Cedric was glad that they now had Mien to help Katerina prepare for a case against the Rajas.
Of course, Cedric was still hoping that they would somehow find a way to get in touch with those employees and convince them not to fear the Rajas.
The Reyes Group was also more than willing to assist them in any way possible. Cedric was aware that the Rajas were probably threatening or blackmailing those employees, so he was prepared for the worst.
"Mien and I have done everything we could to prepare," Katerina approached Cedric's desk, pulling him from his thoughts. "All we can do now is to find them or for the Rajas to take action."
"Thank you." Cedric nodded as he began to pack up his things. "Have dinner with us, Adrianna wants to talk to you."
"Can I refuse?" Katerina asked Cedric.
"You can, but Adrianna is leaving for Kashmere tomorrow and she wanted to talk to you before she flew out." Cedric told Katerina who simply sighed and shook her head.
"Fine." She grumbled as she picked up her bag and followed Cedric out of his office.
She was surprised to find Ayanna waiting outside for them, normally the siblings took separate cars for safety purposes.
"I'm driving us today." Cedric explained. "I miss driving, it relaxes me and Ayanna wanted to spend time with you."
Katerina simply nodded as she walked alongside the siblings towards the elevator.
Despite Cedric's cold and unyielding reputation, people still greeted him warmly as he left the office. Katerina was quite impressed at how highly the employees of the Reyes Group respected Cedric.
She knew that they were paid more than most and that they were also given better opportunities and hours by the company. This created very loyal employees that wouldn't easily betray the Reyes Group or it's owners, the Reyes Family.
Cedric was normally a fast driver, but with two pregnant women in his back seat he drove carefully and slowly making Ayanna laugh at him.
"Since when have you been this slow?" She teased.
"Since your husbands would kill me if I drove too fast." Cedric responded with a light laugh.
"I'm not even married!" Katerina complained, making the siblings laugh at her.
"All you two are lacking is a ceremony. You and Eric practically decide on things as if you were married." Ayanna pointed out. "Plus you've got a little bun baking in your oven."
At Ayanna's words Katerina blushed making her friend laugh even harder, Katerina Sebastian didn't blush.
"So when are you telling him?" Ayanna asked her friend as she finally stopped laughing. "You should tell Eric that you two are expecting, unless, oh no, did you?"
Katerina shook her head and glared at Ayanna. She knew her friend was just teasing her, but the thought of her cheating on her fiance was just too repulsive.
"She's just teasing you Katerina. No need to plot my sister's murder in your head." Cedric said with a grin as he drove them through the thick traffic of the capital.
"I'm not going to murder her." Katerina answered back as she rolled her eyes at Cedric.
"You were plotting it! I was only teasing!" Ayanna complained, making Katerina grin victoriously.
"I'm serious though, Katerina, Eric deserves to know about this." Ayanna said as her tone suddenly became more serious.
"I know, it's just I don't want to give him false hope." Katerina said with a frown. "We've actually been trying for a while now. I told him that we weren't getting any younger and I didn't care if I was Mrs. Chan, I want to have kids."
Cedric smiled from the driver's seat. None of them thought that Katerina wanted children, as a matter of fact they all thought that she was more than happy not to have them since she often complained about how much they cost. And yet here she was, hoping that she was pregnant.
"His family isn't going to like this." Katerina said with a sigh as Ayanna patted her back. "We all know how traditional they are."
"Have you and Eric ever cared about what they think?" Cedric asked.
Katerina gave Cedric a weak smile and shook her head.
"It would be nice to have their approval for once though." She replied.
"You don't need it, Katerina, you'll always have us." Ayanna told her friend with a smile as they pulled up to the gates of Cedric's Mountain View property.
It was already quite dark outside when they arrived and they were greeted by a very excited Yoyo who quickly ran out the door to welcome his father, Aunt Ayanna, and Aunt Katerina.
"Are you going to try to convince me to talk to Eric too?" Katerina said with a smile as Adrianna approached them.
"I might." She responded with a wink. "Did Cedric's and Ayanna's talk get you to consider?" She asked the lawyer as they walked into the mansion behind Cedric who was carrying a very excited Yoyo in his arms as he told his Auntie Ayanna about his day.
"Katerina, I know you are hesitant, but I'm sure Eric wants to be by your side through all of this." Adrianna told Katerina as they walked towards the dining room where the maids and chefs had prepared a healthy meal for the three pregnant women.
"Are you packed?" Cedric asked his wife as he pulled out the chair for her.
Adrianna nodded and gave her husband a sweet smile.
"Yoyo is already packed as well and his school has been notified of his absence. When will you come and join us?" Adrianna asked her husband.
"I plan to fly over in a day or two, I just need to handle some things here then I'm all yours. I'll work from Kashmere if anything urgent comes up." He told his wife with a nod.
"Won't anyone else be joining us for dinner?" Katerina asked as she realized that the maids only set up enough spots for the five of them to eat.
"No, the others are either at work or went out. It's been a while since any of us could safely step out of the mansion." Cedric told Katerina. "I informed Eric to pick you up here after work. I said we had a big case to work on."
Katerina nodded as she considered what to do, she knew she would eventually tell Eric, she just wasn't sure if now was the right time to do so.
