Chapter 55: 54 – Yufi and Leon, face to face

After my lovey dovey sex with Nana, she has joined my harem alongside Lu-chan and Iris. We sneaked out as soon as possible from the city, found a ship, and paid our way to the demon continent. Of course, I had to let people know that Nana is safe. The last thing I wanted is for Aeonia to declare war on every country in existence because of my kidnapping. But I made sure that they would only get my letter 3 days after our departure.

 

 It took us roughly 1 week to get to the demon continent. Unlike Luvelia continent, although the official name is Kalendae, people just call it the demon continent. Even in the game, it was simply referred to as the demon continent.

 

And right now… we are traveling across a dirt path.

“Where did you say we were going again, Lu-chan?”

“To Asura Kingdom. My former town. We can lay low for a while there.”

I should mention that if previously Lu-chan was in human form, now she is in demon form and she cast her magic on me and Nana. So all 4 of us look like demons now.

Occasionally thieves who can't read the mood come out and tell us to leave our money and go, or say other things of similar nature, but my fist wakes them up and they run away in shame. I won’t say they are weak. Demons are stronger than humans. But so far… if average humans are around level 10-30 I would say that demons are around 25-60 roughly. Still not a match for me.

 

It seemed like at first Lu-chan was just going to go with slaughtering them all, but after listening to the situation, it seems most of them were just troubled being unable to eat, so for the time being we let them go.

 

Although,this place has 10x as many monsters as Aeonia. The books and Lu-chan’s intel were spot on. This sure is a dangerous  place.

The Red Dragon Mountain range is a very long mountain range that covers the demon continent. The mountain range is called like that because there are Red Dragons inhabiting it.

 

They could also be called an absolute strength. What is worth a special mention is their detection ability. They'll absolutely never overlook a living organism that enters their territory.

 

Absolutely.

 

They won't even let a living being the size of a dog pass by, no matter how strong of a monster it is, if it enters into the territory of the Red Dragons, the swarm will eat it without even leaving a bone behind. After living with a dragon myself… there’s no way I would ignore Olivia’s warnings.

Of course, that’s why we are taking this snowy route right now. A valley with just a single main road continuing down it. After passing by this place we should reach Asura Kingdom. Lu-chan also cast a golden dome around us to keep us warm. What can I say. My skimpy clothes and winter don’t mix.

On the opposite side of the road.

 

Silver hair, beard and mustache, golden eyes, no particular equipment, wearing a simple white coat made out of some kind of fur. Neither riding on a horse, nor riding on a carriage, just walking along. It was a man.

 

Going from my impression it was at most, "A guy with a bad look in his eyes." But… my face went rather pale. This guy… there is no way I wouldn’t recognize him. I saw his design in the game many times. The 1st Divine General. Leon.

Each step closer the man took, that expression became even more severe, while holding onto the handle of her sword with enough strength that it had become pure white.

“Not answering? What is an odd party doing in a place like this?”

 

The man casually approached us.

 

“I beg your pardon. You just startled us. We are mercenaries headed towards Asura Kingdom in look for work.”

“That so? That still doesn’t explain why you, a human, and an elf are posing as demons? Some sort of political scheme? Are you deceiving those two?”

“...we … are fully aware. Yufi… and Nana… are our friends…”

“Friends? Humans and demons friends? Impossible.”

“It’s the truth, sir. We could ask you the same thing. What’s a human like you doing here?”

“Fair enough I guess. It doesn’t matter to me.”

Nice work, Nana! We dodged a bullet with that one.

“Stand aside. I want to pass. My business is not with you.”

“Right away. Thank you for your consideration, Leon-sama.”

“!?”

In the next moment a blur. I couldn’t follow his movements at all. Cold sweat ran across my face. My instincts were screaming at me…
Run! Run away! Seriously run away!

I forced Aetherius in front of me and in the next second a loud metalic bang was heard. When I realized what happened, Leon’s fist collided with my sword.

“Hou? You blocked it? Perhaps my business is with you after all. We have never met before, yet… you know my name. A human traveling with demons… the coincidence is too big. And you have the smell of a dragon on you. I have decided. I will kill you, unknown woman.”

Shit! This is the worst possible scenario ever. Mina was one thing, but this guy… is a monster. My chances of winning against someone like this… are zero. I can’t let my girls get hurt. I have to find a way to distract him.

 

"Now, let's see you despair."

 

This fucker just snapped his fingers. It felt like a an invisible dome just expanded from that snap.

 

"What?"(Nana)

 

"No way. My power is…"(Luvia)

 

"...gone…"(Iris)

 

What?

 

"Hmm? That's weird. You are the only one unaffected by my sealing powers."(Leon)

Sealing? Crap!

“Listen, girls! This is an order! Run away! Scatter. We’ll regroup later. This isn’t someone we can fight! Go! I'll buy some time.”

“But Yufi…”

“Ahh… my body… is moving on it’s own…”

Forced by the slave seal all my girls make a run for it in different directions.

“What a foolish decision. You might have lasted a minute if you all stayed together. Yet, that is another proof of heresy. I sensed magic from you. Demons would never listen to a human. You are probably the same human in Cornelia’s report.”

“Don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about, but I don’t intend to die here. Come. I’ll show you that I can at least entertain you a little.”

“Hmph. Try your best. Just know. That once I have a goal in  mind… There’s nothing you can do. Your death is imminent.”

Unlike Mina, this guy is serious. One wrong move and it’s game over. I need to use all my skills and force my limits here. I have to make a diversion and run for it. Here goes nothing…
