Xia Lin was awakened by a familiar ringing of his mobile phone.
He squinted his eyes and fumbled to press the answer button.
“Xia Lin, still asleep?” On the other end of the line, Song Yan’s voice was still in its transformation stage, “I’m getting off the plane, come and meet me at the airport!”
Xia Lin didn’t say anything, but cut off the phone with his other hand and went back to sleep.
A few seconds later, the phone rang again.
This time Xia Lin didn’t even look at it, he just simply hung up.
After repeating this several times, the phone finally stopped.
A few minutes later, Xia Liang kicked open the door to his room and said with a black face, “What the hell are you doing? Song Yan is harassing me with his phone calls.”
Xia Lin sighed, “Brother, hang up. I’ll call him back.”
Xia Liang then closed the door and went out.
Once the call came through, he heard Song Yan’s growling voice on the other end: “Xia Lin, how dare you hang up on me! You’re not answering my texts, not answering my emails, and now you’re not even answering your phone, are you trying to cut off your friendship with Laozi?”
“Ah.” Xia Lin said with a wooden face.
“Ah what ah?!”
“Ah means yes.”
Song Yan was silent for three seconds, “Xia Lin, you’re not possessed by a ghost, are you? I just went to Australia, why do you behave like a different person?”
Xia Lin thought to himself, It is indeed a bit like being possessed by a ghost, being possessed by his own body.
That’s right, just a week ago, Xia Lin found out that he had come back from the dead and was reborn ten years ago, that is, after the Chinese New Year in 2008.
In another month, Song Yan will be eighteen years old.
In a few months’ time, Xia Lin will also be eighteen years old.
In another six months, they will have their college entrance exams.
Song Yan took advantage of the Chinese New Year holiday to go to Australia with his parents for a last spree before his exams.
Xia Lin wanted to go along, but his father did not agree. As a result, he could only look at the photos of the trip sent by Song Yan every day to satisfy his craving.

At that time, he and Song Yan were very close and had endless conversations every day. Even when Song Yan went to Australia, they kept texting and emailing each other every day.
However, a week ago, Xia Lin was suddenly reborn.
He was completely cold-hearted towards Song Yan and no longer wanted to tie his fate to Song Yan, and decided to choose a different path in life.
So, over the next few days, he was no longer interested in messaging with Song Yan. He no longer answered Song Yan’s phone calls, and he didn’t even want to say another word to Song Yan.
“Hello? Hello? Are you there, Xia Lin?”
As his thoughts were dragged back by Song Yan, Xia Lin took a deep breath and said, “Song Yan, I might not have much time to hang out with you in the future.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’ve decided to apply for the University of B Medical School. I’ve checked, the admission score for that major is very high, so, for the next six months, I’m going to spend all my time reviewing my subjects.”
Song Yan was dumbfounded for a moment and scoffed, “Xia Lin, you’re out of your mind. What’s the point of studying medicine for no reason? Don’t you know that studying medicine is tiresome. I heard it takes five years to graduate with an undergraduate degree!”
“No, it’s seven years.”
“What?”
“I’m planning to pursue a master’s degree consecutively.”
Song Yan was silent for a moment, but finally couldn’t help but curse out, “Damn, Xia Lin, what’s wrong with you? What are you thinking? When I come back from the airport, I will give you a good enlightenment…”
“You don’t have to come.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’m going out in half an hour.”
“Where are you going?”
“There’s a famous cram school in A City. I’m going there for a few days before school starts, my brother will send me there later.”
“Holy shit, Xia Lin, do you have to go to a cram school and still be in such a hurry? I just got back from Australia and you didn’t even fucking meet me.”
“No more meeting, if you feel bored, just find someone else to play with.” Xia Lin said and hung up the phone.
