Yang Mo was an atheist but walking into the church with this man that day made him feel more devout than ever.

White really suited Han Shi Yu, making him look neat and handsome. His eyes were like the lake on a quiet morning, shimmering with each of his smile.

Han Shi Yu held out his arm for him to hold as his eyes curved upwards a little in a smile, “Relax.”

The eyes of young children who had only just arrived in the world were always shining brightly, able to hold an entire world within them. But as people slowly grow up, there would only be the reflection of a narrow, cramped life.

Yet, his eyes still remained clear and bright.

As if stars had fallen into them.

There was a period of time where Yang Mo really wanted to learn more about Han Shi Yu’s childhood.

Whenever he set aside all his distracted thoughts, he would wonder what kind of child he used to be.

Other people’s growth was akin to the constant shrinking of a lake.

But for Han Shi Yu, his growth was like picking the stars in the sky.

He would remember the brightness of each star, puffing up his chest proudly whenever a passer-by stopped by to ask about it. Speaking as if he was the expert, he would ramble endlessly on how that was the brightness star in the world, this was the start that never stopped shining.

By the age of eighteen, Yang Mo had passed by this exact spot and this child did not hesitate at all to shove this river of stars towards him. He had even engraved his name in every single star.

Whenever another passer-by would walk pass here, his pride was no longer about the stars alone, but the fact that he had picked them along with him.

‘This was his favourite star, and I like it too’.

Yang Mo stared at Han Shi Yu’s confident and calm smile, then shifted his gaze down to his slightly trembling arm before returning the same sentence, “…Relax a little too.”

His best mates were watching them. His dormmates, which included the F4. If Han Shi Yu made a mood of himself by any chance, it would be the most classic moment that they could record in their history books for the rest of their lives.

So Han Shi Yu carried an extra layer of nervousness compared to Yang Mo.

The priest finished reading the traditional vows in Chinese, then at the request of the couple, turned the page and took a deep breath before saying, “Mr. Han would like to say to his future partner…”

“Mr. Yang Mo, are you willing to tie the know with Mr. Han Shi Yu? To love him and be faithful to him, in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer…”

Yang Mo suspected that he had copied the original vows directly.

The priest continued, “…Whether or not he allows you to eat spicy food…”

Yang Mo: “.”

He could hear the stifling laughter and applause from the guests.

The night before, Han Shi Yu had racked his brain out for a long time. All the books he had read over the years still could not provide him with any good sentences for the wedding vow. In the end, he decided to ‘use’ this opportunity where Yang Mo had no choice but to say ‘I do’, to snatch away his free will of eating spicy food.

After he had finished writing the ‘until death do us part’, he thought for a while longer before adding on—

“He wants to slowly tell these words to you in the days to come, when he recalls it suddenly after waking up, when it feels sentimental on the way back home. He hopes to have a lifetime of time together with you, to banter over the most trivial matters and gossip over all the little things in the world.” The priest read.

Yang Mo looked at the sincere gaze of the man across him and lowered his head to stare at his own reflection in the dew of a flower petal.

The priest said, “Mr. Yang Mo, do you?”

Yang Mo sucked in a deep breathe, “I do.”

Using his expressions, Han Shi Yu had celebrated his successful plan of taking away Yang Mo’s freedom to eat spicy food as he wanted to.

The priest cleared his throat a little and turned to the next page. He blinked a little at the neat handwriting, unable to believe his eyes yet again.

The priest said, “Mr. Yang Mo would like to tell his future partner that…”

There was only one short sentence on it, “I like you,”

Yang Mo wrote that on the flight, using the cheapest ballpoint pen to write that three Chinese characters. He ended the sentence with a comma.

It was to signify that even after the ‘end’, the story will continue to go on.

He had never said this to Han Shi Yu even after they had gotten together. It sounded too cringy and he couldn’t put it past himself to utter it with his own mouth.

But when he was asked to write something precious like this vow, even after searching his mind for half a day, he still found that these words he had never said before carried the most weight.

At that time, Yang Mo had folded the A4 paper a few times after writing that down. Then, he stuffed it into his jacket pocket, pulled back his gaze from looking out of the window and began to stare at the silly dog who was pretending to be asleep next to him with an eye patch on.

The paper had neat folding marks on it, with four characters and a punctuation mark lying quietly within. That sentence was truly so short that the priest didn’t know how to continue on. So he moved on to the traditional vow, “Mr. Han, do you—”

Before he finished his sentence, Han Shi Yu held a hand to the back of Yang Mo’s neck, pulled him closer and kissed him.

Laughter and applause echoed within the church as the soft light filtering through the window glistened through Han Shi Yu’s eyes.

Relaxing his lips, Han Shi Yu cupped Yang Mo’s cheek with one hand as he rubbed the tips of their noses against each other.

The skin where he was touched was throbbing a little with heat. Yang Mo clicked his tongue, “Close your eyes…”

Han Shi Yu: “I won.t”

As the petals drifted down from above, he leaned in for another kiss.

Yang Han rested her head on top of the mop handle as she looked at him with cold eyes.

The voice under the mask sounded a little muffled as she said, “Then, what did dad say to you?”

Han Shi Yu aimed the beer can at the trash can before saying, “The three most romantic words in the world.”

Yang Han: “Huh?”

Han Shi Yu gave it another thought, thinking that the comma should be added in as well, so he said, “…It should be four words.”

Yang Han thought deeply about it and confidently gave it a guess, “You’re truly a dog.”

She held out her fingers and counted, “It’s four words.”

Han Shi Yu let out a ‘hmph’ before glancing at her smugly. He threw the beer can forward, which fell in a perfect arch, landing right outside the trash can.

“Han Shi Yu!” Xiao Yang the cleaner yelled angrily, “Don’t you have feet to walk with!”

T/N: So, ‘I like you’ in Chinese is actually 4 letters, adding the comma it would be 5 letters. But in English, I decided to make it 3 and 4 letters so it makes more sense. ‘You’re truly a dog’ in Chinese, is supposed to be 5 letters, but I can’t think of ways to make it tally in English. So just view ‘you’re’ as one word please, thank you XD

Anyways, the whole wedding vow part is just the sweetest, isn’t it! The vows were reflected their personalities perfectly and man, I had to take a moment for the ‘would like to banter over the littlest things’ and just the simplest ‘I like you’. They’re goals
