The timing of the completion of the new Mor Co. office couldn't be better. When Veronica invited Cedric to do a final inspection he was happy with the results. The exterior of the building had been redone and the interior had a fresh new look. He was sure that the employees would actually be eager to come into work.
"Ian, make sure to send invitations to the five fathers and their illegitimate children." Cedric commanded as he looked through the documents Camilla had handed him in the morning.
"How about the bullies sir?" Ian asked. They had picked up the habit of calling the five men that bullied Cedric in Universities as the bullies.
"Invite them as well. I want them to see how much their fathers are depending on others and not them. Inform the fathers that they are to take both the legitimate and illegitimate child to the opening of Mor Co.'s new office." Cedric said as he gave out instructions. He wanted the five men to see how they weren't of value to their fathers.
He knew that all five would be more than willing to have someone under them doing all the work, so seeing their fathers rely on certain employees wouldn't bother them just yet. Cedric was planning on playing the long game with these men. He wanted them to suddenly lose everything, but when they look back they will see how his revenge was a long time coming.
Before the day was over, Ayanna slipped into Cedric's office. She wore a huge smile and sat on his couch while she waited for him to finish what he was doing.
When Cedric finally placed down the papers he was looking at, Ayanna spoke.
"Am I invited to the inauguration of the new Mor Co. building?" Ayanna asked sweetly.
"Are you seriously asking me that question?" Cedric was a little bit annoyed at how Ayanna was asking such an obvious question. She was Ayanna Reyes, the Reyeses owned Mor Co., of course she was supposed to be there.
"Well I don't know if you want your bullies finding out my connection to their half siblings. Sometimes I can't tell how you're gonna twist your plan." Ayanna said with a shrug as she played with some of the displays on Cedric's desk.
"You knowing the newly trusted employees will give the fathers the perfect excuse. It will put a veil over those bullies eyes and they won't know what's happening till it's too late." Cedric said with a grin.
The inauguration was to be held in two days, it wasn't just Cedric and Ayanna that were attending, the whole Reyes family was expected to show up. Aside from them the Abad and Chan families were also expected to be there since Veronica had designed the building and it was already public knowledge that Veronica and Anna Abad were the same person.
The two days before the inauguration were quite busy for Cedric, he spent everyday doing overtime at his office in R Tower. There were many things that the Mor Co. team needed his approval on. He also had to work on his speech for the event. Aside from him, his father, Emilio Reyes III would also be giving a speech. It was, after all, expected since Mor Co. was a subsidiary of the Reyes Group and the first business that the Reyes Heir was handling completely on his own.
On the day of the inauguration Cedric wanted Adrianna to be there, unfortunately Island's Inc. and Mor Co. had no cooperation together and it would only fuel rumors if Adrianna was seen at the event. Cedric decided to let her focus on work since at the end of the week she would be staying at home until she gave birth.
All of the employees were excited to enter the building, for the past few months they had actually been holding office at R Tower, there were only a few people allowed back into the Mor Co. building during the renovation process. Of course at first they were all very excited to be at the head office in R Tower, but they soon realized that they all missed the familiarity of the Mor Co. building.
Most of the employees had found their seats and were excitedly waiting for the VIP guests. According to office rumor, even Eric Chan, who was the endorser for the company would be joining the inauguration.
Cedric's special guests were seated in the row behind where Ayanna would be seated. He wanted to make sure that their half siblings and fathers saw Ayanna acknowledge them. It would do two things first it would strengthen their biological father's confidence in naming his illegitimate child as heir over the legitimate one, the other purpose it served was to justify their presence to the clueless bullies.
When they arrived the bullies all greeted each other happily and were quite rowdy. They even checked out some of the female Mor Co. employees and tried to get some to join them for drinks after. Of course, some of the girls couldn't resist the allure of the rich young men and agreed to go clubbing with them after the inauguration.
Their fathers could not help but shake their heads in disappointment. This proved even more how their first born sons were not meant to inherit their family businesses. Under their control the companies would close in less than a year. Their fathers did try to teach them, after graduating from university they were given key roles in the companies, but as the sons of the owner people never challenged them or called them out. As a matter of fact, when they slacked a manager would pick up whatever the owner's son was dropping. They felt no responsibility whatsoever and spent the day wasting their family's money.
When the Reyes family finally arrived Ayanna took her seat next to her brother at the front. She turned and smiled at her friends.
"Brother didn't tell me that you were coming." Ayanna said happily.
"It was the company that was invited. The bosses just chose to bring us." Tricia Sanchez said as she greeted Ayanna.
"I'm glad my brother invited you guys. It would be incredibly boring if it was just us." Ayanna said with a grin.
When Louie Sanchez noticed his daughter talking to Ayanna Reyes he took advantage of the moment and greeted the young woman.
"Miss Reyes, it's an honor for us to have received an invitation to this event." Despite being much older than Ayanna, Louie Sanchez regarded the woman with much respect. Aside from being a daughter of the Reyes family, Ayanna Reyes was well known for her business prowess despite her young age.
"My brother seems to have taken an interest in your companies. When I heard about it I told him that a few of my good friends worked at the companies he was looking at to work with." Ayanna was doing as Cedric wanted, she was showing the fathers of her friends how close they truly were.
"Ah! It's starting." Matteo David excitedly pointed as Eric came on the stage as the host.
