For someone who loved small animals like Yang Han, this place was like heaven to her.
The person in charge of this rescue shelter is an old woman with wrinkles at the corner of her eyes laced with gentleness. She knew Lu You Qi and smiled the moment she saw him. “Oh, here you are.”
The German shepherd, who was in charge of guarding the entire rescue station, barked at them non-stop while wagging his tail excitedly. Lu You Qi greeted her and walked inside. The old woman asked, “Where’s Winnie?”
Lu You Qi smiled, “She had to work today, so I dragged along another laborer here.” He turned around as Han Shi Yu followed, tsk-ing a few times to ‘provoke’ the guard dog that was leashed.
Han Shi Yu looked at her and said, “Hello, auntie.”
The old woman smiled back at him.
Yang Han, who had already rushed into the house excitedly, called out then, “Hello, grandma!” Xu Jia and Liu Zuo Ye also greeted her after that.
The old woman was overjoyed to see the three girls and greeted them in quick succession. She went inside and took out a set of keys before leading them to the place where the stray dogs had been taken in.
Lu You Qi looked at them from afar and asked, “Aren’t you going to do a video call with Yang Mo for him to join you guys?”
Perhaps because identical souls would inevitably attract each other, Han Shi Yu very quickly made up with the ‘vicious dog’ that was barking at him.
He patted the dog’s head and said, “I didn’t tell him. It’ll be a surprise for when he returns.”
“Hoh, full of tricks up your sleeves, huh.” Lu You Qi laughed a little.
He continued the conversation he just had with him in the car. “How did you convince Yang Mo? Although he likes small animals, he may not like children.”
“He wasn’t fond of children, but he also was helpless against them.” Han Shi Yu stood up and walked to his side with a smile, “I wasted a pound of my breath to convince him in the first place.”
When Han Shi Yu mentioned adopting a child for the third time, Yang Mo was already impatient and pushed a ‘proposal’ to him with a sticky note on top of his mouth and said, “No way.”
At this point of time, the ‘reborn’ Ji Xun had just gotten on track. The two of them were really busy, yet he insisted on his suggestion of raising some child.
Han Shi Yu took off the sticky note stuck on his mouth and said, “I’m afraid you’d want to leave again. But if there’s a child, then they can still accompany me when you abandon me…”
The trick of acting miserable had been used by Han Shi Yu twice. The first time, this dog managed to latch on to Yang Mo’s guilt by indirectly expressing how he had been sleeping badly, eating unwell throughout the one month they fought and went separate ways. His eyes looked like they were close to tears as he carefully asked, “Ge, will you still leave in the future?”
Yang Mo had to repeat once more that he wouldn’t leave. After that Han Shi Yu began to ‘seek a sense of security’ by nibbling on his neck before slowly…developed to their bed affairs.
The second time he used this trick, Yang Mo realized something was wrong.
If he still took the bait the third time, then Yang Mo’s brain would be entirely useless.
Yang Mo pointed at him and said,” How’s the investment funds gathering going?”
Han Shi Yu said, “Not yet done…”
Yang Mo: “Then get out of here and go to work.”
Han Shi Yu: “Ugh.”
Although he refused it, Yang Mo could still see that Han Shi Yu was being serious. He once said that he never got to see his own father since he was a child and was always envious of other people’s families. He had a deep longing towards that title.
Yang Mo always felt like it would be awkward to talk about such topics between the two of them, so he ended up leading the topic elsewhere each time.
When he finally found some time to think about this matter after work, he did his share of homework, research and brainstormed for 3 hours before speaking up.
It was already 11:30 in the middle of the night when Yang Mo suddenly called out, ‘Han Shi Yu’. He asked, “Are you asleep?”
Han Shi Yu had been so busy recently that he went from refusing to go sleep unless he had scrolled through his phone for an hour while staying up, to falling asleep the second his head hit the pillow.
When he heard his name being called, Han Shi Yu let out a grunt and slowly turned around under the blanket, wrapping his arms around Yang Mo’s waist. He couldn’t even keep his eyes open but he still answered, “No…”
Yang Mo sighed, “I was thinking about…what you said about adopting a child.”
Han Shi Yu immediately sobered up as he stared at the back of Yang Mo’s neck and blinked. “Ah?”
He told Han Shi Yu the exact process of the whole plan, down to the details of time and people as well as his future planning, not knowing if Han Shi Yu even understood. But he agreed readily, “Okay.”
Yang Mo opened his mouth and stressed once again that this matter should not be treated lightly like child’s play. After he said that, he noticed that Han Shi Yu’s grip on his waist tightened. The tip of his nose brushed against his neck as his voice sounded lazy with sleepiness, “I’ll work hard to earn money to provide for you two.”
The spot on the back of his neck felt tickly from being rubbed against. His heart also seemed to have shook a little from hearing his voice. Yang Mo couldn’t help but smile, but he tried his best to sound calm. “Who’s providing for who?”
Han Shi Yu chuckled a little, “You’re providing for me.”
During the period where Ji Xun was on the verge of going bankrupt, countless companies offered Starry a helping hand to come over to their side. But the legendary Starry stayed put no matter how great of a tornado came their way. The President of Ji Xun had nothing to worry about no matter where they were headed towards.
“Ah, you’re so good, ge…” He mumbled softly, feeling happier by the second the more he thought about it. “God must have knocked over the bottle of luck when he was creating me…”
This guy was so tired that he fell asleep while mumbling all that.
