Chapter 7: Chapter 07: Tournament

After the announcement, we had dinner and went to bed.

Two rooms were prepared for us.

I slept in a very stinky and crowded room with eleven other boys.

While Anko slept in a room that smelled like flowers with plenty of space to roll around with three other girls.

As life can sometimes be unfair, I had no choice but to sleep with a nose clip the whole night.

The next morning we had a brief breakfast and then the tournament started. It was watched by Minato, Hirzuen, Shikaku, Choza, Inoichi and some other random Jonins and Chunins.

Then Shikaku stepped forward and said,

"Welcome, the last part of the Chunin exam is about to begin. You will have two battles a day and the matches will be randomly chosen.

I will be the referee and I will stop the match if I think it's necessary. Show us what you got in you and you will be rewarded.

And now let's begin!"

Above Shikaku was a big screen and names started spinning until they stopped.

"First match is Iwashi Tatami vs Lamena Honar"

It looks like Iwashi will be facing off against a random female Genin I know nothing about.

"Begin!"

At this call Iwashi drew a Kunai and threw it at her, so she jumped up to avoid it.

But in the next moment he was under here and used some hand signs to summon something like a small tornado that spun her around like crazy.

As his jutsu was completed, she fell to the ground unconscious. It seems like she was a medic in the team and wasn't really that skilled at fighting.

In the next two matches, Hoheto and Tokuma Hyuuga won by closing the chakra points of their opponents. This was against an Uchiha and a Hyuuga I had never talked to or seen before the exam.

After that, the Uchiha matches began.

Inabi Uchiha fought a female Hyuuga which he beat with Genjutsu and won even without touching her.

While Yashiro beat his team mate a female Uchiha girl, while using Taijutsu.

Even when they both lost to Itachi, they did not appear to be that weak, because they already had their Sharingan.

The next round was Ebisu against a random Genin. He won by spamming Kunais at him and then blasting him with a fireball.

While Ebisu may appear arrogant, his fighting style is not bad at all, against normal Genins that is.

Next was Anko against an Uchiha. She bound him with some snakes and then crushed him with them until he was unconscious.

Even though it was relatively easy for her, the boy didn't yet have the Sharingan, so it could be different if she were to face the other Uchiha's.

"Last match of the first round, Aiko Iyashi vs Yasubi Hihei"

I jumped down from the Stand every Genin was at and my opponent jumped after me and walked directly opposite of me.

There was nothing special about him except for the flask on his belt. Which seems to be a part of his fighting style.

"Begin!"

I created a ROOM around us that surprised everyone, except those who knew me of course. Yasubi was first frightened, but then he collected himself and opened his flask and emptied the water on the ground, creating a small puddle under him.

Then he used some hand signs and summoned tentacles out of the water which then swirled around him.

I watched him do his thing to see if he could surprise me. However, it seemed all he could do was use his tentacles to attack people while they also protected him a bit.

So to end this quickly I used Shambles to switch me with the flask he threw to the ground after he used it.

After this I laid a hand on the puddle under him and used Counter Shock to taser him. The match ended with a small scream from him.

I could see Minato smile at my win, while Hiruzen watched me critically.

"The winner is Aiko Iyashi! That concludes the first round. The next round starts in eight hours. Recover and prepare yourself."

While some people from the medical corps took Yasubi away, I deactivated my ROOM and jumped back to the Stand.

Anko ran up to me and said, "Wow I know that you can do some special stuff but using Ninjutsu without hand signs is really amazing."

"Thank you but your snakes are also amazing. I'm pretty sure the next matches should be no problem for you."

In response, she smiles and says, "Thank you, and I hope I can also fight you later."

"Do your best" I say while patting her head and walking away.

She puffs up her cheeks and says "Don't do that! I'm not a baby!".

But I only wave at her and continue to walk away.

In the next eight hours I did nothing but take a nap and polish my sword a bit and then returned to the Stand to watch the next battle.

The first battle was Iwashi vs Tokuma, which Iwashi unexpectedly won.

The match ended thanks to a paper bomb that he threw with some Kunais. Even when Tokuma could easily evade the Kunais, he was unaware of the paper bomb and after it exploded the match was over.

Iwashi seems to be a clever fighter who always tries to surprise his adversaries.

The next match was Hoheto against Ebisu.

Ebisu tried the same trick as Iwashi but failed. When the paper bomb detonated, Hoheto used Hakkesho Kaiten, with which he created a shield while spinning around and emitting chakra.

Then Ebisu spit out a fireball, but Hoheto shot compressed air out of his palm and destroyed the fireball and hit Ebisu behind it. This made him crash to the ground.

Shikaku ended the match after Ebisu stood up and caught up blood. It looks like the attack managed to hit a vital point.

Continuing the fight would endanger his life, so it was the right decision.

I was very surprised that Ebisu even when hit by something like that, tried to continue to fight and not just give up.

The next match was Inabi against Anko.

The match started and Anko and the Uchiha spit some Katon jutsus at each other. Anko couldn't really get the upper hand in this Uchiha specialty.

As another clash of jutsus blocked the view, she threw a few Senbons at him. He could evade some fast enough but got hit by one.

Anko then sent out some snakes to hunt him.

He killed and evaded all of them because they were not fast enough for his Sharingan.

But when he tried to attack her, he fell to his knees and couldn't move anymore.

"Anko Mitarashi is the winner. Inabi can't continue the fight."

Afterwards, the medical-nin took him away and treated him.

When Anko came back she looked like she wanted to get praised.

"Well done it was clever to put poison on your Senbons." I said while giving her a thumbs up.

Upon hearing my praise, she shows off her biceps and laughs like a crazy person.

I could only watch her and laugh dryly.

"Next match Aiko Iyashi versus Yashiro Uchiha."

"It seems like it's my turn."

I jump down and face my opponent.

"Begin"

Yashiro activated his Sharingan and drew his Kunai, while I drew my Katana and activated my ROOM.

To bring him down from his high horse, I wanted to end it quickly.

I throw my Katana at him and use Takt to control it. At first, he evaded it by jumping to the side, but I changed the direction of my Katana midway and it was now about to strike him.

He couldn't avoid it since he was already in the air, so he had no choice but to close his eyes and wait for the pain.

Then he falls on the ground but no pain comes.

"The match is over and the winner is Aiko Iyashi "

When Yashiro opened his eyes the Katana was directly in front of him, pointing with its tip at him.

As I walked away, I used Takt to bring my Katana back and let it slide into the sheath by itself in Trunks style.

While the Uchiha watched me with hateful eyes.

I hoped to fight Hoheto in the next round since I wanted to see if I could cut his shield or not since it was made of chakra.

If not, then the Hyuuga could become my weak point in the future or at least until I learn how to cut through chakra.

I went to grab a snack while thinking about this.
