Chapter 3: Chapter 2

Hidden leaf village, Konoha

A new day began as the ray of sunlight graced Konoha. It was a village founded by the first Hokage, Hashirama, who was also the mentor of the Third Hokage, Hiruzen. The reason for the creation of this village was because Hashirama sought peace for the shinobi world. 

As Dai felt the warmth of sunlight on his face, he soon woke up. He rose from his bed and headed to the bathroom to wash and brush his teeth. Dai then quickly dressed up and put on his ninja headband. Soon he quickly made his breakfast to fuel himself for the day. It was the day when he would be assigned to a team. 

Walking along the busy streets of Konoha, Dai could already see many shops already open and welcoming people.  

Arriving at the Ninja Academy, he could see a crowd of familiar faces. 

"Ino, Shikamaru and Choji, looks like they came right now as well." Dai could see them waving their parents goodbye before entering the academy. 

"Hey guys." Dai greeted them as he approached. 

Soon the group of four people entered their classroom while talking with each other. 

"Dai, come to my house to play shogi when you are free"  Shikamaru commented while yawing like as usual. Dai was the only one who is his age that gives him some challenges. 

"Sure." Dai sighed as he remembered all the matches he lost while playing against Shikamaru,  Eventhough he lost to a kid, Dai didn't become frustrated because Nara clan members were blessed with a high level of intelligence, especially Shikamaru who had an iq over 200. Some would even say he was the smartest character in all anime. 

"Watch I will beat you next time. Maybe not today. Mabe not tomorrow. I will beat you someday" Even if Dai was not frustrated, that does not mean he was not competitive. Playing shogi with Shikamaru over the years, not only did he get to know Ino, Choji and Naruto, but he also found his thinking process increase slowly.

 "Dai, you know you lost all the 40 games you have played with him" Choji said while stuffing some crisp in his mouth. "Its 39 games!" Dai gave him a hateful glare while the whole group started laughing. 

Sitting beside the window, more people started entering. 

'During these past 10 years, I have changed many things, such as how all my classmates believe I'm the strongest in our year. No wonder, that emo Sasuke always gives me death stare. Hopefully, the plot does not change much.' Sighs Dai as he thought this. He did not want to lose one of his strengths, knowing the future. 

"Dai! Look at this, you see this? I am officially a ninja now, believe it." A thunderous sound makes his way and sees a big smile on a bright golden-haired boy with his whisker. 

"Naruto, how many times have I told you not to scream so close to me" Glared our main character. 

"But I knew you would succeed" said Dai with a knowing smile. 

Before Naruto could reply, a voice interrupted him. 

"With your pathetic clone? Guess someone must have bribed then" stated Sasuke as he gave Naruto a glance. 

"Why you? You want to fight?" Naruto gritted his teeth and he quickly found himself crouching Infront of Sasuke's table. They both started having a staring contest, until someone accidentally knocked onto Naruto. 

Seeing both Naruto and Sasuke have their first kiss, Dai could help but laugh inwardly and thought to himself. 'Surprisingly, they actually kissed eventhough the lead up this was completely different. Does this mean some events are inevitable.' Dai fell into deep thought. 

Before the whole class went crazy, Iruka sensei came and gave his speech and began to allocate us into teams. 

"We want the team to balance the strength and ability, so that's how we set them up" 

"I will now announce your team now." 

"Team 7 – Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha" 

Once this was announced, Naruto stood up in joy, while Sakura put her head down feeling dejected. This was until they heard Sasuke's name, which reversed their state. 

More and more teams were announced.

'Just like in the anime, the squad is the same. I wonder -' Dai got caught off as his name was announced.

"Lastly Team 9 – Dai Haruto" 

"Dai is the only one in team because he has been exceptional in all his exams and has already shown his abilities to be at chunin. So, through our assessments, we concluded that it be best for him to be alone." Answered Iruka, which cleared everyone's confusion. 

Once everyone's teams were told, they headed to meet their jonin instructor.

 In the classroom, only team 7 and Dai were present. After saying farewell to them, he soon reached the training ground to meet his sensei.  

After he arrived at the training ground, he could sense that no one was around. With that, he decided to train in developing the new skill that he started weeks ago to compensate for his weak strength. 

Closing his eyes, he focused on his whole body and soon began to utilize his gravity manipulation to increase the density of his body. He wanted to manipulate the density of his body. Thus, his strength and durability would tremendously increase. 

'Imagine causally punching with your fist that weighs many tons, this would easily crush them to death'  

The density of Dai's body soon started to increase quickly.

As if he felt his limit, he stopped increasing his density. 10tons, this was nearly the weight of 2 elephants. A series of cracks started to form on the training ground. 

'Finally, I crossed the 4 tons threshold. I feel like physical attack will have partially no damage on me, but the downside is obviously the speed and the duration I can maintain my density for.' He tried to move but felt immense pressure on him. He just stood still for 30secs barely moving before he reverted to his original density. 

Dai knew that he needed to improve his use of gravitational manipulation to utilize this new skill properly in the battle. 

'If I can master this skill, it will immensely increase my strength and durability but at the cost of my speed. But I can counter this by manipulating my own gravity or learning body flicker technique.' 

'Hmm 10 mins, still trying to hide I see' Dai was already aware that an individual was spying on him the moment he came. 

This was due to one of the skills he developed, it was called gravitational sense. Though the name may sound simple, it was highly effective, and nothing could hide from his sense, whether they are living or non-living. 

In a sense, this skill was over-powered as it acted like a sixth sense, which allowed him to be virtually immune to genjustsu as it can allow the user to differentiate between what is true and false. 

Dai looked at the skill description from his status. 

[Gravitational sense – Every creation emits gravitational fields. This skill allows the user to detect gravitational fields, for instance sensing organisms by the strength of the gravitational field. Living and non-living have gravitational fields completely different to each other]

"Come on out, I know you've been hiding for a while" He turned to that individual. As soon as this was said, an unknown woman who is familiar to Dai appeared before him. 

"You better than I thought kid." a feminine voice was soon heard. She looked at him while eating a dango with a curious gaze as if trying to see him Indepth.
