As you'd expect from this world, the short week of fun came to an end in an instant, and now it's exam time.

It's almost suffocating to sit in this class. The deep sighs, the dim lighting due to the curtains being closed, and the terrified expressions. Just breathing in the air makes me feel heavier.

Because of all the other students, I'm getting nervous, both my heart rate and breathing are rising.

The teacher walks around the room, passing out papers, beginning at the front and working his way through the class until the paper is placed on my desk.

He takes his time returning to his desk, looks around the classroom, and finally gives us the green light.

"You may now begin."

I swallow and look down at my paper, pick up my pencil and start.

---------------

"Ah~! Finally finished that!"

"Good work, Haruka. Here, my treat." He throws me a bottle of juice from the vending machine.

"Huh? Thanks!" I catch it and look at it- It's orange juice. "Oh~ Yahoo~ My fav!"

He takes a seat next to me on the bench, right next to the vending machine.

"Ah~ Drinking orange juice under the summer breeze is the best," I turn to him. "Don't you... think...? Eh?"

"What?" He looks at my eyes and then follows it, making him glance at his drink. "Got a problem?"

"Uh, no... not really? But why tomato out of all the other things in there?"

"Why? I mean, it's good for you and plus, you gotta change things up sometimes." I watch him as he drinks his peculiar juice. "Anyways, how do you think you did?-"

"Anyways, how is your drink?" I purposefully change the subject.

"It's alright. What about your tests?"

"Ahhhhh~ I don't know!" I lean back on my hands. "I'm happy I studied like my life depended on it, that's for sure! What about you?"

"Meh, the usual. Wasn't that hardest thing ever." He shrugs, smugly. A sudden urge pops up.

"May I punch your face?" I ask.

"M-my face? Uh, no thanks. I'm good." He throws his juice away into the trash can about 2 meters away from where we are like a basketball, getting it in and finally, leans back against the wall. "Well, I'd better return to class. I'll be studying a lil bit,"

"Study? Didn't you say it was easy?" I smirk.

"Is there anything wrong with putting in extra work? It'll always pay off. Anyways, you coming?"

"Nope, I'm going to stay out for a little longer."

"Okay, cya."

He waves and then walks away with his hands in his pocket.

"Ahhhhh~ I feel so mentally drained!" I don't want to go back to class.

I've only completed the tests from two of the subjects- I still have about 2-3 left. I want to stay out here and relax. I want a hug from Onee-chan! Without one, I might just wither away like a flower.

If you be a good boy and complete all your tests, I'll give you humungous hug, hehehe. I hear Onee-chan's voice echo in my ear, and I jump up looking around to see if she was somehow here. She isn't. How strange.

Alright, Haruka! You got this! For the sake of the hug!!! You can do this!!!

------------

They say hope and arrogance diminish in front of true power and fear. I am now understanding the meaning behind those words.

Not everything is easy-go-lucky. Pumping yourself up won't do you any good. It's just a waste of time and words.

The moment the bell rings, my throat clenches. It feels like time has slowed down.

The teacher enters and it only gets worse. After attendance... it finally starts.

There was another saying that I remember hearing about once while walking outside on one February evening. 'Nothing in this world goes as you expect it to or want it to.' -or something. Not much of a saying really, but it might as well be. It's really hitting home right now. Maybe too close for comfort though. I was actually feeling pretty alright about this test a little earlier, but... I guess when it finally comes down to it, I was just feeling a brief sense of calm.

With the words of 'Onee-chan's' resonating in my mind, I somehow finish the rest of the subjects and the day comes to an end.

I stretch my arms out as far as I could possibly do and let out a sigh. I feel so tired. My head hurts. I wonder how I'll do.

Teleportation would be really great right now. I don't feel like walking all the way home. In fact, I don't to even get up from this spot.

"Come on, get up Haruka."

"Huh..." I slowly raise my head to look at the location of the familiar voice. "Carry me~" I put my face against my desk.

"Huh?" He sighs. "Fine. Hurry up."

"I don't want to..."

He lets out a heavy sigh and places his hands on his hips. "Do you want to stay for longer than you have to?"

"No!" I jump up from my seat and grab my things, stuffing them in my bag. That sounds terrible!

"You still need me to carry you?"

"No!" I put my bag over my shoulder and stride out of the room. "You'd be way too slow." With me on your back, of course.

"What?!" He exclaims and runs out of the room to catch up with me. "Do you want to leave this place that bad?" He chuckles.

"Yeah, kinda."

Striding through the halls, we make it outside of the school. "Finally! freedom~!" I sigh, and taking in a deep breath, I smile, turn around the corner and slowly walk towards the direction of my house.

"So, Haruka, how was the rest of the tes-"

"Can you be quiet for a second, Souma-kun?"

" 'Kun?' " His eyebrow rises upwards, intrigued. His reaction is only natural as I don't normally call him any sort of honorifics.

"Well, whatever. How was the rest of your day-"

"I told you to be quiet! I don't want to talk about the tests!"

"I wasn't going to talk about them!"

"Huh? You weren't? Oh~ My bad, hahaha,"

He narrows his eyes and stares at me baffled. Sighing, he continues. "I was going to ask how the rest of your day went."

"Isn't that asking how the tests were?!"

He looks to the side, guilty. It's my turn to stare at him with disbelief.

"Whatever. It was pretty alright. I guess. You?"

"Heh, easy!"

"Okay, yeah see ya. Don't talk to me anymore." He comes to a stop along with me, and catching him off guard, I run ahead of him.

"Oi!" He yells from behind me. Heh, who's ahead of who now? "Why are running out of nowhere?"

"They say exercising is good for the mind." I break into a jog and pace my way through the sidewalk.

"I mean, sure it's good for you, but don't you have little stamina?"

I feel an arrow strike my chest. Surprisingly though, it doesn't hurt me... physically.

"Be quiet!" I speed up, almost bumping into someone but I somehow manage to avoid them. With a quick apology and bow, I continue my 'escape'.

"Ha... ha..."

"Told you. You should have listened to me." He shrugs. "By the way, you can start calling me Souma-sama. I'll allow you the honor of reciting my first name. Be grateful." He jokes.

"I'd... never call you using... sama..." I say, bent over, breathing heavily from all the running.

"Fine, whatever. Just sit down."

We sit at the bench behind us. I take in the chilly summer air and slowly, I control my breathing and soon, the rustling of the leaves takes over the sound of my breathing.

The noise of children running around synchronizes with the sound of the leaves. Didn't school just end? How are they already here?

"Hey, Haruka you good now?"

"Yeah."

"Then..." He uses his index finger to point at the playground ahead of us.

"Why not." I shrug.

I sit right at top of the slide, staring down at the ground below me. In all honesty, I prefer the sight of Onee-chan below me, but ah well.

A sudden push sends me flying down the slide... very slowly. "Weeeeeeeee..." I say, trying to sound amused. These things are truly only meant for little kids.

"My turn!" He yells and suddenly slides down the slide with a huge smile, like a kid. Smiling doesn'ts make him go any faster though.

His legs collide against my back, making me lunge forward in surprise.

"Ow?" I look back at him.

"Yeah, yeah, sorry,"

After a couple more minutes of playing around, we leave the park and continue our journey home.

"Why don't you finally tell me how to felt with the tests?"

"This again? Isn't it obvious from my reaction?"

"It is, but I'd rather hear it straight from your mouth." He grins. I can understand that way of thinking. I would much rather hear Onee-chan say she's feeling good even though I can tell by those adorable moans of hers.

"Sigh, fine. It was hard and annoying. Very annoying." I look at him. "Why don't you finally answer a question of mine, Souma. Sama."

"I thought you said you wouldn't call me with 'sama',"

"I said them separately. It doesn't count."

"So, what do you want to know?" He sighs, probably exhausted from my high intellect.

I think hard. I just said it cause why not. There isn't much I want to know about Souma. I pretty much know everything I should know. But since I have the chance I shouldn't waste it. Hmm~

"Who was that person-"

"Ah, that was fast. We already have to split up."

"Huh?" I realize he's right as I look around.

"See you in the summer, Haruka. Or rather, whenever we meet again." He holds out his fist and I hit my fist against his.

"Yeah."

Wait... what about my answer? Before I even realize it, he's already gone. How unfair.

I smile as I walk towards my house. I'm not smiling because of Souma, but because I can finally see Onee-chan! I might even get the hug I worked so hard for.

To my surprise, I'm greeted by an empty house.

Onee-chan pops her head out of the kitchen door suddenly, giving me a slight scare and says, "Welcome home, Haru!" With her usual soft but potent smile.

"I'm back~ Where is everyone else?"

"Mom and dad went out for a bit. They'll be back in a couple of minutes." She smirks. "Truly unfortunate."

"Unfortunate?" Confused, I tilt my head to the side. What's so unfortunate?

"That's right." She walks over to me and wraps her arms around me, pushing me into her breasts. Well, a little above her breasts to be exact. I move my head to look up at her. "We can't do any... 'ecchi' stuff since they'll be back soon."

I flush a light red and lower my head.

She lifts my chin and gives me a light kiss on my lips, moving back, her fingers connect behind her back. Just then, I hear the front door opening.

"I'm back, Ayak- Oh, welcome back, Haruka," Mom says, as she opens the door, carrying bags in her hand.

"Is something wrong you two?" Dad asks, popping out behind her, looking at us.

"Nope." Onee-chan turns to them. "Let me help with those."

"Uh, thanks Ayaka." Mom hands her the white plastic bag in her hand.

"Me too!" Dad hands me his bag which is surprisingly really light. "By the way dad... what about work?" He's been coming home early lately. He better not be skipping.

"Work? Heh, I finished everything and so I was allowed to leave early. Amazing, aren't I."

"Yes, very." I comment blandly.

We walk into the kitchen, our parents behind us, 'secretly' holding hands as if thinking we don't notice. And I say 'we' because I'm pretty sure Onee-chan has also noticed it. Putting the things away in the kitchen, we sit down on the coach, watching some random tv channel.

After the little show ends, I ask, "Where did you guys go?" With my back against the sofa.

"We went for a walk and then went for some light shopping." Dad says as he changes the channel to a news channel. "In any case, Haruka... How did the exams go?"

"They were fine," I say, giving them a faint smile. That took me by surprise.

I'm back in my room when suddenly, Onee-chan calls me.

When I open the door, I find her right beside it- on my left, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

"What did you really think of the test, Haru?" She smiles.

"W-what are you talking about?"

"Oh, come on. You can tell me the truth, after all..." She looks at me. "I am your older sister." Her grin is still there. "You don't need to worry about our parents. They won't hear you. Hopefully." 'Hopefully'?

"It was hard and stressful."

"I see. Good work." She backs off the wall and pats my head.

"What about you? How was it?"

"It went well."

"What did you really think? You can tell me the truth, after all, I am your younger brother." I say, smiling, repeating what she said but changing it to fit me.

"It went well. It wasn't that hard." I would expect nothing less from Onee-chan.

"Ah, right. By the way, Onee-chan, since I survived through the exams, can I get a hug?"

"Of course." She embraces me and pats my head. "Good work, Haru~" She looks down at me with a smirk. "I'll give an even better reward when you pass the exam."

I flush a little, already thinking about this 'better' reward, but still continue, "What if I don't?"

"You will. I know you will. So, just look forward to your reward, okay?"

"O-okay."

I wonder what this 'reward' will be... I think I already know.
