But Jing Yichen felt that his grandpa had deprived him of the right to name his son, and for that, he stopped talking with Jing Tianyuan and sulked for a few days.
Jing Tianyuan did not approve of Jing Yichen’s proposal of naming the child and did not care if Jing Yichen spoke to him or not. He had a great-grandson and his grandson did not matter that much any more. When the great-grandson was born, he made the necessary calculations regarding the child’s birth time and after four hours, he reached the name “Rui”.
But when Old Master came up with the name, Shangguan Ning was still fast asleep, unaware of the happenings around her.
Jing Yichen smiled and said in a whisper, “Yes, Rui will be the name, Rui as in intelligence, and his nickname will be Ruirui. It sounds good.”
Jing Yichen was quite pleased by Jing Tianyuan’s idea. He had not come up with a strange or complicated name, but one that had deep meaning and sounded simple. So he accepted his proposal gladly.
Shangguan Ning thought over the name and felt that it sounded good. She said gleefully, “Good name! Grandpa is great, his ideas are better than mine!”
Jing Yichen could not help but laugh. “So you also know that you are so bad at naming our child!”
No matter what name Jing Tianyuan would have come up with, he would not have made it straightforward and random, something like Baby Jing Junior, Baby Jing Senior etc.
It was okay if a child was called Baby Junior or Baby Senior. It sounded cute. But when the child grew up, it would be so silly if a man was called Baby Jing Senior.
Shangguan Ning did not mind being mocked by Jing Yichen. She kissed her son’s cheeks gleefully and called out his name. “My little Ruirui, my lovely baby! Ruirui is definitely going to be very smart.”
Maybe the little baby heard Shangguan Ning. He moved his limbs and started to wail without opening his eyes, startling the new parents.
Neither of them had experienced taking care of children ever, so they started to panic.
Shangguan Ning, out of instinct, picked him in her arms and pampered him anxiously. “Dear baby, dear Ruirui, I am here for you…”
The little fellow cried so loud. He indeed sounded strong!
Seeing his son wail, Jing Yichen panicked for a moment and then was reminded of what Mu Xin had told him before – newly-born baby might get hungry when he woke up. So he said, “Ning, our son may be hungry, try feeding him.”
“Ah?”Shangguan Ning got startled, and then unbuttoned her blouse and put her swollen breast into her son’s mouth.
When Jing Rui latched on, he stopped crying and started to drink the milk.
But Shangguan Ning did not seem to have sufficient milk. Jing Rui did not get enough from one side, so Shangguan Ning had to switch to the other breast to feed him.
Luckily, Jing Rui had just been born and didn’t need that much. He finally got full after two rounds.

The little fellow burped, and fell asleep again. During the entire process, he only wailed for a few seconds and did not even open his eyes.
With her son fully fed and falling asleep in her arms, Shangguan Ning felt content.
Jing Yichen did not want her to hold the baby for too long, so he said, “Put down the baby, let him sleep on the bed. Your arms would get uncomfortable after holding him for too long and it may lead to some complications.”
Shangguan Ning threw a surprised look at him and asked. “How did you know that?”
Jing Yichen might not have the experience, but he had been reading the relevant books for some time and knew what a woman should and should not do during the first month after childbirth.
Mo Lan could have visited and taken care of Shangguan Ning, but for one thing, she did not know that Shangguan Ning had given birth to the child. More importantly, she was in a coma because she had been knocked out by Lu. For another, Jing Yichen did not like Mo Lan much, and he would not allow her to take care of Shangguan Ning.
He had called Zhao Zhao and asked her to take care of Shangguan Ning and the child.
Jing Yichen laughed and looked at Shangguan Ning’s plump breasts, then he took hold of her hands and recounted the dos and don’ts to her.
He said, “I have asked Aunt to come and help. She will be here soon. You can ask her if you have some more questions. I read all of this in books, and all the information may not be necessarily accurate. Sister Lan and Sister Fang would visit today, too. They both have children and Sister Lan has two of them. With those experienced people, you will not be tired. Two more days, if you both are fine, we will go home.”
He had already got everything well-arranged and taken everything into consideration. He had been so careful that Shangguan Ning felt surrounded by warmth.
She replied with a smile. “Sure, whatever you say, I will follow.”
By noon, both Sister Lan and Sister Fang had arrived, looking delighted after hearing that Shangguan Ning had given birth to the Master Junior.
They knew that the due date had been two months’ away, and had no idea why the baby arrived earlier. Yet, they were very happy.
An old saying was that if the baby was born in the 7th month, he would usually live, but if he was born in the 8th, then the possibility of staying alive would be less.
Sister Lan had brought the thick crucian soup that would help improve the quantity of mother’s milk. As she brought out the food, she said, “Lady, Master Junior looks so big, and his hair is dense. It is very rare that a child born in the 7th month would look so fine. Master Junior looks as if he were born in full term. Don’t worry, Master Junior would definitely live well and be healthy!”
Shangguan Ning had never seen other newly-born babies, so she couldn’t make a comparison. But after hearing what Sister Lan said, she was very pleased.
She had feared that Jing Rui’s growth would be affected because he was born early. But after hearing what Sister Lan said, she smiled brightly.
“That is wonderful! I think that Ruirui looks quite energetic. He cried so loudly today, what a strong fellow!”
A mother never thought that there was anything less than perfect about her son. It was the same for Shangguan Ning. She felt that Jing Rui was perfect in every way.
Jing Yichen agreed with Sister Lan. He had seen some newly-born babies at the hospital who were born post nine months of pregnancy, but all of them looked as strong as Jing Rui, and some of them did not even cry as loudly as his son!
