-Nerissa POV-

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in my room, lying on top of my bed. The sun was streaming through the window, and it looked like someone had left the lights on.

I tried to sit up, but my head hurt a lot and my body ached all over, I even felt an urge to vomit.

Without being able to keep my balance, I fall to the ground.

What happened? If I remember well, last time I was in school, then... Why I'm in my room? Wasn't I in school...with Belzu, where is she?

My thoughts were stopped when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs.

"Are you awake dear? I heard something fall" My mom walked into my room. She had a worried look on her face.

"Mom? What happened? Wasn't I on school?"

"Dear it looks like you had a stroke, I had to pick you up from school" Mom said with concern.

"A stroke? Did that really happen?" I asked again.

"Mm? That's what the teacher said, why do you ask?"

"No reason...I just don't really remember..."

I think this might be the second time in my life that I fainted, it surely does suck...I feel horrible.

"Nel, dear you have to go to school"

Uh-h?

"Mom, what time is it?"

"7 am"

" But Mom...my head hurt" I moaned.

"I know baby, it will pass" Mom said with a smile.

"But..."

"Now!" She said as she threw my uniform . "Get dressed, if you don't go we won't get money from government"

...why me? Sigh.

***

Luckily, I got to school on time...

I hate this place.

I went to my site only to find Belzu sitting next to my chair. She looked at me with a smile. I gave her a weak smile back. After what happened yesterday, I don't think it's a good idea to ignore her.

"Good morning, you are late again. " She said smiling.

"Yeah...sorry"

"You don't need to apologize, you did nothing wrong" Her smile got bigger, I almost went blind from the light it emitted.

I hesitated a bit, but at the end, I sat next to her. I honestly felt a bit awkward, not because I was shy or anything.

At the beginning, I tried talking to her, and I think she's an amazing person...but she's now friends with that group...and I don't want to risk getting in trouble with them.

"Are you feeling alright? You don't look too good." She asked.

"Not really" I answered with a sigh.

She leaned forward and put her hand on my forehead "You seem to have a fever"

"Uh-h to close!"

"Oh, sorry, my bad"

Ugh...I wish she wouldn't do that, it makes me feel nervous...Yesterday she did the same thing, right?.

... Why is she talking with me. Even after I expressly avoid her... She has tons of friends already, and it's not even her first week of school. She is beautiful, kind, and on top of that, an angel... Why is she talking with me?

"Can you stay for lunch?"

"I..."

"I prepared an extra special meal"

"Well...I guess I can..." I didn't bring anything to eat so...why not?

"Great! It will be delicious, I promise"

I nodded awkwardly, she seemed excessively happy.

After 2 hours of class, it was launch time. I could already feel her gaze on me...

We were alone on the classroom, everyone seems to have gone to the cafeteria.

Belzu smiled and said "Wait a moment!"

She stood up and looked on her bag. She took out a small box.

"This is for you" She said, handing me the box.

"Thank you" She is really, really kind...

I opened the box and inside was Sushi vegetables, rice and sauce. It's this bento? I have never ate one so it was really hard doing it with the chopsticks.

It's kinda embarrassing being this useless...I turned around and saw Belzu looking at me. She smiled and came closer.

"Here, let me help you" She said as she pulled her chair close to mine, she grabbed the chopstick and took some meat.

What is she-

"Say ahh"

"Eh-hh??"

Taking advantage of the fact that my mouth was open, she stuffed the meat into my mouth.

I felt something warm in my mouth, I looked at Belzu, who was smiling at me.

"Eh-h...thanks"

"No problem" She said with a smile.

"I don't need you to-" I was about to say something when my stomach made a loud growl, which caused Belzu to laugh.

After that she did it again, and again...

Ugh...this is so embarrassing...at least I have free food...

"Do you like it?" She asked, putting down the box.

"Ah, Yes, it is really delicious" I replied.

"I'm glad"

"Mm...aren't you going to eat?"

"Of course"

Using the same chopsticks, she started eating her meal.

Isn't that like an indirect kiss??

I blushed, trying to look away from her.

I am no longer a kid, those type of stuff are stupid, I shouldn't get embarrassed.

After a while, she stopped eating and looked at me, then smiled.

"You seem really reserved today Neri, I remember you being really energetic when we meet"

"...I guess"

"Can I ask you why were you avoiding me?"

"I...don't know."

She sighed, "You can't tell me? I understand"

It's not that...

"I don't want to cause trouble for you."

"You won't"

She took my hand then looked at me

"Neri, will you be my friend?"

Eh? That's a strange question to ask.

"Uhm...sure" I wasn't expecting this, but if she wants to be my friend...well, why not.

"Thanks" She smiled at me, for some reason this smile of her was kinda different from the others...maybe it was just me.

.

.

As we ate, I talked about some random things. The awkward atmosphere from the beginning was disappearing little by little as we both told each other our stories and laughed.

Then the bell rang.

"I'll see you later!" She said as she stood up.

"Sure"

I watched her leave the classroom, and I couldn't help but wonder how could someone so perfect exist.

***

After class ended at 6 pm I went home.

I took a shower, changed my clothes and lay down on the sofa.

Mom was late like every day, luckily today I ate something thanks to Belzu, so I'm not hungry as usual.

I took my old semi-broken phone and searched some cute turtle videos. I really want a new phone...

Watching turtle videos kinda made me depressed. It reminds me of Bamblin. Even if he was a demon, he was more human than the majority of people of this earth...now I can't talk to him ever again...

Why did this happen? Why did he have to die...

Only to save me, he....

"Ugh...I'm tired, I need to sleep" I lied down on the sofa and closed my eyes.

I hope Mom arrives soon today.
