Chapter 14: End of the Waves mission.

The bridge situation proceeds like it did in canon Naruto, with the only exception being that Sasuke already had a sharingan, and her continuous attacks led to him gaining another tomoe to his left eye, before Naruto rushes in and gets pierced by 111 senbons.  Sauske promptly faints, and Naruto just stays there protecting him.  Then, the other missing-nin arrives, and Rita intervenes.

(The missing-nin just appeared behind Naruto, with his sword about to cut Naruto’s head off.)

NO!(R)

*Rita appears between the swords with a Rasengan already fully charged.  3 tails are seen behind her.*

/SLASH\

!BOOM!

*A large amount of smoke appears*

Naruto!  Rita!(K)

*The battlefield is silent.  Zabuza is frozen, not caring about his fight with Kakashi anymore.  Haku has appeared from her mirrors, and has stopped attacking Naruto and Sasuke.  Kakashi is staring wide-eyed at where the clash just came from, Sharingan fully active, scanning the smoke for some hope that they are alive.  Sasuke woke up from the explosion, and is (despite his insistence that he doesn’t care about them and would prefer that they go die) looking at the smoke with both Sharingan active*

[A few seconds later]

Naruto, are you okay?(R)

Yeah.(N)

Wind style: Great Breakthrough!(K)

*The smoke is blown away to reveal an unharmed Naruto standing just like he was before the explosion.  But Rita is on the ground, blood coming from where her tail was, and the missing-nin, lying on the ground, missing his abdominal area.*

RITA!(K)

*Gato arrives.*

Heh.  You can’t even take out some kids, Zabuza.(G)

Seriously?  Are you betraying me?  Really?(Z)

Yep.  Even you can’t do anything against 100 men.(G)

*A few seconds pass, while every ninja looks at Gato wondering how much of an idiot he is.*

Well.  If you’re betraying me, I no longer have to endure your stupidity and orders.  Haku.  No witnesses.  The shinobi are fine.(Z)

Yes, Zabuza-sama.(H)

*A thick mist covers the area.  When it dissipates a few seconds later, Zabuza and Haku are gone.*

Rita’s still bleeding Kakashi-sensei.  We need to heal her.(N)

The best we can do for now is dress her wound.  It doesn’t look life-threatening.  Let’s get her back to Tazuna’s house.(K)

*Rita faints*

(While Rita is lying on a bed, before she wakes up, a few hours after they retreated to Tazuna’s house)

So what do we do now Kakashi-sensei?(Sakura)

We wait for Rita to wake up, then we protect Tazuna until the bridge is finished.  After that, we’ll head back to Konoha.(K)

(A few days later, in Konoha, in the Hokage Tower)

So.  The client lied about the mission’s difficulty because they couldn’t afford anything higher?(Hiruzen)

Yes, Lord Hokage.(Sakura)

Rita received that injury by protecting Naruto from a sneak attack that would’ve take his head off?(H)

Yeah.  An A-rank mission for our first out-of-village mission.  Completed successfully.(R)

Anything else I need to know?(H)

I believe that is all Lord Hokage.(K)

I believe that this makes us eligible to participate tn the upcoming chunin exams?(R)

What do you think Kakashi?(H)

Sure.(K)

Alright then.  I will sign your team up for the exams.  Now go.  Take a break.(H)
