"They wanted you to marry Mr. Alexander?" Cedric asked.

"I was one of the people they were considering, but Miss Katerina warned me against it. So I asked my parents to reject the offer." Selina explained.

"You're worried that Miss Ayanna won't listen to you because of this?" Cedric said with a laugh.

"Well, there is a second." Selina slowly said as she took a gulp of water and breathed in deep. "The woman the I think Mr. Alexander is currently dating, was my best friend, whom I rejected."

"What do you mean?" Cedric asked as he feigned ignorance.

"When we were on our senior year, my best friend came out as lesbian, wait no she wasn't lesbian, she's bisexual, anyway she came out by confessing to me. And I rejected her, but despite the rejection she tried to get together with me, at first she just kissed me, but things got worse later on. She followed me wherever I went, she even sacrificed her dream school to follow me when I insisted she stay. So when we were in Germany my new best friend told me to push her away, and I did, and well, when I came back I ran into her and Mr. Alexander." Selina admitted.

Cedric was surprised at her side of the story, and even Alexi who was listening in seemed to be frozen in shock.

'Don't believe her' Alexi suddenly messaged him.

"I've heard differently. I didn't know it was you, but the version I've heard is different." Cedric said as he acknowledged knowing Nurse Jen.

"I don't mean to defame her, it's alright if she tells people I led her on. I owe her at least that." Selina said sadly.

'What is wrong with this woman?' Alexi messaged, complaining about Selina's behavior.

"Won't you try to change the narrative?" Cedric asked.

"No. She wasted her best years following me. I mean my brother has been telling me for years that it isn't my fault, but I should have pushed her away sooner. She spent months roaming Europe trying to recover from what happened." Selina said with a sigh.

'Do you still want to ruin her?' Cedric asked Alexi, but no response came.

"We should get going Miss Selina, you still have a meeting with Miss Ayanna." Cedric said as he asked for the bill.

"I should pay for this bill." Selina said as she fetched her wallet.

"No, let me. This is me saying thank you." Cedric said as he pulled out his card and handed it to the waiter.

When he looked back he saw Selina was in shock.

"Are you alright Miss Selina?" Cedric asked.

"That card." Selina said.

"Yes?" Cedric asked as he tried to understand what Selina was trying to say.

"it's a black diamond card from M bank." Selina said. "Only the richest people in the country have that card."

Cedric wanted to slap his own face when he realized that he didn't think Selina would recognize the card.

"It's ummm… given to all of us assistants as well. We need to have the funds to purchase what the boss needs." Cedric said with a shrug.

'Yeah right. Smart though.' Ian teased in a message as he overheard Cedric's excuse.

"Oh." Selina said, believing Cedric's excuse. "Will you be accompanying me to R Tower?" Selina asked.

"Unfortunately, lunch is my only free time. I don't own the company." Cedric said with a laugh, it wasn't un-true. The shares weren't officially in his name yet. Only the Mor Co. ones had been transferred. "You can go ahead Miss Selina." Cedric said.

"Alright. I hope to see you again Mr. Cedric. Thank you." Selina said as she stood and left the restaurant.

When Selina was gone Alexi and Ian quickly transferred to Cedric's table.

"She's so, so, so, evil." Alexi managed to say.

"Really Alexi? Evil? That's all you could come up with?" Cedric asked his friend with a laugh.

"I'm so mad that there is no other word to describe her." Alexi said as he crossed his arms.

"You're blinded Alexi." Cedric said, shaking his head. "She's even willing to take the fall for Jen because she thinks she owes Jen for all those years" Cedric explained.

"Or she could be trying to win over your pity!" Alexi exclaimed.

"Alexi, open your eyes." Cedric scolded. "Jen has you wrapped around her finger too well."

"How can you side with that bitch?! You just met her." Alexi said in a raised voice.

"Alexi, she could have used what happened to me as leverage. She could have asked me to grant the partnership, but she would rather present to my sister and get the partnership on her own merits." Cedric told Alexi.

"It could be an act." Alexi said as he rolled his eyes.

"Then come along to the presentation, let's see if she's any good. Ayanna would never let Elisia malls suffer based on personal relationships so you're sure that she will be fair." Cedric explained.

"Fine." Alexi said getting up from his seat and walking out.

"Alexi is quite scary when he is in love." Ian commented. "I hope he fell for a decent woman, he could easily be manipulated this way."

"Alexi isn't completely devoid of reason. He'll come to his senses." Cedric said as they stood to follow Alexi out.

When they arrived at R Tower, they went up to Cedric's office first so that he could change. As they were walking in the hallway they bumped into Marie and Marco, seemingly holding hands and letting go as soon as they realized that Cedric and the others were also there.

"I thought you'd be at Mor Co. today, cousin?" Marie said, quickly changing the topic. "It was only supposed to be me here today."

"Mmmm. Where's dad?" Cedric asked.

"He said he had an errand to run." Marie explained. "And Ayanna is at Elisia Mall's floor the whole day."

"I'm on my way to Ayanna, I just needed to grab something. Bye." Cedric said as he, Alexi, and Ian went over to the elevator.

"Check on the house." Cedric told Ian as soon as the doors closed.

Ian nodded and as soon as they arrived at Elisia Mall's floor he made a call to the team watching the house.

Not long after he, when they reached Ayanna's office he whispered to Cedric.

"It's confirmed, your dad went there today, the mistress is there as well." Ian reported.

"That's odd, mom doesn't have any trips planned. He's gone as far as meeting her when mom's around." Cedric said with a sigh.

"What do you want us to do?" Ian asked.

"Keep watching. I want to get more information before I start pointing fingers." Cedric told Ian.
