?) on standby and ready to fight.

"Hmph. I always knew the church and my kingdom could never get along. First thing I'm doing when I get back is a big purge of all your filthy believers!" Red scales appeared in various places on Victoria's body and her eyes changed to be more lizard-like. Smoke began rising from her position as the place where her feet touched the ground grew bright red like molten rock.

"Um, girls, I don't think–"

The air was thick with tension. Everyone looked at each other, wary that if they were to look away for one moment, the others would get the jump on them.

"Huuuuu… it looks like all of us really only have the energy for one last big attack. What say you?"

"Ufufu. Very well. But know the futile struggles of a human would never be enough to win against the might of god."

"God shmod. Nobody's stealing my delicious morsel away from me."

"..."

A breath. A finger twitch. A drop of sweat. No one knew what would spur the final attack that would decide once and for all. Who would gain the right of taking Tooru home? Who would win this epic battle, and return with the priz–

"Girls!!"

""""WHAT!""""

All the girls turned towards him in anger. This was an important battle! They didn't have time to deal with his stupid ramblings– or even worse, feelings, right now.

"Don't I get a say in what I want to do?"

The girls looked at each other cautiously. Honestly, they were all pretty worn out. If they could avoid fighting here, then that would be best. They may have forgotten at the moment, but they were still in front of the Demon King who they had set out to kill. If Tooru was willing to go with them, then they could just leave the other three girls as a distraction and get away with their prize. A willing captive was always better than an unwilling captive.

The girls sent each other an almost telepathic truce offer and nodded at the same time, lowering their weapons and approaching Tooru.

"Darling~ Don't you want to be with me forever and ever! Don't worry, I can always resurrect your spirit and play with you any time!"

"Keh. As if any sane person would want to be eaten alive. That's why demons are…"

"Huh? I don't think I've ever seen that expression on your face, Sophia…"

"Cough cough. I mean, ohoho, ho. Would it not be best to come with me, Mr. Tooru? You were summoned as a hero because of your strong sense of justice and morality, were you not? Then, what better calling is there than a divine mission? Come with me, and you will be written down on the hearts of every believer as a divine hero!"

"Worthless. You mean for him to sacrifice himself meaninglessly for people he doesn't even know? Come with me, Sir Tooru. Though you will certainly be used by our kingdom, we won't mistreat you. Money, fame, power and beauties… they can all be yours. Even myself, if you'd like. I've seen the way you look at me sometimes. Although my body may be lacking, but if you were to wish for it, then I…"

"...you promised."

Yep, every one of these options suck.

To be fair, Victoria's does sound the best out of all of them, but it just sounds like I'll be used as a living weapon and deterrent for the rest of my life. Didn't she say some crazy like wiping out the church and their believers earlier too? Uwah, it would suck to slaughter innocents. Putting off my choice… wouldn't work. Their gazes hurt! Ouch?

Isn't there some other choice I could choose?

"My lord! My lord! Please say 'ahhh' and open your mouth wide!"

*Crunch crunch*

"My lord, how is this 'popped-corn' dish enjoyed by the humans? Does it suit your palate?"

"Mmm, it is not bad. It truly is pleasing to eat when watching something amusing."

"My lord! I am glad it pleases you!"

I glared at the peanut gallery who were having fun at my expense. "Is it that entertaining to watch me suffer?"

The Demon King grinned, commenting, "It is not bad. It is fun to watch you squirm. I look forward to seeing how you escape from your predicament."

You are reading story My Isekai harem wouldn’t stop fighting over me so I decided to get together with the Demon King♂ instead at novel35.com

That bastard. Eating popcorn without a care while I'm at the worst turning point of my life. Ah, isn't there some way I can be reversed summoned? Like, right now? No? Haaa, I thought not.

Instead, I turned the cogs in my brain. Taking any of their offers… would be stupid. Suicidal, in some. That meant the only real option I had was to find a different way out.

Should I make a run for it? But, these girls are pretty powerful. One on one, I could easily overpower them. But if all five were to work together to try and capture me, I would definitely lose. Not to mention if they somehow awaken a sense of camaraderie and decide to split me into four somehow. Egh, I don't even want to think about it.

Then, the only option left is…

I looked over to the Demon King and smiled. He had no idea what was coming.

"Though I am honored to be so, uh, coveted, between the four of you, it's a shame that I must inform you…" I looked each one in the eye for good measure before continuing. "I've actually promised myself to someone else already!"

""""...hah?""""

Hoho? I wonder where you are going with this, little hero, the Demon King thought to himself as he watched on amusedly.

I put on the fakest pitiful and regretful expression I could and dabbed at fake tears. "Yes. I'm truly, terribly, abhorrently sorry, girls, but I can't go with any of you."

"...explain." Victoria demanded in the lowest, coldest pitch I've heard from her yet. Her eyes were filled with a simmering rage and I could tell her hand was itching to draw her great sword and put it against my throat. I held in a chill while I regretted ever thinking these girls liked me. I was too into my isekai-honeymoon mode to look too closely at my surroundings, I guess.

I took a deep breath. Now's the time to act for my life. I did my best to emulate a bashful girl, wriggling to and fro and playing with my hair. What I could reach of it anyways. It wasn't too long.

"In fact, as you were all fighting, I've been having a deep and meaningful conversation with lord Demon King over here. Each word he spoke was so profound, so piercing that it felt like he could see right through to my truest self. The more we talked and the more I gazed at his devilishly and noble features, I… couldn't hold myself back anymore. I've fallen in love!"

""""....""""

The girls are looking at me with disgusted, dead fish eyes. They can tell I'm lying, but the lie is so ridiculous they are finding it hard to react. Sorry, I'm not an actor! And you too, Demon King! I know you're laughing, your shoulders are shaking! If you want to laugh then just laugh!

"My lord," Raimon whispered telepathically to the Demon King. "This human is sure being impudent. Shall I kill him?"

The Demon King wiped a tear from his eye as he collected his breathing, and replied. "No, play along. I'd like to see what he does next."

"...As you wish, my lord. Your word is my command." Raimon put away the dagger he had hidden in his clothes and reigned in his murderous expression, but only a little.

Tooru's one man stage play continued. He turned dramatically towards the Demon King and approached, kneeling at his throne and grabbing onto his hands. Luckily, the Demon King didn't pull away and let Tooru do as he wished.

"My lord! What you said earlier about demons and lifelong pairings has moved my heart, and I have learned the error of my ways! Before I met you, I was naive and foolish. But now that I've met you, I can think of no greater joy than to serve you by your side for the rest of my life! I beg of you, please grant me this honor!"

My plans consist of this: dump the girls and defect to the Demon King's side to use him as a shield. Of course, I don't expect the Demon King to actually accept me. Worst case scenario, he swiftly kills me out of anger (still better than being eaten or being a human experiment). In the low low chance he accepts, the Demon King might protect me, and I can flee while they're duking it out. If not, if I anger the girls enough to make them consider fighting the Demon King for me, then it's still mission success. With what the girls want to do to me, they can't kill me yet. Well, maybe Diana can but let's hope she doesn't want to dine and dash.

"This is ridiculous. Tooru–" Victoria angrily approached the throne, and I got ready to move aside in case she decided to attack. If her attack hits the Demon King, then they'd have to fight, right? Lucky!

However, someone moved a step quicker than all of us.

"Whoa!"

I was startled as the Demon King stood up all of a sudden, still holding my hands. Victoria halted her previous action, wary of the Demon King who had stood up for the first time since we entered the room.

"Um, Demon King?" I asked, uneasily. The Demon King just looked down at me with an ominous smile, much like the one when he was talking about pairings before.

"So, you have fallen in love with me, you say?"

"Uh, yes." With your rhetoric, anyway. That's what I meant. Not romantically! Not, romantically. He wouldn't have such a misunderstanding, right? Hahaha.

"...very well." The Demon King pulled me up in one swift motion. Damn, he's strong. And tall! I'm about average height but I barely come up to his shoulders! What does he eat to get this tall??

"You and me…" The Demon King leaned in close to speak to me. His voice was low and husky, and his long red hair tickled my face. I couldn't help but be caught in the deep redness of his eyes that seemed to be getting warmer every passing second. "...let's get married."

"...fue?"

The one who let out that pathetic sound was definitely not me. DEFINITELY… not me.

"...Ridiculous!" Victoria unsheathed her great sword and pointed it at the Demon King. Well, technically "us" since I was still being held by him. Victoria continued in a chilly voice. "Tooru. Come here."

The proposal was still messing with my mind and I was drawing a complete blank. Did he really just propose to me? The Demon King? To the hero?? Who does that?? Plus we're both guys.

"Uh, um–" I tried desperately to remember how to say no. Wait, who should I say no to first, Victoria or the Demon King?? But I was interrupted by a low voice spoken next to my ear as the Demon King turned me around (so I was facing the girls) and held me close from behind.

"Don't go. You're mine now, aren't you?" The Demon King smiled sweetly. This guy was definitely enjoying the chaos! Bastard!

"Enough of this sham!" Victoria roared with frustration. "I know you're straight, Tooru! You really didn't think I noticed when you'd try to peek into the girls' area when we went bathing!"

"Did you, my love?" The Demon King queried innocently, making my guilt and defensiveness flare up.

"I didn't!! …Ok, maybe I did!" No point in telling a lie no one would believe. "But I, uh, I swing both ways!" Whatever! Now that I'm on this bandwagon I might as well ride it out!

Victoria glowered, sending a dangerous gaze this way. "Tooru… if you won't come obediently, then I'll make you come!"

"Y-you can't make me! We're in love!" At this point I have no idea what is coming out of my mouth.

"Tooru, you fat-kidneyed fopdoodle! Everyone knows you're a big fat liar and if you don't get your stinky little arse over here RIGHT now, I'm going to–"

Everyone except Victoria had a collective silent gasp as they watched what unfolded next. The Demon King, tall as he was, had to bend over to reach as he tilted my head up and behind towards him. Next thing I knew, there was a soft, warm, wet sensation on my lips and I just took it, shocked into freezing.

…Holy shit, is this a kiss? I'm kissing the Demon King right now? So, this is what a kiss feels like… NOT!

"Hey, wait–" I gasped as he parted for but a second from my face.

"Just shut up and accept it," he said, tightening his hold on me before dipping in once more.

Bastard! Just wait until– waitwaitwaitwhatthehellis– ahhh!!!!!

I struggled helplessly in his tight embrace as something unbelievably hot and slimy snaked its way into my open mouth. This fucker! Should I just bite his tongue off!? I opened my mouth wider to protest, but he seemed to take it as an invitation to prod deeper. The thick tongue explored every inch. The sides of my cheeks, the back of my throat, behind my teeth, the roof of my mouth. The more he explored, the more power that left me to resist him. In its place, a strange, tingling heat was rising in my body, up my arms and to the places where he touched me. It wasn't until I felt lightheaded and my mouth was all slimy that he pulled away, giving one last peck before breaking completely. He brought his fingers to my nose and pinched it lightly with a light smile tinged with helplessness.

"Breathe."

HSSSSSSSSSSSS, HAAAAAAAA–

I gulped in deep breaths repeatedly, welcoming the oxygen my lungs so badly missed. My face was burning and I didn't have the courage to look at the girls, who were probably ogling me, so I buried my face deeper into his muscular, bare chest. Fuck, why isn't this guy wearing proper clothes. Who the hell is in charge of your wardrobe!? I'd like to speak to the manager!

"To– you– and him– kiss!?!?!!" I could hear Victoria's incredulous screeching so I wanted to turn to her to look, but the Demon King just pushed me deeper into his man boobs.

"It upsets me when you call my wife with such derogatory names. I believe you've overstayed your welcome. Leave now, while I'm still being generous."

"...I'm the wife?" I mumbled to myself quietly against his skin.

"Of course. Did you think you were the husband?" The Demon King chuckled lowly, making his chest rumble.

"...can't we both be husbands?" I asked after a pause. Ah, I really don't know what I'm saying anymore.

The Demon King laughed again, and I could feel the mirth in his reply. "I'll think about it."

"I… I can't believe… Tooru!" Victoria called out. When I tried looking toward her this time, the Demon King didn't stop me. Unlike before, Victoria was visibly shaken. Her sword arm dropped and was unsteady, trembling slightly. Her face held a blush, but her eyes were swimming almost in unbridled tears. Maybe somewhere in her heart, she actually did like me? But, it's too late now.

"...this is how it is." So please give up on me.

"I… I… sniff." Victoria's face crumpled a bit and she swiftly turned around. It took a while before she spoke up again, her voice trembling just the slightest amount. "...be happy."

That was the last thing she said before marching out the throne room with a swift, rhythmic pace. The other three, however, had been watching with interest, but decided it was time to get back to business once the show was over.

"...Demon King, even if it's you, I won't give up my morsel." Diana's claws slid out like blades and began dripping a black liquid. Out of the other two, she looked a bit scared, but determined to have me nonetheless.

"Promises, broken. You filthy liar." The spirits surrounding Alicia flared up to a bright blaze, ready to support their beloved child.

"Hoho. To think even the Demon King covets the body of the divine vessel… Well, it can't be helped. We must work together for the time being to reclaim the holy body. We can decide what to do with him after that. Who knows? Perhaps the lord will be benevolent and allow you each a limb or two?" Sophia smiled without smiling, the light shining on her staff looking mighty ominous. She's crazy, a psycho!

"Well, I gave you a chance." The Demon King grinned, showing off rows of white, sharp looking teeth. Huh, how come I didn't notice that before? The Demon King snapped his fingers, and Raimon instantly fell to a knee in deference.

"Your servant, Raimon is here to serve, my lord. What do you require of me?"

"Escort these intruders out." The Demon King said lazily while rubbing the top of my head. Hey stop it, it tickles. "Whether they be missing a few parts or sent out in body bags, it doesn't matter."

"Understood. Raimon lives to serve." The imp demon said, as the shadows began to dim in the once well lit room and Raimon's shadow began to grow and deepen in color with every passing second. The girls, who I once considered companions, clutched onto their gear tighter and resolved themselves for a hard battle.

Meanwhile, the Demon King was steering me out of the room and deeper into the castle where we had not explored yet.

"Mmm, where are we going?" I asked uneasily.

"To the bathroom, to give you a bath. You're filthy." The Demon King replied simply, steadily pushing me away from the shadowy battle that was about to occur. "What? Is there something else on your mind?"

"Hmm… Try not to be too rough on them. If you can," I said hesitantly.

"You're kind. You realize they tried to hurt you?"

"Yes, but… They were my companions for a while. It's my last consideration."

"If that's what you wish for, then it'll be done. Raimon." The Demon King snapped once again. This time, Raimon did not answer so I'm not sure he got the order, but I'll try and believe in him this once.

"Darling!"

"Tooru…"

"Tooru… I will never let you go!"

I turned and looked at them one last time before saying, "Goodbye."

Then, the doors shut behind me.

And then they lived happily ever aft--

"Wait a minute, did you say bath?"

"Indeed."

"W-w-why do I need a bath! I don't smell that bad!"

"You currently smell like those women. I find it unpleasant. If I am to possess something, then I will possess ALL of it. Simple as that."

"I'm not a possession!"

"Did you forget? Or, should I remind you?"

It took only a second for the world to shift. Then, I suddenly had my back to the wall, trapped in-between his arms with nowhere to escape as he hovered over me. Ohhh, the high level technique; the kabedon! To think I would experience it in real life! I didn't know I would be on the receiving end though…

I clammed up due to the close proximity. Seriously, this guy has no sense of personal space. Is he a foreigner? Well, technically he is a foreigner. Or rather, I am the foreigner in another world. Ah, I want to escape reality too bad my brain keeps speaking nonsense. His hair once again tickled my face as he leaned close, and I did everything I could to avoid his eyes.

"...Wife," he whispered close to my ear.

"Why can't we both be husbands?" I snapped a little, but was still very timid.

"So, you admit we're engaged."

"That's… debatable." I felt a firm hand grab my chin and force me to face him directly, staring straight into his eyes.

"What, now that I'm no longer useful you no longer need me? You have gall to throw away the Demon King, just like a wet tissue."

"Urk, no, that's…" Ahhh, the guilt is crushing me!

"Tooru."

This is the first time he's said my name, holy shit. I squeezed my eyes shut at the unfamiliar palpitations going crazy in my chest. Fuck, why am I feeling this way towards a guy!

I felt something soft graze my lips and realized he was kissing me again. Are kisses supposed to feel this good!? What the hell! Why can't I push him away, damn it all!

"Tooru." This time, his voice held a demand. An order. I cautiously opened my eyes and met his. In the dark red of his eyes, there seemed to be a fire smoldering that wasn't there before.

"Like I said, if I set out to possess something, then I will possess ALL of it. Without fail."

"...are you sure about that?" I argued quietly. He returned my question with a sly smile.

"You should have run away when you had the chance." The Demon King leaned in, once again capturing my lips in his.

Perhaps, in a hurry to escape the traps of my crazy female companions, I accidentally fell into the most dangerous trap of them all. When he was satisfied, he finally leaned out of my personal space, but still had his arms trapping me to the wall.

"...can we start as friends?"

"Friends? I think we're a little past that."

"...then dating. For now." I pouted as he rubbed by head, mussing up my hair.

"I'll think about it." He stopped his assault on my hair and held out his hand. "Firstly, the bath. Then we can talk."

"...I'll just say this ahead of time, I can take a bath by myself."

"Of course you can, you're a grown adult. If you couldn't, then I'd be worried about your capabilities."

"Oi."

"Or, what? Were you expecting something to happen?"

I said it exactly because I didn't want anything to happen. I glowered at his outstretched hand with hesitance. It irks me to no end that my first kiss was with this guy, and I didn't even hate it. Even my sweet honeymoon harem life was all going up in smoke because of him, but I guess with my companions from earlier, it was for the best.

"Are you not going to take my hand?" The Demon King said, asking about his offered hand.

"What if I don't want to?" I replied in the same tone, half serious and half curious how he would react.

"Hmm. This castle is filled with traps, meant to keep little rats outside the walls. However, as the master of this castle, they don't work against me. But if you're willing to experience them yourself, then…" He rubbed his face, faking a contemplative look and was about to withdraw his outstretched hand. Naturally, I didn't want to experience any traps if I didn't have to, so I reluctantly, RELUCTANTLY, grabbed onto it before he could take it away.

"...Let's go, Demon King!"

The Demon King chuckled into his free hand before gripping mine a little tighter and setting off. It was not long before he spoke up again, however.

"Sigurd."

"What?"

"Sigurd. As a special allowance, I will let you call me by name."

…I definitely wasn't dazzled by his smile right now. This sound rushing into my ears definitely isn't my heart beating, and it's DEFINITELY not for any special reason!! It's a congenital defect, a defect!!

"--Let's go, Sigurd!"

"Yes, Tooru."
