As Cedric recounted his plan to Ram on the phone, he was surprised at how silent Ram had remained throughout the call, it was quite odd for the man.
"Ram? Are you still there?" Cedric asked as he waited for Ram to answer him.
"Yeah, I'm here. Sorry about that." Ram said in a distracted tone. "I heard Louisse was bad news but nothing to this extent."
"I was shocked too." Cedric admitted to his friend. "I didn't think someone could be.. ." Cedric's voice trailed off as he thought of a proper term to describe Louisse.
"This vile?" Ram asked over the phone.
"Yes." Cedric replied with a nod as he glanced to check on the situation on stage.
It seemed that everyone was quite focused on the show and his absence was not noticed.
"Cedric." Ram said with a sigh over the phone. "We both know you have dealt with worse."
"I have dealt with out right rapists and murderers, but never someone that used emotions to extort their victims." Cedric told his friend in a very frank tone."
"You need to be careful." Ram reminded Cedric. "There is a reason why her actions have gone unpunished and I suspect someone bigger could be supporting her."
"That's something I'm worried about too." Cedric said with a nod. "This isn't some local diva that I can call you about, her backer could be someone way more powerful than us."
"We have to admit it, Ced. We are big fish in a small pond." Ram said with a laugh as he simultaneously complimented and insulted him and his friends.
"I've asked Ace to look into this." Cedric told his friend. "His connections abroad are much wider than mine. It's actually gotten me thinking that we need to expand."
"Expand your business or your connections?" Ram asked.
"Both." Cedric said in a definitive tone. "I guess that's one downside to my education only being handled locally."
"I'm sure Alexi or Miguel will know a few important people here and there." Ram suggested. "I think your parents never really expected the company to boom so much under your care."
"I didn't either. All I had planned was to get a foothold internationally, I didn't think it would work out so well." Cedric admitted.
"Maybe you can start with Yoyo." Ram suggested. "He could build local connections while in his primary and secondary education and then maybe have him consider studying abroad for University."
"That's if Yoyo wants to follow in my footsteps." Cedric said with a sigh.
"Why wouldn't he?" Ram asked in a confused tone over the phone.
"He is three years old Ram!" Cedric scolded over the phone. "Of course as a kid he'll idolize one of the adults around him. But as he gets older, he'll get scolded, reprimanded, he'll see different things that he will like better and want more."
Ram was silenced by Cedric's words. He knew his friend was right.
Even in their generation many of them wanted to chase their own dreams and make a name for themselves outside of their family.
"Ram, I will not be like our parents and the generations before us." Cedric finally said, breaking the awkward silence. "I will let my son choose what path he wants to take."
"Problems for the future." Ram finally said with a sigh.
"Yes, for the future." Cedric said with a nod. "Right now we have our own problems, just as our children will have theirs."
"I'm not even married yet." Ram said with a laugh. "For now I want to focus on taking down anyone who could be a threat to my girlfriend."

"Thank you." Cedric finally said. "For calling out of concern."
"I will help in whatever way necessary." Ram said. "Enjoy your night. It seems to be a fun party." Ram said with a laugh as he dropped the call.
Cedric smiled as he thought of his friend and shook his head. What started out as a relationship of convenience had become one of true love.
Just as Cedric ended his call with Ram his phone buzzed again, as he read the message a sense of relief crossed him as he smiled.
It was Camilla finally reaching out.
'We are fine. I'm sorry about what I had to do.'
Camilla's message said, a second one soon made his phone buzz again.
'Benedict and I have some interesting and I think important information that we need to tell you.'
Camilla's second message read.
Cedric couldn't help but worry about what Camilla had sent. Cedric walked back to his table and handed his phone over to Ian.
Ian gave him a confused look and raised an eyebrow at Cedric. He wordlessly took the phone and read the message.
"Is something wrong?" Adrianna asked as she noticed Ian's expression suddenly change.
"A message from Camilla." Cedric told his wife with a shrug as he watched Ian read through Camilla's messages.
"Is she fine?" Adrianna asked.
"Yes, she just has some information." Cedric told his wife. "We'll talk about it later."
Adrianna simply nodded and took Cedric's word.
