There was still sometime before the food was served, so Jing Yichen followed Jing Zhongxiu to the study to discuss things. He took this opportunity and told Jing Zhongxiu about the shares.
Huang Lihan and Shangguan Ning were left alone in the living room, talking with each other.
Huang Lihan had witnessed his wife giving birth to the baby and also his sister Huang Liyu who had given birth to her. He was quite familiar with childbirth.
When Huang Liyu gave birth to Shangguan Ning, Shangguan Zheng did not keep accomapny Huang Liyu. Instead, it had been Huang Lihan, her brother, who was with her during the entire process.
He was also the first person who held Shangguan Ning in his arms apart from the medical team.
Childbirth was definitely a tough thing for a woman. Huang Lihan had been quite concerned about his sister back then and now he was worried about Shangguan Ning.
Luckily, Jing Yichen was a reliable man, unlike Shangguan Zheng who did not even care about his wife’s delivery and had gone to attend a banquet with his boss just to climb one step higher.
Huang Liyu passed away early, so Shangguan Ning neither had a mother nor a mother-in-law to guide her. Even the old lady of the Jing Family was not reliable. So Shangguan Ning had not learnt anything from an elder female after she got pregnant. Huang Lihan could only share whatever little he knew about childbirth.
Luckily, the modern medical technology was very advanced and no major danger existed apart from the pain. That made Huang Lihan feel less worried.
When Shangguan Ning was sitting next to him, he wanted to pat his niece’s head like he used to do in her childhood, but he suddenly realized that this little girl was now going to be a mother, so his hand froze in midair.
Huang Lihan withdrew his hand calmly and inquired about her physical condition as well as the development of the baby. He kept reminding her of the important things that she had to watch out for.
He was a talkative person and kept nagging out of concern. But Shangguan Ning did not feel impatient at all.
Uncle was the only person who would nag because he cared deeply about her.
She liked talking with her uncle because all through her childhood, he had been like a father who offered her warmth and protection and made her life better.
While the uncle and the niece were talking, Jing Yichen showed Jing Zhongxiu the contract which he had just received.
After hearing the entire story, Jing Zhongxiu also got quite surprised by Ji Bo’s sudden change of heart.
But he trusted his son’s judgement and believed that Ji Bo was really seeking refuge with Family Jing .
Ji Family was a capable family and with their support, Family Jing was definitely going to flourish more.
He gave the contract back to Jing Yichen and showed a smile on his serious face. “Since you have got the shares back, then those belong to you. I don’t need them. You can give some to my grandson when he is born.”
Jing Yichen did not reject the proposal. He accepted it and replied calmly, “Okay!”
Entire Jingsheng Enterprise would be Jing Yichen’s sooner or later. It did not matter when the shares were given to him.

After Jing Zhongxiu returned the certificate to Jing Yichen, he turned around and grabbed a kraft-paper folder and gave it to Jing Yichen.
“These are the documents regarding the incident eleven years ago. I have checked everyone in the list and all of them are related to Tang Yun. They are not a weak force and belong to the Mafia. You eliminated a large number of them eleven years ago and many have faded away with time. Their camp is based in the US.”
Jing Yichen turned a bit pale after hearing this. He did not want to recall what had happened in the past because the memories were too distressing.
Jing Zhongxiu could tell that the past had cast a deep shadow upon his son, judging from his look.
He paused for a second before continuing. “It must have been a conspiracy back then and the culprit aimed at Family Jing. The main source must have been buried a long time ago. You can look into it yourself. However, Family Jing did have some problems with a Family Tang who betrayed us at that time. So it might have caused a terrible relationship between the two. It was just a small family and we did not exterminate all of them or pay much attention to it. If you had not talked about Tang Yun, I would not have been reminded of that family at all.”
Jing Yichen still looked pale, but managed to calm himself down.
“It is fine. With the clues here, I will be able to find out the truth. Family Tang might have been a small family back then, but now it seems to have become the king of underground gangs, and is quite strong.”
Tang Yun would not have been so vicious had she not been related to the mafia. She was not very civilized and didn’t seem to have received proper education.
She was not that smart but always thought highly of herself. That meant that she must have been spoiled! But she was able to overcome strong hallucinogens and fierce interrogation, so it also meant that she was a well-trained person.
The people behind her sent Tang Yun to approach him and did not even bother to change her name. What an arrogant gangster!
His enemy was going to pay double the price for the torment he suffered eleven years ago!
Tang Yun had been killed by him. Had it been possible, Jing Yichen would not have killed her. Instead, he would have tormented her so much that she would have received a painful, slow death.
Some people were wandering around Landscape Compound these days and Tiger and his men had noticed it already. But it was still unclear who those people were. Apparently, they did not belong to Yang Muyan.
Yang Muyan’s men were always hitmen hired at a high price, cruel and unrestrained. But the people who had appeared here were skilled and well-organized.
Jing Yichen suddenly realized that those must be the men belonging to Tang Yun’s camp.
They must have heard about Tang Yun’s death, so they came to figure out the truth.
Jing Yichen was not sure of the real reason why Tang Yun had approached him. But it was a big mistake to have sent her as the bait. Anyone else who was more discreet and smarter would have managed to hook Jing Yichen.
Tang Yun was brainless, impulsive and indiscreet. She could mess up a perfect plan.
Whether or not Tang Yun really liked him was not Jing Yichen’s concern. He never cared about it, not in the past, not now.
He was a man who always took revenge. If someone tried to destroy him, he was definitely going to get even with that person.
When Jing Zhongxiu and Jing Yichen walked out of the study, Jing Yichen’s face had already returned back to its normal expression. He looked completely fine.
Jing Yichen was always calm facing Shangguan Ning. He would not want her to know about the troublesome matters which may worry her, unnecessarily.
Shangguan Ning was pregnant and too much killing would be bad for the child. Although Jing Yichen did not quite believe in this kind of superstition, he would rather be safe than sorry.
