Chapter 253 - "Mom, I don't think Mr. Lu likes sweets." (2)
“You were asleep earlier so we didn’t wake you. We got take out instead.” Luo Xiu explained to Su Ran when he saw the confusion on her.
“Oh? Is that so…” Was she asleep that soundly?
“Oh, I apologize,” said Su Ran to Lu Shao apologetically.
After all, he had particularly invited her to experience that restaurant that was raved about. She had, nevertheless, fallen asleep in the car.
“It’s no problem,” said Lu Shao with his lips curved upward.
Pausing a little, Lu Shao went on, “We got both of their house specialties and their morning tea. You should try them when they are still warm.”
“Sure, sure. Yes. Thank you.”
Su Ran nodded. She couldn’t wait to take the two boxes of pastries from her son.
They smelled incredible and she was sure they would taste even better.
Su Ran opened up the two food boxes that looked particularly high-end and saw that each of the two boxes had 6 very delicate-looking pastries in them.
One of them shaped like a little pumpkin and there seemed to be some sort of a filling inside. The other one looked like an egg tart except that the ingredient on the top was purple in color with a layer of shredded coconuts.
“This one has pumpkin filling and the owner said the other one is purple yam flavored.” Su Han explained next to her.
Su Ran’s eyes sparkled as she listened to Su Han.
Both of them were her favorite!
Besides, they already sounded delicious!
No wonder the shop was raved about! Mr. Lu surely did not lie to her!
She had no idea what other kind of pastries the shop had.
Looking at the two types of pastries in front of her, Su Ran felt quite regretful that she had fallen asleep.
Looking at the regret in Su Ran’s eyes, Su Han had a fairly good idea what they meant.
He gave Lu Shao a rude look and said, “I wanted to wake you up but someone won’t let me.”
“We can go again if you like their pastries.”
That was Lu Shao who said that.
Su Ran’s eyes lit up when she heard that.

Made sense. They were going to be there for over a week. From the way Lu Shao had described it, the shop wasn’t too far away from their hotel.
She could totally bring her son with her when the competition was less intense.
Su Ran had it all planned out in her mind, habitually omitting the “we” part from Lu Shao just a little while ago.
As they talked, Su Ran couldn’t wait but placed a little pumpkin into her mouth.
She hadn’t expected that while the mini pumpkin looked so nice and smooth, there was a crispy layer wrapped under the glutinous exterior. Inside of that was soft and smooth fillings that was almost fluid. There was even a hint of milky taste amidst the slight sweet pumpkin flavor.
It was simply incredible!
“Oh, right. You two haven’t eaten yet, have you?” asked Su Ran after she had recollected herself.
“Mmm.”
“Here, son. Try this! This is amazing.” After Su Han had nodded, Su Ran picked up one of the mini pumpkins and pushed it in front of Su Han’s mouth as though she was promoting it.
Much like at home, Su Ran would always shove a piece into Su Han’s mouth whenever she had someone delicious.
Su Han was very used to that already.
Seeing that the pastry was almost at his mouth, Su Han opened up his mouth reflexively and was about to take a bite out of it.
All of a sudden, a “cold air” sliced through and Su Han noticed the look coming from Lu Shao from the front.
Ho.
Su Han snickered to himself and calmly took a bite out of the mini pumpkin as Mr. Lu looked on.
It was a little sweet. It tasted… alright?
Why did the woman rave about it so?
Whatever. If she liked it so much, he could go with her again if the opportunity present itself.
Providing that Lu Shao didn’t tag along with them.
“Is it good?”
“Yes, it is.”
“What about this one?” asked Su Han as he pointed at the box with the purple yam-flavored box after replying to Su Ran’s question.
“Oh, I haven’t tried this one yet. But it should be pretty good. Here, try one,” said Su Ran as she placed purple “egg tarts” into both her own and Su Han’s mouths.
Sure enough, that was very good too!
