"Daddy, daddy!" Emilio Reyes shouted as he jumped on Cedric's and Adrianna's bed to wake them up.
Cedric groaned as his over excited son shook him awake. He had had a long day at work yesterday and wanted to cherish every minute of sleep he could get before taking his son to school.
"Yoyo!" Cedric heard Adrianna scold their son. "Let your dad rest."
"Sorry dad." Cedric heard his son say as he wrapped his arms around Cedric's neck to give him a hug, making Cedric smile in his sleepy state.
The little boy then slid off of the bed, and probably ran off to go to his mother to prepare for the day.
Unable to go back to sleep, Cedric stood up after a few minutes and took a bath. Cedric chose to wear something more casual today, he didn't have to go to the office or attend any meetings.
When he stepped out of the bathroom he found Adrianna sitting by her vanity, smiling back at him.
"Don't you want to rest a little bit more?" Adrianna asked as she walked over and fixed his shirt.
"I'm fine, I'm not sleepy any more." Cedric said with a smile as he kissed his wife on the lips.
"You got home so late last night, well this morning. I'm sure you're exhausted." Adrianna said with a look of concern in her eyes.
"It's fine Adri." Cedric said as he looked down at his wife.
"Is everything alright at work?" Adrianna asked her husband in a hesitant tone.
"Yes, things are going really well, to be honest I'm more worried that things are going too well with the Reyes Group." Cedric said with a frown.
"I'm sure everything is fine because you and all the employees at the Reyes Group placed your efforts into planning all of these." Adrianna said with a smile.
"I guess." Cedric said with a hesitant nod.
"Come on, let's go and have breakfast with Yoyo." Adrianna told Cedric as she held his hand and interlocked their fingers. "Our friends and your family should arrive soon, they all wanted to wish Yoyo good luck for his first day in school."
"Aren't you worried that we are sending him to school too early?" Cedric asked his wife.
The little boy was only four but he was quite eager to start school, Cedric and Adrianna had him assessed by many experts to see if he was ready. In the end, they discovered that going to school would do him more good than bad.
Emilio had grown up alone in a world full of adults, although he had Tristan to play with, the little boy was too young. Emilio was in need of social interaction with people his age, and he could get that in school.
"You are worried about something." Adriann said as they walked out of their room.
"I'm afraid he won't be emotionally mature enough. I'm also worried that he'll get bullied, especially in elementary where he will be smaller than the other kids since he is a year younger." Cedric said with a frown.
"He'll be fine Cedric, he is a Reyes after all." Adrianna told her husband with an adoring smile. "I know you guys are a hardy bunch." She teased.
"He won't have the Reyes surname to back him." Cedric said, still worried about his son.
"Stop acting so moppy, aren't you the one that keeps telling me to just have faith and to trust that we did our best?" Adrianna asked her husband as they got into the elevator. "Trust that we did the right thing, and trust our son."
Cedric wordlessly nodded as he tried to convince himself that Yoyo would do just fine in school.
"Hey Yoyo." Adrianna called out as they entered the dining room. "Look who woke up."
When Emilio saw his father, he quickly hopped off his chair and ran over to Cedric. The little boy jumped, making Adrianna and Cedric panic, as Cedric struggled to catch him out of surprise.
"Daddy, I missed you." Emilio said as he wrapped his arms around his father's neck, hugging him tightly and refusing to let go.
"Yoyo, I'm here at home everyday. What do you mean you missed me?" Cedric asked his son as he patted the back of his tiny head.
"Daddy is home but I never get to see you." Emilio said as he placed his head on Cedric's shoulders and began to cry.
"Yoyo. don't cry, what's wrong?" Cedric asked his son as he rocked the boy back and forth in his arms like when he was a baby.
"You don't play with me anymore." Emilio complained to Cedric. "Mommy and Grandma and Grandpa and Auntie always say daddy is working, I hate working."
"Emilio, is it true? Do you really miss daddy that much?" Cedric asked his son as he felt his heart breaking as his son accused him of working too much.
"Yes." Emilio said as he nodded vigorously.
"Okay Yoyo, I promise to come home earlier more often." Cedric told his son as he placed him back down on the ground and knelt in front of him.
"Really daddy?" Emilio asked in an excited tone.
"Yes, I'll help you with your homework everyday, and after we can go to the garden and play." Cedric promised his little son.
Emilio began jumping up and down, Celebrating Cedric's promise.
"I promise to be a good boy dad, I will behave, I promise." Emilio said as he nodded.
"Okay, so tell me, what name will you be using in school?" Cedric asked his son.
"Yoyo Clarin!" Emilio said proudly.
"And what are your parent's names?" Cedric asked, checking if his son remembered his lessons with his dad.
"My dad is Cedric Clarin and my mom is Adrianna Lobo." Emilio announced.
"Good. Smart boy." Cedric said as he patted his hand on the boy's head.
"Okay, enough fun for you guys." Adrianna said as she interrupted their conversation. " Both of you, finish your breakfast before the others arrive."
Emilio smiled at his father before running back up to his seat and finishing his breakfast.
