Chapter 1: 1. Abandoned

“Sons of bitches.”

When the words came out of my mouth, I felt relieved, even for a moment. Here I was, bleeding to death in an abandoned way station, with a dozen dead zombies lying in front of me.

“Is this what I deserved? What have I done to you?” 

What had I done to deserve to be left behind? When the zombie invasion happened, we were taking a break at the resting facility with the other students. Everything happened so fast. We all tried so hard to catch the bus, but unfortunately, some of us couldn’t.

“I shouldn’t have saved that girl.”

Yes, if I hadn’t stopped to save that girl, maybe I would have already gotten on the bus and now I’d be safely on my way to school. But that one-second delay caused me to be abandoned.

“They’ve already ruined my life since I took my first step into that fucking school. Fucking rich snobs.”

From the teacher to the janitor, there was no one who didn’t get on top of me because I was poor at the fucking school. To die this way...

“Oh, what I wouldn’t give to get revenge on them…” I muttered, my voice growing weaker and my death was closer than I had expected.

“Would you give your soul too?”

The sound echoing in the facility brought me to my senses. I was so sure that I was alone in this vast station; I wonder where did this sound come from?

“Who are you?” I called around me, my eyes desperately searching for the source of the sound.

“I ask again, would you give your soul to get revenge?”

There she was! She was standing on the side table with her legs crossed, indifferent to her surroundings.

“A woman... no, what are you?” I asked.

A pair of curved horns standing on her head, a thin long tail that moves from time to time, and eyes, those blood-red eyes that can capture the soul of the beholder. This being, more beautiful than the sum of all the women I have seen in my life, could not be human. It was something else.

“Amora,” replied the beautiful woman, with a mischievous child’s gleam in her eyes, looking at me with curiosity as if she had found a new toy. “A succubus,” she said.

“Succubus?” In amazement, I repeated what the woman had said. Even though I knew what that word was, it was the possibility of it being real that surprised me.

“Yes, a succubus.” She looked at me with a slight smile, “you know what it is, don’t you?”

“Y-yeah, I guess…” I looked at her uncertainly. “Isn’t it a sex maniac?”

“You!” She jumped out of her seat in anger, her eyes were blazing. “Hmph, what would you expect from a stupid human?” she said, folding her hands under her full breasts.

“Heh, don’t be so angry at a dying man… I just wanted to make one last joke.” I was having difficulty breathing.

“Die? Who said you were going to die?” She turned to me with a mischievous smile.

“How so?” I was a little disturbed by her gaze. I set out to watch her, unaware of what was going on in her head.

“Revenge, don’t you want it?” she asked.

”Yes, I do," I replied in all seriousness.

“Despite everything? Can you even give up your soul for this?” There was no trace of her soft demeanor from before.

“Yes!” I was already dying. What could be worse than dying?

“Good.” With a satisfied expression, she said, ”you have given the answer I wanted, now it’s time to get your reward," and approached me.

“What do you mean? What will you do to me-“ She clung to my lips without leaving me an opportunity to complete my words.

I could have sworn that with one kiss, my soul left my body. A taste that I can’t describe from her lips was penetrating my body, blowing my mind with pleasure. Although I tried to resist at first, over time I gave myself up to the intoxication of this pleasure.

The last thing I heard before my eyes slowly closed;

“Thus, the contract is done. You are now my apostle in this world, Victor Gray.”
