Chapter 39.1 – Covering One’s Face In Despair (1)
The sun shone brightly through the window early in the morning.
When Lu Qipei woke up, a familiar plum blossom fragrance filled her nose. It made her not realize where she was for a moment, and she thought that she was still lying on her own bed at home. Her eyes had not opened yet, but the bright surroundings already told her that it was getting late.
When she thought of the morning assembly at Hanlin Academy, Lu Qipei instantly opened her eyes, but what greeted her was an unfamiliar light-colored curtain.
Lu Qipei was temporarily confused, and soon felt dizziness and swelling pain in her head, as if she had just woken up with a hangover. She subconsciously tried to raise her hand to touch her forehead, but then realized that her hand was holding on to something.
She turned her head around blankly, and saw Qi Yang familiar and beautiful face on the pillow beside her…
Instantly, the memories of being “drunk” rushed back to her like a tidal wave, making her already swollen head feel even more painful. But compared to the headache, right now Lu Qipei who remembered what happened last night cared more about finding a hole to hide in!
Maybe so it wouldn’t leave other traces, Liu Chen used a very special drug. Although it would put someone under a charm, it was actually pretty much like being drunk – some people would forget all that happened when they were drunk, while others would remember everything.
Fortunately, Lu Qipei was the latter, but she really felt that it would’ve been better if she had forgotten everything that happened last night. Making Her Royal Highness The Princess came out of the palace to pick her up personally, taking advantage of Qi Yang in the carriage until she blushed, then acting spoiled afterwards… even a serious person like Lu Qipei couldn’t help but feel ashamed.
But that was all still fine, because there were even worse things waiting for her afterwards…
Last night, Qi Yang naturally ignored Zhi Ting’s advice, and did not find another place to stay after sending her away. The two were married in their previous life and had shared a bed. Not to mention she knew that Lu Qipei was a woman, so she had no qualms about it.
But the drunk Lu Qipei was different from her usual self, and didn’t have her usual noble and composed demeanor. She acted like a spoiled cat looking to be pampered by its owner, rubbing herself from time to time. After Qi Yang went to bed, Lu Qipei voluntarily rolled into her arms, kissing and rubbing her, even pressing her own body against hers until Qi Yang heated up.
Lu Qipei now remembered how Qi Yang’s breathing became chaotic back then, obviously aroused. Eventually Lu Qipei settled down, having found a soft nest. After tossing and turning enough, she fell asleep in Qi Yang’s arms, half of her bodies still on top of hers.
Yes, she fell asleep. After teasing her, she fell asleep on top of Qi Yang’s body!!
Lu Qipei didn’t feel like touching her forehead anymore – she just wanted to cover her face. She was ashamed of her blunder last night and had no face to see anyone anymore. She finally covered her face in despair, unable to think about the morning assembly anymore.

Qi Yang was awakened by the rustling sound. When she woke up, she subconsciously reached to her side – the empty bed caught her by surprise, and she quickly opened her eyes.
Then Her Royal Highness The Princess saw her Prince Consort tiptoeing down the bed…
Qi Yang went silent for a moment, then immediately sat up. Her long hair scattered behind her like clouds, and her face still had a blush from having just woken up. It was as if her whole person had turned more gentle. But although she only looked at the person at the end of the bed without saying anything, there was somehow a kind of aura that people could not ignore coming from her.
Of course, Lu Qipei had noticed the movements when Qi Yang woke up. She immediately froze in place and did not dare to look at Qi Yang because of her guilty conscience.
Qi Yang was the first to speak, her voice lazy and hoarse from just waking up. “Ah Pei, are you awake? It’s still early, why are you in such a hurry?”
Lu Qipei silently looked at the light outside the bed canopy. Although she couldn’t go out to look at the sky, she knew that the sun had already risen by now. The sky was already so bright, so it must have already been late. But she still lacked confidence and replied with a low voice, “Your Highness, I, I have to go to Hanlin Academy for the morning assembly.”
Qi Yang was pretty amused by Lu Qipei’s timid appearance. She really felt that this last trip outside the palace was a very fruitful one, as she got to see multiple facets of Lu Qipei. Her eyes subconsciously softened, but unfortunately the person feeling timid didn’t see it. She raised the bed canopy and looked outside, “You don’t have to worry. There’s someone who will ask Hanlin Academy for a leave on your behalf.”
Lu Qipei didn’t know whether she should feel relieved or annoyed when she heard it, but it really was an embarrassing situation.
Qi Yang leaned on the soft pillow and watched Lu Qipei’s embarrassed look with great interest. She finally couldn’t hold back her laugh after a while – her eyebrows curved up together with her light laughter, so beautiful it would make people forget about their worries.
Lu Qipei finally turned her head and looked a little stunned for moment – Qi Yang’s appearance reminded her of her previous life. When they shared the same bed back then, Qi Yang didn’t know her identity, and she hid a lot of things from her. But back then, the two of them were always harmonious and happy together.
Back then, she didn’t understand why her heart was beating so much, but looking back at it now, it seemed that she had also been attracted to her back then. Then she wondered, was Her Royal Highness The Princess in the previous life also attracted to her?
Unfortunately, this question could no longer be answered now.
Lu Qipei inexplicably felt some regret in her heart. When she looked at Qi Yang, she could not help but feel a tinge of sadness.
Qi Yang sensed it, so she smiled and asker her, “Why are you looking at me like this?”
Her smile made Lu Qipei feel relieved, and she no longer had the timidness from being caught doing something back. She only felt embarrassed when thinking about what happened last night. She knelt at the foot of the bed, hesitated for a second, then said, “Your Highness, thank you for last night.”
