Chapter 137: -Special: A night of old and new beginnings…

It was a lazy thursday.  I’m due to give birth to Kizuna anytime now.  Surprisingly enough I haven’t even once had a case of the braxton-hicks this time around like I did with both Kanae and Kouta.  It seems Kizuna is healthy as can be, and that man has completely given up on me.

I open the door the rest of the way, and let them in. I know Kouta told me to expect her, but I still can’t believe she came to see me.

Shiho looks me over for a bit before asking  “May I?”  her hand is reaching for my belly.  I nod and she places her hand on it.

“Thanks.” I say, accepting the compliment.

I nod.

“I’m sorry.  I’m sorry I didn’t think to include you back then.  I never knew you saw it, and never knew you would have been open to it.  If I had known, it might have gone different.  But it didn’t and that’s in the past.”

“It’s all in the past, Shiho.  Even Ryo now… is in the past.” I acknowledge.

“You miss him?”

“On occasion.  He was my husband, after all.”

“Mm.  Even though you two divorced, I haven’t married him, and don’t know if I will.”

“He’s… a bit of an asshole to tell you the truth.   Was he an asshole to you?”

“Ryo was Ryo… he was a lover to me when I was here, and as much of a father as he could be working that job of his.  We were apart so much that I don’t think there was enough time for him to be much of an asshole to me.”

“Not much of an answer.”

“I loved him at least, if you can call having an affair for almost the entire length of our marriage, love.”

I watch Shi-chan leave before the real talk begins.

“Want a smoke?”

“So… It was just Ryo and Jun your whole life?”
