'I am nervous'. I know I was repeating this today very often but I could not help it. When finally I was getting over the anxiety of the first official meeting with Tsubaki's parents, another bomb blew out my mind.
It was the time when we arrived just at the villa entrance when Tsubaki received a text over her phone. It wouldn't have mattered if it was from anyone but it was from her father. The message content was something that made Tsubaki call for a detour as we drove away in an instant.
Now, the time for a big 'surprise'...
"Soooo...your whole family is waiting to meet me. And not as your boyfriend they know of me but as your fiancè. And now we can't even ditch the plan right?" Tsubaki nodded with an apologetic expression on her face. She held my hand in between her both palms as she spoke.
"I am so sorry Kazu kun. I didn't had a single idea that they would come so suddenly. " She bit her lips as she fell empty on words.
I felt bad for her. It wasnt her fault but she was feeling guilty like she did something bad.
'At least don't be so pathetic at a time like this...' Scolding myself I sighed and looked toward her, this time with a much calmer expression.
I held her hand in a tight grasp to get her attention before I spoke.
"Don't apologize Tsubaki. It's not like you asked them to come here on such short notice right? And my meeting with your family is something I had to face one day right? Then why not today? I mean, I am, a little nervous but just that. Even if I have to ask your parents or your whole family to let you be with me, I can say it without a single ounce of hesitation. So don't blame yourself, kay?" I said in a firm tone without letting my single word break in between.
Suddenly small pearl-like tears formed in her eyes as I spoke my mind. She nodded after a brief moment which made her tears fall slowly on her cheeks.
"Come here." I gestured her toward me and she immediately jumped over and landed on my lap. It was truly soothing physically as well as mentally to have this girl in my arms. I feel I could win a war all the time after embracing her.
After a few minutes, we both settled down with Tsubaki still on my lap. It was good that Mafuyu san left the car after stopping near a shopping mall, to give us some privacy. I looked toward Tsubaki who was blushing a little with a shy smile on her face.
"Well, the real change in plan is that I have to ask them not for a temporary relationship like dating, but your hand in marriage now I guess?" I scratched my cheek as I said. It was undoubtedly embarrassing for me to say it but according to the situation, it was the only option now.
Tsubaki, as I expected blushed so strong that I felt my sudden urge to pinch her cheeks rising before she hid her face over my chest. I chuckled a little as I saw her far more embarrassing state.
"It's okay. I will manage it. Whatever happens, we will face it together." I ran my finger through her delicate hair as I spoke in a soft whisper.
She hummed before we continued our journey toward our final goal.
'The meeting with parents....and co.'
________...________
'Kazu kun is dead nervous.' I looked at my husband as we got out of the car. He tried to conceal it but I knew he was still not prepared but the way he assured made me doubtless upon his determination. I mean, I never doubted him in the first place but knowing how serious was my Kazu kun made me utterly happy.
The time Mari met us and still didn't get the evidence of us faking our relationship, I knew she would do something. And yeah, I was right.
She was the only person who knew about our upcoming meeting with my parents because Kazu kun casually said it while chatting with Ichihara kun. And that vixen couldn't let this chance go at any cost.
'Just you wait Mari Williams. I will make you remember what your onee-chan can do.'
As we walked toward the door of the huge mansion, which I doesnt like much, I spotted several people standing there. Sure, my parents were there, but with them stood several tens of maids and servants. My eyes specifically pricked on maids. I knew my Kazu kun's fetish for maids, that was why I need to look out for them.
And my mother too...
Kazu kun halted for a second before I caught his hand to give him my power.
"Hang on Kazu kun."
__________...__________
"Yeah," I whispered before we stood before the group of people who had a smile on their faces.
"Welcome my children". Norihito san was the one who stepped forward before extending his hand, not for a shake but a hug. It was surprising how young this person look even though he has a daughter of the same age as mine. If someone calls him my big brother, I wouldn't be amazed, even a bit.
He wrapped his hand around mine and Tsubaki's either shoulder which made me a little startled but I waited for him to finish before I spoke.
" Good evening Norihito san. I hope you are doing well." Not sure whether it would be good to offer a handshake, I just said politely with a small smile on my face.
"Absolutely green as a teenager." He replied enthusiastically as he brought his hand over my shoulder. Suddenly an *ahem* came from the back, which made Norihito san flinch and back off as well, in an instant.

"I hope you guys are doing well, so for now let us go inside and talk." Maya san glared at the innocent Norihito san who agreed with her with a serious nod. She was wearing a loose white shirt with black jeans, which made her really young and complimenting with Norihito san. It wasn't a doubt that Tsubaki resembled Maya san except for her eyes which she inherited from Norihito san.
'Hmmm?' I felt a strong tug on my sleeve before I turned my head toward my left and noticed the complaining gaze of Tsubaki. Instantly, I realized that I went again and stared quite a long time at Maya san.
"Fufuf...dont glare like that Kayo, it isn't his fault." On her not-so-unintentional remark, I got glared from two sides now.
'Ah...help me.'
Soon everyone wordlessly walked inside. It was really astonishing to see how huge this place was. The garden in front of the mansion was so huge that I felt I could play baseball in it, if not for those artistic flowering plants and bushes. Not to talk about the house. I have never seen a house this large even in movies. It was horizontally reaching up to one and a half meters with at least four floors visible from the outside.
The design of the villa was like that of those European omes, with grayish marveling from outside and pointed crowns from several places. I felt I was entering a fort of a king or sort, which made my eyes shine like stars.
Soon we walked in through a massive-sized door that might crush a human if it was to fall over. The inside was just as I expected. Upon entering I spotted a huge stairway just some meters ahead, with lots of resting sofas in the living area. On my, either side was a huge gallery that had several paintings hung over the wall like there was an exhibition going on. Not to mention the exquisite chandeliers which made the whole atmosphere warm as well authentic.
I seriously never thought that Tsubaki would have been living in such a place before. I thought our apartment might feel huge for her as it was doing for me but...
'At this point, I won't be surprised if someone suddenly says that Tsubaki is a princess or sort...'
The servant and maids who had curious expressions stood inside in an arranged manner as they suddenly called in a high pitch.
""Young lady. Young master. We welcome you!""
I felt my body stiffening as they bowed in unison like they were programmed all along and waiting for the opportunity.
"Th-thank you for having me." I scratched the back of my head as I said in a low voice.
"Ah, they arrived!" I heard a distant voice inside the silent mansion when suddenly a figure walked from the gallery from left side. A woman probably in her early thirties with brunette hair and a charismatic aura around her, walked in front of us.
"Hey, Kazu kun. We finally got to meet. I am Kayo's aunt, Shiina. " She extended her hand which I took in the most natural way to not look awkward.
"Kazuya Sakahi. Nice to meet you too." With the best smile I could muster, I greeted back. After we let go of each other hands, she again began to speak.
"Hey, Kayo-chan. How have you been?" There was a brief hesitation in her voice, unlike the way she talked with me. Unsure of the situation I looked at Tsubaki.
" As you can see, we are doing great," Tsubaki answered in a flat tone before pulling my arm and walking forward completely ignoring Shiina san.
"Hey, Tsubaki. " Before I could stop her someone called for us again.
"Hey, Kazu boy. You are here." The one who said my name was a bulky man in his late thirties with a deep scar on his face. I knew him. He was the person who came to the convenience store a month ago. That dark day when the relationship between mine and Tsubaki took another fold.
"Good evening Nichiro san." I bowed a little with my words. Nichiro san laughed a little as he held my left shoulder.
"Don't be so formal. After all, we are a family now." I awkwardly nodded as the topic finally was brought up.
"I hope you are doing well Kayo chan." From his tone, I could easily deduce how doted Tsubaki is in the family.
"Yeah. I am fine....uncle." Again the flat answer which made me a little shocked as well angry at her. I knew it wasnt my place to say this but her attitude was really bad toward her relatives. Seriously, I have never seen Tsubaki talking with someone with so sour tone.
"It's okay Kazu boy...Kayo chan is still angry because of that incident." It seemed Nichiro san saw through me as he spoke in rather an apologetic tone.
"Yeah. We still are ashamed of what happened last time because of our fool of a son". The woman we spoke to before, Shiina san also joined which made me realize Kabura kun was their son.
I looked at Tsubaki who was gazing away toward her phone just to avoid me. With a sigh, I spoke to the helpless couple.
"It's okay Nichiro san. I have gotten over it and Tsubaki too..." I increased my volume to grab her attention but it didn't work. She literally was whining like a kid.
But looking at our surroundings I knew it won't be good to talk with her so I left that part for now and looked back at Norihito and Maya san who was also looking at me with the same helpless look.
'It seems Tsubaki is their precious princess after all.'
